is anybody going to watch this movie?
i have watched maybe ten Studio Ghibli movies for one thing, and read a half dozen of the Borrower books (which were not all outstanding, but some of them were)
so i must go and spend my precious gold.
maybe i will have one of those Angus Beef hotdogs the movie sells too.

I will probably see it at some point. I like Ghibli! Waiting for that PS3 game to come over, Ni no Kuni. Gonna be beautiful!

Ghibli made the movies of my childhood. But the past handful have been disappointing (with the exception of Ponyo)
So I don't think I'm going to go out of my way to watch their stuff anymore, and just watch Laputa for the 1000000th time.

I only enjoyed Ghibli movies because they combined their distinctive art style (and usually good voice acting) with stories I didn't generally know. This is a story I know. I'll find it hard to see a movie just for art and acting's sake.

I actually heard a guy hosting an 'ask your pastor' radio show say that The Lion King was dangerous for children because it was Buddhist. In other words, people are dumb.

It was cute, but the Borrowers story really irks me for some reason. It's not borrowing if you never give it back stressed
Ponyo was way better heart

I wish they'd stop adapting stuff. But I haven't seen this latest one.

Although I have grown much fonder of Howl's Moving Castle on the second viewing, the books is still much better imo.

Howl's Moving Castle happens to be my favorite Ghibli movie but I do think the Arriety could have been better. It was still worth watching though. (In Japanese, I haven't seen the English dub)

the Hayao M movies I most like are Nausicaa, Kiki's Delivery Service, Howl, Porco Rosso, Castle in the Sky, Whisper of the Heart, and my favorite, Spirited Away.
i thought he did Leaves of Autumn but maybe not?
i did not much care for Ponyo, to me it seemed contrived, i did not care for the characters, the mysterious sea goddess meant nothing to me.
