Being Normal, Being Weird

You live out your life, wanting to fit in
To know that somehow, there's no place to begin.

Losers hang with losers,
Nerds just hang with nerds,
Populars hang with Populars,
But where do you stand in?

Not a night to conquer,
Nor one that remains.
You're one that sits at your computer,
Having glorious visions.
Yet no one shares them with you,
In that school of yours.

You try being cool, but that feels strange...
All stiff with giggles, or buff with pride.

You try being a nerd, but found it horribly confusing.
It's not hard to see, they're way smarter than you.

You don't want to be a loser,
Yet you don't know where you stand.
Nowhere do you fit in, nowhere at all.

But what if you be you?
Will the school all notice?
What if you're the only one,
To be relaxed and focused.

People might call you weird,
Or shake their heads all silly...
But you could laugh it off,
Hey, it's you!

So, try as you might, you can't be weird,
And try as you might, you can't be normal.
But what if you feel normal,
But others call you weird?

It's not as if the world will end,
Or the paper's going to tear,
But you know your life that's on and on...

Being normal, being weird.
