Hey guys,
Just wanting everyone to give feedback on something that's been on my mind for a while now.
So here's what I'll ask, and you guys can vote yes or no, by posting in this thread. . But read this first before you do, ok?
As you guys may or may not know, this guild has over 600+ members, and if anything only about 20 of you are actually posting in this Guild, or participate in our events. So sometimes sending out Announcements can become useful to those of you who read them, but useless to a ton of other people, am I right? sweatdrop
Next thing is, we've got so many Sub-forums that not only is it hard on the eyes, but trying to scroll back and forth is a pain in the butt. [I've been told this, by many of you] ...Plus the Sub-forums aren't really active, the only places I've noticed that you post is in the main part of this Guild.
So my idea and my question is, should we buy a new Guild, where we can invite all the active members to join and we can start fresh, with new contests and have less Sub-forums for you to actually see what they are without hurting your eyes? Because technically we can't delete or sell any of our Subs. gonk
Plus all of you that do join this new Guild will be the active members anyways, and our Announcements will then be worthwhile sending out, does this make sense? sweatdrop
So in this thread please discuss what your ideas are and whether you think it's a good idea to shift over to a new Guild, or continue into this one.
And also don't worry because the name comes with us, so the new Guild will basically have the same name if majorly vote on it. sweatdrop

I voted no, for a couple reasons. 1) I use my post count (along with a bookmark in my browser) to keep tabs on my posts in the bump thread. (The post count is really helpful for double-checking, though!) Reset post count = confusing. xd
Also along with #1 -- a lot of threads / topics will be lost. Lots of stuff to re-make, re-post, etc.
2) A lot of people (in generally, I don't know if this specifically applies to your guild), do not read guild announcements on a regular basis, but they still want to participate in a guild. (Myself included in that! I often don't have time to read through a lot of announcements, thought I try to be active in other ways. sweatdrop ) But if you really want to get rid of inactive members, you can always clear out your memberlist instead of making an entire new guild? sweatdrop
3) The subforums could possibly be re-organized in here, without making more work for yourself by moving to a new guild. (For example, just make all the blank/unused subforums a blank title, (instead of asterisks), and don't space the regular ones out so much?)
Those are just some of my thoughts on the subject. smile (But I'm not a super active or long-time guild member, so I'm not sure it counts for much, haha.) Good luck deciding what to do with your guild! heart

I vote yes because a lot of members aren't active, so therefore they don't pay attention to the guild. Also, with members that are actually active, it would be better because everything would be nice and organize. Good luck deciding! heart

I'm going to vote no. My reason is simply this: some Gaians, myself included, end up on hiatus from Gaia (not always intentionally) and so wouldn't be considered "active" in the guild right now. However, when they come back, those like myself will go through what they have missed and then catch up with their various guilds' activities. For example, I went on an unplanned hiatus during the summer until October because life was just so crazy. When I came back, I read the guild announcements I had to see what had occured during my time away and what was currently going on. I can appreciate the reasoning behind starting a new guild, but I think there would be as many issues with that as with the current one.

I'm all for new and shiny. For those who are on hiatus you could leave a link on the homepage couldn't you? or in the Announcement that says you are moving the guild? I have been a part of a guild that moved numerous times. Sometimes its best to start over.

I vote no.
It seems wasteful to walk away from all that has been done and said. I think it would be preferable to do the clean-up to make the guild more user friendly. I personally would like to see all the ***s gone and replaced with a word (i.e., "closed").
The issue of inactive members - I've seen other guilds send an announcement saying "post within 30 days or be removed from the guild." People can always rejoin when they return from a long hiatus.

I vote yes as it seems it would be a lot less work for you and you can establish new rules for posting and being active.

Though I agree with Skylara, I think it would be nice to start fresh. Perhaps send out a PM or something of the sorts to remind each member, and the recently active, or ones who reply asking to join the guild, would have a 'pledge' of activity -so to speak- which they would have to agree on to be invited into the new guild.
