The answer might be to go later. While I hate to go try to plan to close to JET departure, I might not even be accepted into Japan. I'll know around the first of April in any case. However, there are a couple semi-safe dates for me to add right now. Those dates are July 22-24 and August 17-19. If I don't get accepted, I'll add those dates in between. Actually, I'm thinking August will probably work best anyway. I'll keep you guys updated!

I've decided to go with a different approach. After asking the hosts and secondaries about when they will be unavailable and why, I've started working out dates that will absolutely not work. If the reason for not being there is strong enough, and if more than one host/secondary has a big enough conflict, the date has been marked off. While we're waiting, continue to post which of the following dates among those remaining you will not be available. If you've already posted when you're unavailable, don't feel like you need to again. Also, please include reasons why you will be unavailable so we can judge the severity of the conflict. 3nodding

Let's look at it this way when choosing dates. There are going to be conflicts regardless of when we choose the ball to be, so we have to get rid of as many obstacles as we can when choosing preferences. When will you absolutely not be able to commit to being on Gaia? If there is anything due at the time of the ball, it can be done in advance, including studying for exams. If there is a meeting or exam one day, then there is still the rest of the weekend. Things like that we can work around. But, for everyone, when will you have absolutely no chance of being on Gaia for at least half of the weekend?

We need to go ahead and decide when the 10th Annual Ball is going to be! Below are a list of possible dates for the ball. Let me know if there is anything that will definitely conflict with any of them. Whichever date works for the most people will be our ball date! This might take a while, but we'll get it worked out, so bear with us.
June 1-3
June 8-10
June 15-17
June 22-24
June 29th - July 1st
July 6-8
July 13-15
If I am accepted into the JET Programme, I won't be able to do late July or August, so I'm hoping we can work it out before then. Let's just see how it goes though. So, post away! Just say when you absolutely can't do it, and we'll put up voting later.
