A few months ago the village of Iwagakure was utterly destroyed unbeknownst to the rest of the shinobi world for quite some time. Eyewitnesses who lived to tell the tale don't seem to remember anything out of the ordinary save for the unusual amount of dust in the air. The dust however, had begun to blanket the sky as the day went on. Most in the village assumed it to be a large fire in the countryside, the fact that what looked like black snow or rather ash began to fall from the sky seemed to confirm this as a few shinobi forces were sent their to investigate. Upon returning, the shinobi forces sent out of the village found nearly the whole village to be massacred. What was odd was that for one week's time afterwards, the village experienced what the survivors could only call paranormal activity. Rocks and metal objects seemed to float in mid-air, metal in particular caving in on itself after a few hours of this odd behavior. Of the surviving shinobi the first task was to find an expert in magnetic fields and the fabled Satetxu bloodline, speculating this abnormal geographical behavior had something to do with magnetic forces. The whereabouts of such a person however are currently unknown.
One week ago, the gates of Kumogakure were utterly destroyed and all but one guard was killed, tasked with delivering a chilling message. It is unclear what the purpose of this attack was, however Kumogakure has since closed its gates to all visitors and seems to have gone into a state of hibernation as they investigate the one clue left behind: Sand. One thing is clear however, Kumo's shinobi forces are simply not strong enough to deal with whatever is to come should the mysterious Raikage's attempt to form an alliance with Kirigakure fail.
This same week, a Konoha trade ship was destroyed at the harbor. As no extenuating clues have been found after investigation, the incident has been chalked up to faulty pipes and gas leaks. Although some believe foul play had something to do with this, there is little to no evidence to prove an arsonist was behind the incident. Within Konoha's walls, a new village is emerging from the ashes of what is now called "Old Konoha." It seems The Will of Fire has been drastically altered under the reign of the current Hokage, who's identity has yet to be revealed.
Following the trail of rumors whispered upon the docks of the Land of Water, the current Mizukage has sent a squad to Konohagakure to inquire about the rumors of the current generations Hero's Water being stolen. From the information he has gathered from the amassing rogues in the countryside attempting to find it, the water was split into three separate batches and placed on trade ships headed to various villages. From what he gathered, one of the stops was in the countryside of Kirigakure. However, despite Kirigakure's best efforts to unmask the Takigakure shinobi who stole it in the first place, the master thief has not been identified. In order to warn Takigakure's current neighbor and ally Luo Ushio sent a three-man team to gather more information from Konoha on the rumors, ask them to send aid to Takigakure to guard the remaining water, as well as urge them to watch the harbors they share with Takigakure well. Fortunately, the last generation's Hero's Water is well hidden and still exists in Taki, however how long it will remain there is unknown. While dealing with this situation, the Mizukage has recently allowed an alliance to be set between Kirigakure and Kumogakure. The daring move on Luo's part will allow them partial control over Shimogakure, a small snowy village bordering Kumo, in exchange for access to their military might. However, it is unknown if Luo Ushio will use this partial control in order to investigate the nearby Takigakure for himself. His decision lies in the hands of the team he sent to Konoha one week prior, as well as the news of the new face of Konohagakure.
By this time, we can speculate that at least two of the three sets of Hero's Water have been found. It is a race to find the third and protect it from whomever it was promised to in the hopes of stopping a plot that has only begun to unravel.
Who are these shinobi that were promised the Hero's Water, and what are their intentions?
With recent attacks at Kumogakure's gates and Konoha's harbor, will there be more to come and perhaps opposing villages to blame?
Tensions are sure to run high but one thing is clear: This is Only the Beginning!
