That pizza charm was a lovely idea, hun.
It was also painted really well. I wish I had glaze skills like yours. xD

Thank you! The idea of it actually has a personal meaning to us so that is how I came up with it. ^-^
I just used something called Triple Thick Gloss Glaze by DecoArt, it works really well! 3nodding

The Civil War gown is GORGEOUS! (I'll bet the corset took a while to make, too!). However, I do believe my favorite (so far, anyway) HAS to be the Piece of Cake charm - it's wonderful!

Thank you! I do not remember exactly how long that it took me on the corset. It was pretty easy to make, though!
I never made that into a necklace, I really should do that soon. sweatdrop I am so slow at some things....

I've also seen some pattern books (one was for theatrical costumes) that explain how to make your own patterns ... I do create some of my own patterns, using an end roll of newsprint that I have.

For the ball gown I cheated and used a costume pattern, which is really not a good idea because it is not accurate to the time period but I did alter the pattern that I used to better suit a reproduction dress.
For the corset I did use a pattern, from Simplicity.
The drawers and petticoat were drafted using period techniques from a book that I have.
The green day dress (Which I just posted. sweatdrop ) was from a period pattern that I altered a bit to fit my body.
I really do not use patterns that often because I do not understand them that well, I normally make my own. Almost all of the other clothing posted here I made my own patterns for.

The Day Dress looks very nice! (I also like the parakeet!) I tend to start with a pattern, for the basic shapes of the pieces, then alter them before the cutting fabric (usually), but sometimes I start by just having something come to mind, and if I like it enough, I'll create a pattern from the finished dress/blouse/skirt/hat, whatever.
