"Quiet please."

The tiny voice in the auditorium was drowned out by the crowds of students and a few concerned staff members as they speculated amongst each other. After the Trials, a series of test to prove Amityville's worth as a school to the Four Clans, many students were wary. More interesting yet was the interest from other schools, who had offered several guest students to join Amityville for the chance at an exchange program with The Four Clans. A few gnomes could be seen near the front of the auditorium taking pets on which student would crack first.

"ATTENTION PLEASE!"

The shout this time roared through the scamplifier, sending the gnomes rolling backwards, and several, if not all students, into a sort of stunned stupor. The secretary standing in the front of the stage suddenly coughed nervously, turned around for a second, and started wrestling with the scamplifier, though occasional words of "stupid thing" and "why me" could be heard.

"As many of you," - Arel cleared his throat a bit, suddenly a little nervous at all of the very invested attention -" Um, know, you have been invited to participate in exchange classes with the Four Clans. I hope everyone here has had a chance to sign up for classes, you will each get to choose two. While there, you still stay in respective dorms as according to your classes, so, um, if you choose a Famine Clans class, you will be staying in the Famine Clans dorms. May I remind you that The Four Clans is not a school. It is not even a small town like Halloween Town. The Four Clans is a large, established, and respected territory, their culture and heritage is older than that of Halloween Town itself. Because of this, as students and guest students, you need to be on your best behaviour. Four Clans members, unlike us, have very strict daily lives and schedules. Only ask for their help if you offer it: try not to interfere with their own daily lives. You, as students, will be escorted and taken care of during class times, but during your free time there, please make sure that you do not do anything.... harmful." A resigned sigh. "Please, you are representing us as Amityville and you are also representing our entire town, all of Halloween Town, so please make us proud and show the Four Clans who we are as well. By being on your best behaviour you will give them a good impression of us."

Another cough as he pulled out a few sheets of paper, shuffling through them, the scamplifier happily amplifying the loud crinkling noise. "Now, there is some homework, other than whatever homework the clans give you - which is mandatory by the way, um, the homework that is - that you need to do when you also get back. You homework is to understand the Four Clans as a culture and heritage, and learn from the daily lives and lifestyle of wherever you are staying. Learn, watch, but please, please, please do not interfere. The Four Clans have their reasons for keeping things the way they are. They have for centuries, and it is honestly, best if we did not get too involved."

Though for the newer students, it only may have seen like a light warning, there was a definite undertone for the more veteran students. There was something that the Four Clans was keeping away from the rest of Halloween then, but what? Was it really worth knowing? Moreover- would it affect them?

The secretary didn't seem to think so as he continued to rattle on about prohibiting natural forms, firearms, weapons, familiars, minipets, the list went on and on.

Amphi sat in the auditorium with a look of apprehension and consideration for the Exchange program. While Arel talked about the classrooms, she was surprised to see that Lizzy wasn't signed up.

Even if one of her best friends....Oh and there was Xiu on the class list. Her brows furrowed as she realized that neither of them had a class with her before shrugging. At least Xiu would be around.

One name caught her attention though and that was Thanatos. He had the first class with her which made her blink. She didn't even realize that-

"Don't interfere with their daily lives..." Amphi blinked as Arel protruded her thoughts with his voice before moving in her seat. She wanted to text Xiu to see if she was around first.

The experience of a lifetime.. and Bul was in no hurry to take it. He refrained completely from signing up with the Clans for a number of reasons, too many to count really. It saddened him that Mei would be gone learning all sorts of interesting things but for him maybe taking a break was just as important. While half the school (and its affiliates) were gone, he'd be at Amityville still, keeping up with SEEDs, working out, practicing, and hoping to find Nox again for a little chat about what they had done. As a hob he was obligated to go but as an experienced hob, he had mixed feelings in regards to the horsemen. Even to this day he was unsure of how to trust them, their natures extremely spontaneous and any event that they and Amityville shared always ended up in RUIN. Well they weren't the horsemen for nothing...

Still to show his respect (and of course to bid his friends and ghoulfriend a safe, fruitful voyage) Bul Itches did show up to the brief assembly where the event would be introduced. Oh how he wished he'd had his yellphone but he hadn't had a chance to purchase a new one after the incident with SEEDs.

"ooOOoohhh... what's wrong, Glowbug?" A voice cooed electronically behind the half beast. Pepin was here for the assembly as well, it appeared, her hair whisping about behind her. "You're looking aq-f-fo-sully blue for being so red."

Oh great. Bul rolled his eyes and sighed as he turned around to see the glitch ghost holding the corpse of his old phone out before him.

"How can you even tell, ghoul. You're like a little creeper."

"I can read you like a GRUEGLE MAP-" she piped up and handed him the phone. "It can probably send just one last text on it. MAKE IT COUNT, GOOD LUCK!" Pepin saluted the half beast and winked before vanishing back into the crowd again, her pixels dancing in the air where she once hovered.

"But Pepin I'm not-" Bul was too late to catch the ghoul as she made her getaway. "-going," the boil sighed and thumbed the poor, water-damaged screen and number pad before pulling up Mei in his contacts.

at the assembly, you here yet? if i dont c u, then good luck. <3

Quite promptly after sending it, the boil's phone sparked a little and finally gasped its last true breath of life before completely giving out. Hopefully rebuilding his contact list wouldn't take too long..

Amityville Academy. Ace was shaking where he stood, his grin couldn't get any wider. Sharp jagged teeth clattered together and the demon of avarice wiped his spaded tail behind him. Everything Arel said went in one ear and out the other, his filter only picking up imagery like golden statues, porceloin vaces, all the treasures and value in the world just ready to be bargained into a game of TRexass Hold'em. Tugging down on the vest of his absolute BEST suit (and his lucky one at that) Ace made sure he looked as charming as a jack-damned chimera on fire.

If the horsemen didn't do much gambling, the students surely would. What creature of Halloween in their right mind didn't walk on the wild side when out of parental supervision?

It seemed like things were going to be interesting in this..odd foreign territory they were going to be going into. Still, despite how she felt about the Horsemen in that given instance, she was...she was ready. Tired, anxious. Worried, even. She wasn't sure who else was going - Jericho and Riley didn't appear to be from what she'd gathered, and yet... No. That was for the better. They didn't need her to babysit them while she was away. In fact, she hoped that while she was gone....

She'd find out something. The Horsemen had to have something they could help her with. She hoped. She wished. Part of her was even ready to sacrifice to get it. That glimmer of hope - a cure. She wouldn't let them go down like Red had.

Shehk would save Riley and Jericho somehow.

She knew which classes she needed to sign up for. Which clans to speak with. Would she have a chance to go and interact with the other clans as well? She wanted to speak to all of them, but most of all... most of all she hoped the clan of Death would maybe have an answer for her somehow.

In fact, sitting in her seat, Shehk looked more anxious than she had the entire trials. Desperate, even. She would put this all to an end. Somehow. She would show the Horsemen she had worth to help. She already had, hadn't she? Her hand pressed to the medal she'd kept tucked inside of her vest. Not on display for the rest of the students, but..it was there.

She had some merit already.

JD lounged in the middle of the auditorium, ignoring the din created by the other students as his eyes searched the crowd for a certain speck of gold.

He was told she was coming here, and he couldn't believe it personally, but- she'd done stupider things. He was going to drag her kicking and screaming back to Mr. King at the earliest opportunity. He'd been at the Trials. She couldn't possibly understand what was at stake.

Herryk had been pleased when he'd learned Freya wasn't going to be attending. It meant that he wouldn't have to spend the entire time worrying about her. It settled the unease in his gut just a little, especially considering what had happened at the end of the Trials.

Herryk hovered towards the back of the room, arms crossed over his chest as he listened carefully to what Arel had to say.

Auri shuffled around the noisy auditorium. She was frustrated and she wasn't trying to hide it.

Where is that lazy good for nothing? She thought to herself. The least he could have done was be there when Dad dropped me off. How the Jack am I supposed to find you in a place like this!

She continued past the rows of students looking for the familiar scowl of he lazy brother, Johnny Danger.

Circe sat quietly through the announcement made by Arel. Seemed like things were going to be a bit hectic the next few weeks. She sunk a bit in her seat. Why had she signed herself up for this again? Oh that's right. To hopefully get stronger. It made her a bit happy to find out that for the first week she would be in the War class. This was going to be hard, she knew that right off the bat, but it would hopefully be well worth it. With a soft sigh she rose back up in her seat to listen to the rest of the secretary's speech. No minipets. What was she going to do with her Lammit? She quickly stifled a groan. Well one more thing for her to worry about. She would have to make sure to send it to her parents to be taken care of while she was away.

When the secretary was finally done explaining what they could and couldn't do--which there were a lot of could not's--she took a glance around the room. She saw quite a few familiar faces in the sea of students. One in particular stood out to her more then any of the others though. El Greco. Or his newly dubbed name Grelo. With a smirk she made her way through the crowd to the boil, coming up from behind him where there was a seat open and sitting down. Once she was secured she wrapped her arms around the boils neck, though not tightly as she didn't want to choke him and then rested her head on her arm near his ear. "Grelo-mellow-the-green-fellow." She said teasingly. "Are you going too?" Circe asked even though she was certain that the boil was since he was here.

Normally Mort would have taken a seat, but an event like this left him with enough energy to run a marathon - albeit at the typical slower pace most zombies were noted for. He was jittery already by the time he found the auditorium, listening to Arel's speech with rapt attention before looking to stick to the side of the first familiar face he saw; this one in particular was at the back of the room, and one he hadn't seen in a long while.

"Herryk!" he greeted, beelining his way over as the secretary finished. "Ah, how is?"

A chance to find out what the horsemen were up to. Zar could hardly hide his excitement. Or rather..well he could hide his excitement. He always looked serious after all. But still, his tail swished giddily behind him as he drifted around the assembled students, for a change just..exploring.

He was feeling a lot better of late, much more confident. He'd made it through his first year at the school somehow or other and things were finally starting to coalesce into some semblance of sense.

There were a few faces present he was sure he hadn't met before, and he was curious to get a look at them all.

Mei was excited as she sat in the auditorium, listening to Arel carefully and quietly.

To the point that her body felt like it was vibrating and at any moment her body would just explode. This would be her first time doing anything this big and important at the school and while it made her excited, it also made her nervous.

Just exactly what would they encounter while in the Horsemen's territory? How strange and different it must be from the way Arel was talking! She really hoped she wouldn't do anything to offend them or cause any serious commotion!

And then she wondered about her friends she had made so far. Would Alex or Mitzi be in any of the classes she had signed up for?

Mitsu had gathered silently for the assembly, the last few days having worn her down completely. Sleep hadn't come easy and it seemed through the majority of the noise that the secretary was making Mitsu was still zoned out staring off into space. Her thoughts were elsewhere though, even as Arel began to explain they needed to be on their best behavior. It wasn't like Mitsu was prone to making a nuisance of herself but it probably would have been better to listen.

The words that Arel spoke were nothing more than muffled noises and Mitsu finally pulled her eyes away from the stage to look around at the room full of students she knew and others she didn't.

Ol-j-man

Herryk brightened considerably upon catching sight of Mort.

"Mort! Herryk is fine. How is Mort? Herryk has not seen Mort since Scarentines. It has been too long, friend."

He clapped the zombie heartily on the back.

"Does Mort know which classes he will be in yet?"

Temes had signed up for the classes because it was the correct thing to do, the right thing to do. She'd been in the trials, been horrified by the trials, but now she needed to move pass that and accept that the Horsemen were basically inserting themselves into the school and her way of life whether she liked it or not. The only thing she could do about it was to attend, learn, and accept the fate that the school had given to its students. With any luck there was a chance she might even learn something new, come out stronger in the end, and get over her nervous nature that constantly held her back.

The classes she'd signed up for had been Conquest, and looking at the roster, Death apparently. Both promised to be interesting, she wasn't afraid of learning about what was going to happen at the moment. Instead she merely mingled with the other students, waiting to be told where to go and what to learn. This was going to be a challenge, a test, and Temes didn't want to fail anything.

She didn't want to disappoint herself anymore.

The zomboil clasped Herryk's shoulder back, even if he did have to reach for it, grinning. "Yes, has! Think will be n' Famine first, War second. Alchemy, v-very tempting, could not pass! You? N' is, er, Freya coming?" He wanted to ask how the big guy's team had gone, and how the big guy was himself, and had he fixed up the issue that had caused the concerning Groanspring message a while back, and all the things. Mort felt terrible that he hadn't been keeping better contact.
