The Current State of The Citadel
In this thread, you will find news and updates regarding the current state of The Citadel, its inhabitants, leadership and important current events inside the nation. Information in this thread IS REALLY FREAKING IMPORTANT and will often impact all players in the nation, especially outsiders. Whenever you see a new post in a Current State thread for any nation you have a character in, PLEASE READ AND RETAIN THE INFORMATION THAT'S POSTED. YOU are responsible for keeping up with this pertinent RP information, and any consequences or character deaths resulting from a player sending a character into a Nation in ignorance of its Current State will not be undone or dismissed as an honest mistake. This does NOT permit Meta-Gaming, and any attempts to act on knowledge your character does not know will have consequences. You've been warned! pirate

The Citadel's citizens knew a broader sense of freedom and peace during the mysterious departure of The Crimson Legion and their Grand Marshall, Srin Azio from the nation's lands. In their absence, a somewhat benevolent and enigmatic faction named The Organization took up residence in The Citadel. Led by Indelca's current Lord Aqua, The Organization watched over The Citadel in complete neutrality, allowing former enemies of The Legion to travel into The Citadel and experience its marvels for the first time in many years. Public opinion of the Nation's interim stewards was positive, and with the help of its people The Citadel slowly became a place where all were welcome to share in its grandeur. Of course, even their watchful gaze could not assure the total safety of The Citadel's residents... in the dead of night, a single scream might break the silence of its darkened metal hallways. The next morning, a person was gone. There was never any notable motive for the disappearances, nor any trace or evidence that could lead The Organization to the individual responsible. However, it had been a part of life in The Citadel for as long as anyone could remember -well before The Crimson Legion's first occupation. It is common knowledge among The Citadel's citizens that walking its interior alone at night is very dangerous and foolhardy, and that whatever stalks the halls takes its prey has been smart enough to never be caught and never leave a trace. Still, life in The Citadel always went on.
Even in the midst of war.
While Lord Aqua and his finest soldiers were away aiding the nation of Jiaum against the onslaught of the disillusioned Plague General Sephra's mutant armies, The Crimson Legion returned. Their arrival came without warning, and they returned in full force. With them came the Grand Marshall Srin Azio. Upon seeing The Organization's presence in his self-proclaimed rightful home, The Grand Marshall made no attempts at diplomacy and took no prisoners. At Srin's command, The Crimson Legion marched on The Citadel and gunned down every last member of The Organization. Al lattempts they made to defend themselves were ended by the Srin's ace card, the Artificial Intelligence L.I.S.A. Programmed by Srin himself, L.I.S.A. turned all of The Citadel's defensive countermeasures against the remaining members of The Organization The Citadel knew more bloodshed that day than it had seen in centuries, and when the massacre was over the corpses of the slain were piled and burned to ash.
Once again The Crimson Legion has uncontested dominance over the lands of The Citadel. Its residents do not complain and do not resist, for while The Legion's presence may be militant and ruthless the Grand Marshall's Legionaires have always served as their most vigilant protectors. Under the Lord Srin's rule and the rigorous patrols of his soldiers, the disappearances in The Citadel have dwindled to a minimum. Its people feel safe once more, even if their security is founded upon a mountain of murdered souls. With Srin and The Crimson Legion in full command of The Citadel once more, and L.I.S.A. acting as his eyes, ears and hands throughout the entirety of the compound, Srin has restored The Crimson Legion's notoriety and technological superiority over all of his enemies. The Grand Marshall has yet to use this power against another nation, but growing tensions between the tribes of The Devil's Eye Desert and their Lord Krayth have made many fearful that The Crimson Legion will march again, and never stop...
The Crimson Legion and The Citadel are now synonymous with one another, as Srin is both the nation's Lord and also the Legion's Grand Marshall. The Legion's enemies had best beware of traveling in plain sight. Most outsiders are welcome in the lands of The Citadel, but very few foreigners are granted passage into The Citadel itself. Those outsiders who are allowed entry into The Citadel are closely monitored, both under Legion supervision and by L.I.S.A's ever watchful eyes. Her automated defense systems are programmed to open fire on any individual entering a restricted area without clearance. Natives of The Devil's Eye Desert can expect much less than a warm welcome, and may find themselves jailed and interrogated without reason. Those found committing crimes within The Citadel will not be given a fair trial or due process; they will be considered enemies of The Legion and shot on sight.
