]The only surpising thing that happened was Skjor's death in my opinion. Everything else was weak. The silver hand eradication was unnecessary as well. It was very boring.
I suppose what bothered me is that it was nothing like the "fighters guild" is supposed to be. Even though it isn't the fighters guild, I expected there to be some elements of fighters guild quests in it (the main questline, not the repeatable quests).
It's also extremely unrealistic. Why would they suddenly start fighting a whole organization because a single new recruit appeared in their midst? I don't get it. That's not what it should be about, that's not Elder Scrolls standards at all.
What are your thoughts?

A lot of the quests in this one lack a captivating story. I find better stories running around in the wilderness.
I prefer the Dark Brotherhood chain, even if the ending is weak.
I actually didn't even finish the Companions questline on the one file I joined on, and probably won't.
But was the ending for the Dark Brotherhood really weak? I thought it was realistic, to be honest, when they have you at least start rebuilding after the fiasco at the old hideout. It gives a sense if normalcy and peace returning to the organization.

I guess I need to mention it was weak for me. I was used to the 'family' as they called it. I started to really like them and I don't like many NPCs in Skyrim. The fact that most of them died and our family members replaced by nameless NPCs just felt so blah.

Sure, the redecorating was fun... But that's it.
@Grumpy: Thanks!
Ah, I see what you mean. I certainly didn't like it that most of them died, but I'm not sure if I'd call it weak because of that. Personally the Sanctuary on Oblivion felt the most like a family to me, and I had to kill all of them in the purification ritual. After that the only person I had left was Lucien, but even he was taken away when the Black Hand mistook him for the traitor.
But yeah...I didn't like douchebags running in and killing the family, but I've suffered worse. sweatdrop

What is it with TES and killing killers? xD
Totally did suck. They first thought the traitor was one of the people in the Sanctuary, but I was like 'Aw hell no. those guys are cool. They'd never betray the Brotherhood', and after the Purification the found out I was right, it was a member of the Black Hand who was screwing with s**t. So then they played right into the traitor's trap and and chased after Lucien (who the traitor had a grudge against because Lucien had killed the traitor's mother years ago) and killed him. At that point I was like '******** my life, I'm gonna kill this ******** traitor then go do something to forget everyone is dead'. gonk
I think that TES just likes to screw with you during the Brotherhood questline, really. Maybe that's why I didn't get so close to the Skyrim family; I subconsciously knew that they would probably be killed off like before and I wanted to save myself some of the disappointment/guilt/anger/whatever it is I felt, haha.

i don't get why the questline is so long when it is as pointless as trying to kill a daedric lord with your fists. this is basically explaning it
you get saved by a dragon named alduin and then you kill a random dragon then you find out you're dragonborn and you are destined do kill alduin. then you do kill him and then keep getting attacked by dragons.

That makes perfect sense 1. Alduin dosn't really save you he just attacks a town. I am sure if he knew you were the Dragonborn he would kill you on sight then. That wouldn't make a good game. 2. I think it was a good way to find out you were Dragonborn. 3. If there were no more dragons how coulod you unlock the rest of the shouts?

I agree. Having the Sanctuary destroyed sucked, but killing them myself in Oblivion sucked worse.

And the real kicker is that the only person they give you that isn't a generic initiate is ********' Arquen. I mean really? She told me how she skinned and tortured Lucien, and she supposedly tore into him like a cannibal. It's just salt in the wound to leave alive the only person that I hated more than Bellamont, and make me work with her.
I think they actually tried to apologize in Skyrim a bit with the little things they threw in...xd
