Eternally-X-Kaguya Let's face it everyone, from pink dragons to sparkly vampires, mythology has take quite a low blow in the last few decades. Post here what creature you used to like, but now hate because of movies, cartoons, books, etc. Indeed it has, and such a miserable thing that is. I'm not quite sure how, but I've managed to ignore most of it. Odd, since I really love the myths and folklore of ancient civilizations, and tend to quickly become irritated when the old legends are twisted to fit newer, half-assed stories. Though I imagine some part of me overlooks the bulk of it in the hope that the new corruptions will generate enough interest that others will look into the original tales, and that knowledge will spread. The only one I haven't been able to overlook is, predictably, Twilight. Probably due to the overwhelming number of fans drilling this garbage into their heads, and forgetting that the creatures Meyer attempted to depict are supposed to be monsters, not teen-age wet-dreams. I sincerely hope that these books turn out to be just another fad (although a particularly abhorrent one, nonetheless) to be grown out of over the next handful of years, so the majority of the next generation will know what "real" vampires and werewolves are. I approve. It's nice to see there's at least one high school kid with a functional brain in her head. 3nodding

And yes, she is one of the non-idiotic ones.

That was great. As for your original post. I don't have tv so other than what I end up watching with other people while visiting them, I manage to avoid most of it. Plus, I'm really good at tuning out shows I don't want to watch. It is sad though, I much prefer my monsters to be bloodthirsty.

Well good for you, television rots your brain enough with out the sparkly sugar-coated vampires, anyway.

I do watch some shows but none of them have anything to do with mythology. I'd rather read the original tales and myths for that sort of stuff.

They definitely made cerberus weaker because of Hercules Disney and scribblenauts. I killed Cerberus with a pellet gun in 6 shots! Where is the logic in that. Cerberus is also half as tall as maxwell. Zombies are overused now to.
