Basics :: xxxxxName: Amias xxxxxNickname(s): Mias, Mimi xxxxxFaction: Spades xxxxxAge: xxxxxHeight: 5'2" xxxxxBody Type: Skeletal/atrophied
Poké-basics :: xxxxxPokemon: Baltoy xxxxxPokemon type: Psychic/Ground xxxxxNatural Ability: Levitation xxxxxPerma: No - evolve to Claydol xxxxxMoveset: Teleport: Use it to flee from any wild Pokémon. It can also warp to the last Pokémon Center visited. Power split: The user employs its psychic power to average its Attack and Sp. Atk stats with those of the target's. Heal block: For five turns, the user prevents the opposing team from using any moves, Abilities, or held items that recover HP. Earth Power: The user makes the ground under the target erupt with power. It may also lower the target's Sp. Def.
Personality :: xxxxxPositive Traits Mnemonic Amias is a very quick learner, and easily solves problems with a logical approach. He is perceptive which makes him extremely difficult to trick or fool. Every fact, detail, or book he picks up seem to stay in his memory forever. Thanks to Amias's attention to detail as well as his impressive memory, no challenge is nearly as difficult the second or third time around.
There are only a few concepts Amias has trouble conceiving; Humor, sarcasm and emotional displays. He believes he has a good understanding of body language, but it is much more complex and subjective than he realizes. This may cause some social encounters to be very awkward (unbeknownst to him) especially when he can easily mistake a flirtatious look for a confrontational glare... or vice versa.
Honest "You have my word surer than there are eyes on my face." Amias has witnessed the punishments that come with dishonesty and failure. The physical punishments aren't quite what frighten him, but rather the loss of trust and companionship. With what little friends he has, he can't afford to lose one by making a mistake as minor yet serious as lying. Amias puts all of his effort into keeping his word, fulfilling promises, being honest, and committing himself to his duties.
Amias tries hard not to dedicate himself to promises that conflict with prior commitments, but sometimes it is impossible. He has so much dedication for his faction that his responsibilities can drive him to betray a friend. When this happens, Amias doesn't express reluctance despite the regret he feels, and distances himself from the friend. When he makes a mistake like this, his pessimism leads him to assume the friendship is damaged beyond repair. If ever he is proven wrong, if a friendship is mended despite his blunders, Amias will be encouraged and strive to maintain all of his relationships this way.
xxxxxNeutral Traits Strange "For an occasion as special as this, I believe we deserve an extra biscuit with our tea... don't you think, Rockburt?" Amias craves companionship but due to his alienating behavior and his introverted tendencies he often finds himself alone. Being alone so often has lead him to develop eccentricities, such as talking to himself or having one-sided conversations with the rocks and pebbles he likes to levitate around with him. Over time, he may become convinced that they are his best companions; after all, they never disagree.
Talking with his imaginary friends may inadvertently help him develop social skills, especially if he grows nutty enough that those nonexistent friends start giving him intelligent responses. Consequently, spending so much time with his imaginary friends could prevent him from going out and actually socializing. That might not be too much of a problem if his imaginary friends convince him it's healthy to go out once in a while.
xxxxxNegative Traits Prejudiced "Don't even bother trying to understand... You're not capable of it." Amias has a bad habit of compartmentalizing new people and treating them according to that stereotype. For example, all fire types must be unpredictable pyromaniacs, all grass types must be peaceful vegetarians and so forth. He may fail to recognize the value of individuality in each person he meets, and even express a certain level of hostility towards particular stereotypes... Even when that stereotype fails to accurately depict the person.
Any relationship Amias develops, if deep and genuine enough, has the potential of teaching him how inaccurate and dangerous stereotyping people can be. He will never be able to cure himself of the snap judgements he makes, but at least he can become increasingly aware of them and attempt to adjust accordingly.
Pessimist It amuses Amias to think about the worst possible outcome in whatever situation he happens to be in. He always takes his logical approach to come up with these ideas, so they always seem likely to actually happen. He isn't afraid to verbalize these thoughts either, even during joyous celebrations. This can make Amias a downer to be around and a killjoy to invite to parties. It wouldn't be surprising to find him on everyone's do-not-invite list! Even when he is attempting to bring comfort to a suffering friend, Amias's thoughts always seem to make things worse thanks to his negative state of mind.
Since I feel his pessimism is so closely linked to his inability to view the world with an open mind, if his prejudiced disposition starts sinking, his negative perspective will gradually follow, and vice versa.
xxxxxLikes: Dry heat, friends, rocks, psychic types, discovering things new to him xxxxxDislikes: Magicians, being fooled, ghost types, dishonesty, xxxxxFavourite Food: Prickly pear cactus xxxxxHobbies: Tinkering: Once, Amias was overwhelmed with curiosity which lead him to take apart every device he had access to, just to study how it worked. Once he was satisfied with his curiosity, he began to put them back together... only to be fascinated with a new curiosity. What if I put this here, instead? What if I replaced this with this? Soon, Amias was improving devices and inventing completely new ones... But not without leaving a lot of gadgets broken beyond repair. Puzzles: Amias loves to challenge himself with puzzles of all kinds. However, he is frustrated to find that the more puzzles he completes, the less of a challenge they seem to be. He fears if he gets too skilled he will never be challenged again. Reading: Although Amias does enjoy reading once in a while, he quickly gets frustrated with the lack of hands-on stimulation he receives from it. He much prefers puzzles and tinkering if he had a choice. xxxxxInterests: Magic and illusions - Amias believes that if he can learn everything about the art, magicians would have a much harder time fooling him with their tricks. xxxxxFaction Opinion: "My home... <3" xxxxxAspirations: Discover Caterpillar's underground tunnels and master them. xxxxxFears: Being alone.
Employment:: xxxxxTitle: Watchful Wraith xxxxxJob: Spy/Intelligence Agent
