"Excuse me, I would like to check out this book please."
The girl at the counter was reading her book quietly, head bowed as she read the lines in the book. Not recognizing the voice, she tilted her head up slightly and looked toward the troll, her black, well cared for hair framing her face. "Very well, may I get your card?" she asked leisurely, grabbing her outfit decorated bookmark and stuffing it into the book, her droopy eyes staring up at the stranger without a care in the world. It was an orange blood, staring at her intently and handing her the book. Vremea took it, grabbed the stamp next to her, and yawned as she stamped the due date. "Please bring it or renew it by then, otherwise we will have to fine you for borrowing it for longer than necessary, although you may buy it?" She looked up at him with a questionable glance, and he shook his head. "Sign your name here, then." She said in a monotone voice as she handed the customer the desk that was attached to the counter. He had taken it and scribbled his name with ease, handing her the pen as she took the card he had signed on, placing it onto the neat pile on her desk. "Thank you, and I hope you enjoy the book! It's one of my favorites." She said with a small, comforting smile, trying to lighten the tension. "No, thank you!" He said eagerly, and left right after. The library went silent again.
Sigh.
Why was it always so boring working this early in the night? Her book could only entertain her for so long. Looking outside, Vremea Everai frowned. The sun had just set a few hours ago, and they were loosing light for which to read in. She got up and walked towards the door, flipping each of the the switches on the wall a few times before turning around to look at the library. It wasn't small, but then again, it wasn't big. There were books everywhere, and she loved seeing all these books surrounding her. It made her happy, if only slightly.
Walking back to her seat at the counter, she couldn't help but think of what would happen next in the book. Sitting down on her seat and opening her book again, she skimmed the lines to find her place in it. Page fifty-nine, line... four. Flipping her bookmark horizontally and placed it right underneath the line she was on so as to not spoil herself with any other line or get distracted with the rest of the text on the page. Slowly, she started to loose herself in the book... extremely focused.

Minist walked up the steps of the library. She had never been much for reading, she was more of a hands on kind of learner. Still, she had a problem that could not be solved in that way. She had found an engine that she just couldn't crack into. Normally she would have Ratmom just bite into it, but the engine was somewhat small and Ratmom would just bite through all the parts inside that she wanted to get to and examine. This project called for finesse. That was the reason for Minist's visit to the Chittentown Library. Being an industrial city there was sure to be plenty of books on machines and she'd certainly find the information she was looking for.
Opening the door she peeked inside and saw an empty building. Empty save for one troll reading at the desk. Wow, they had a lot of bows. Lots of hair too. Hm, maybe she knew where she should look? She was the only other one here to ask. Brushing some sand out of her hair she made her way up to the desk. "Yo, any idea where I can find a book on engines?" she said as she put her hands on the desk and leaned over, casting a shadow over the book. "You sure dress frilly." she said as she tilted her head.

She was on the best part. So far, the book was amazing and was keeping her on the edge. Finishing the paragraph eagerly, she smiled to herself out of excitement. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see someone enter the library, the doorbell letting off a soft jingle. But she payed no matter. She was so focused in the book, nothing could break her concentration. It was on it's climax, the girl about to die and her friend was going to watch her d— "Yo, any idea where I can find a book on engines?"The imprudent p***k. Who was she, thinking she could just interrupt her book like that! She was reading— that should practically say 'DO NOT DISTURB.' This idiot, what was she— wait a second what was wrong with her?? She was the librarian, what in gogs name was she thinking? She was supposed to be helping others with the information she had, since she was the librarian! She mentally facepalmed, grabbing the bookmark from next to her and placing it into the book on her page. Still a little butthurt, for being interrupted, she tried to regain her composure before looking up. "Oh— um." The yellowblood was cute. Wild, chin short hair framed her face like a constant mess, with two, wrench-like horns poking out of her head. Curious eyes scanned her and she tilted her head slightly at the girl, getting up and looking at her full outfit as she left the book on the counter. A skinny tube top that framed her slim waist perfectly, with short shorts on her hips. She looked like a spunky, outgoing girl that didn't care what the world threw at her— she wouldn't care. Blinking at her, she dusted off her dress and was about to direct her to the mechanical section of the library, when she heard a comment about her outfit: "You sure dress frilly."She paused. "Please follow me," She said with an exhale, walking down the hallway and expecting the girl to follow her to the section. "And what exactly is wrong with that? You say it as if dressing frilly is bad," She said with a slight frown.

Minist smiled at the fellow yellowblood as she stood. When she began walking towards a section of the library she followed next to her, still smiling. "Oh, nothing wrong with it," she said as they walked. "It's just not something I'm used to. Especially not here. It's nice, though. Not something I'd wear, of course. Froofy stuff just doesn't fit me." As she spoke she reached over and grabbed the end of the ribbon tied to the toll's horn. "Do you always wear these? Personally I would have used these to tie up all that hair you got, but I guess it's kinda cute on the horns like this. I wouldn't be able to deal with all that hair, that's why I keep mine short." Releasing the ribbon she ran her fingers through her unruly hair. "Doesn't that hair ever get in the way? It can get kinda windy after all."
She was testing the waters with this troll. She had seemed somewhat annoyed when she had first asked for help. This triggered Minist's desire to annoy her further. Then again she didn't want to get into a big fight with some she had just met, so she was just testing her reaction to mild chit-chat. Seeing where that went she might try to rile her up or just continue small talk. Wait, you're supposed to be quiet in a library? That's stupid. What's the point of being in a public place if you don't chat it up with some trolls? Maybe if this troll proved to be boring she'd leave her in peace and just get the information she wanted before leaving her to her book. Still, she'd rather talk than read. Reading was so static while talking can be so very animated and exciting!

"True. Here in Chittentown it is awfully rare to find someone with such tastes," Vremea said, partly to herself. Looking towards the other trolls hand that was currently in her hair, fingering a bow, she pouted. "This is not froofy outfit..." she said with a frown, pressing her thumbs finger tip against her other thumb nervously. "Froofy outfits contain pink and fluff and puff and sparkle dust all over them, and not even one outfit of mine contains speck of glitter." She turned her head to the side, slowing down as she reached a rather large bookshelf. Gesturing to it, she nodded softly. "Yes, it does sometimes get in my hair, but what can you do? I would never cut my hair — it's too much of a sacrifice. Too precious to me."
This troll was peculiar— no, interesting, for a better word. What was with all her questions, and why did it seem like she was curious?

"That's going past froofy and going into just plain stupid territory." Minist said with a laugh. Her bright eyes scanned the large bookshelf as they slowed down. Lots of books. Lots of boring books. Sliding past the books her eyes found there way back to the be-ribboned troll. Smiling with lowered lids she leaned in a bit closer to her. "If you keep growing that mane eventually you'll be like Troll Rapunzel. You certainly dress pretty enough already." she said. She was still testing this troll's reactions, but she did find her quite pretty.

Stifling her laughter so as to not have her only methood of conversation leave because of how ridiculous she sounded, she placed a hand over her mouth with a smile. "Quite. It is as if you are trying too hard to be cute. It is so simple to be it, though. I do not see how you could resort to such methoods! It hurts the eyes to stare at something bright for too long." She had read it in a book somewhere and tried it afterwards— no, not pleasant at all. Imagine being surrounded with those bright colors becaus you were wearing them at all times? That would be horrible! Your eyes would surely be blinded afterward!
Looking over towards the troll, Vremea noticed that she had just stared at the bookcase. Almost offering to help her, she stopped when she commented on her outfit. A small, yellow blush spread on her cheeks, and she smiled softly at the other troll. Letting some sarcasm and a bit of humor to slip into her voice, she raised her eyebrows at the other troll while trying to suppress the smile on her face.
"That was my aim, mind you. Thank you for the compliment. It's nice to see another troll appreciates my style." Vremea said wholeheartedly. As the blush on her face faded, she looked towards the yellowblood with a small tilt of her head. "What exactly are you looking for? Might I help?" She ran a few fingers through her hair quickly and touched her right bow's laces, fingering the good material that had cost so much, but was so, so worth it.

As a blush spread across the other's face a grin spread across Minist's. So, they were that kind of troll? Now she knew it what direction to take her bugging. "Yes, I agree. You, after all, don't need to add anything to be cute. Why tarnish such a vision with those stupid clothes?" she said with a wink. It would be so much fun if she could get her whole face bright yellow. It would be even better if she could get her into a flustered mess. Now that she had a plan of action in mind Minist planned on following it through until the fun had finally run out, which would be when the troll stopped reacting or she get kicked out. Oh wait, her current plaything was talking about the books. That's right, that was her reason for being here. She should probably take care of that. She could flirt more as she received help.
"Well see, I have this engine and I want to take it apart. The problem is I can't figure out how to do it without destroying the tiny parts. I would rather avoid that if I can. I was hoping you would have a book that might be able to tell me on how to dismantle this thing." she said with an air of scholarly yearning. Despite what other may think she did not like the break things, she liked to meticulously take them apart piece by piece so that she may learn from them. The only reason she didn't choose books as her method of learning was she felt they were not as engaging. She was not against the idea of reading as long as the book in question could answer queries for her and she could not attain it through her normal hands-on approach. She could even enjoy reading greatly if it was just the right book.

"Why, thank you again. You're not too shabby yourself, you know."
Vremea restrained her smile. She had thought she looked ridiculous among the other trolls because of how she dressed! But then again, not all trolls were as flirty and as complimenting as this one... Okay Vremea, calm down. You're letting yourself get carried away by someone you do not even know! What is this, some sort of a flirt fest?? Why did she suddenly change her character? Goodness, she needed to get her personality straight and oraganize her thoughts. She didn't even know this troll!
Her face changed back to it's normal facial expression, all buisness-y and back to work. "But anyways ...We may have an assortment of books that might catch your attention." she said as she looked at the large staircase. "Please excuse me for a second," she said, walking away into the library of books, her petite figure getting lost in the rows of books.
Vremea came back soon after, rolling the heavy stairs from one end of the hallway to where they were now. Exhaling roughly(she was always out of breath when it came to things like exerting herself too much, even if it was a simple moving of things back and forth), she stopped rolling them right infront of the bookcase. She hummed a song to herself as she went to the end of the bookcase and pushed a small cart to keep it in place so she does not fall back while she gets a book. It's happened before— not the most plesant time in the world. Lets just say she lived happily for a few more months after it happened.
She walked up the staircase wearily, slowly climbing up and placing each of her feet up the stairs one at a time while pulling the basket on it's railing up. Reaching about halfway up, she leaned over slightly, reaching for a book and grabbing it, placing it on one of the steps as she looked for a few other books that she had found fairly interesting about the same subject.
Placing the few books in the basket attached to the staircase, she pushed the basket softly, it going by itself down. Those books might help," She said as she walked down the staircase again, firmly planting her heels against the staircase. I've read them all and they are rather interesting and helpful."

Oh and she flirted back. What fun! When she first walked in Minist did not think this girl would be as fun as she was turning out to be. Well, she shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, pun not intended of course. Puns weren't needed tonight. Tonight called for flirting! As her fellow yellowblood walked off in search of a book she desired Minist was thinking up her next action. What to do next in an attempt to ruffle this troll's feathers? Clasping her hands behind her head she smiled and watched the librarian as she rolled around on her staircase and collected books.
"Is that so?" she inquired, sounding a bit amused. "Are you interested in mechanics too? Or do you just gobble up every book in your path?" With a glimmer in her eyes she watched the troll, lips pulled to the side as she tried to hold in laughter at the sight of this troll already out of breath. What on alternia was with this girl? Didn't she lift books and use that staircase all the time? Or perhaps that was just it, maybe she had already tired herself out and she was resting when Minist had poked her head in? Whatever, that wasn't Minist's problem. This girl really did need to get some muscle, or something. Walking over to her Minist placed a hand on her hip. "So which one do you think I should start with, pretty bows?"

"It's useful to know things like that— just in case you are in an unsafe situation in which you will need what you had learned." Vremea pressed a finger to her bottom lip, as if in deep thought. "...but I also read it just to read, yes. It gets awfully boring in here sometimes." She said with a raise of her eyebrow as she looked over towards the energetic troll. She nodded politely and crossed her arms, shifting her position somewhat. "Thank you again for the compliment, but I have a name," she said, "Vremea Everai, and you?"
She looked at the books in her hand with some thought. Looking at the book she thought would be best, she placed it the trolls hand. "This one tells you how to put together and take apart things in a mechanical structure so well that you can do it with your eyes closed. Meanwhile, this one," She placed it on top of the other one, "Should tell you the basics. This one tells you the general shapes and their different ways to be taken apart," She placed the last book in her hand onto the yellowblooded trolls hand. "...but! All in all, I do suggest you start with the basics then work with the complicated." She rearranged the order of the books so the the one on top would be the basic one, then the second basic, the the holy s**t that ones complicated. It should be easier for the troll to use that way. Hell, the troll would probably skip the basics and just straight to the complicated stuff. But at least she tried.

"I hate being bored. Probably why I don't read much. I can't sit around staring at pages when there's more exciting things that I could be doing." Minist said, offhandedly. "Vremea Everai, a pretty name for a pretty troll." she said with a wink. Laughing a bit she smiled and said, "I'm Minist. Nice to meet you." She might have offered a handshake or maybe even a squeeze of the shoulder, but at that moment her hands started to fill with books. She blinked at the books as Vremea listed off the wisdom that each contained. The first book seemed to be good enough she puzzled over why the other two were needed. Oh great, now she was rearranging the books and suggesting in what order to read them. Did she expect her to sit down and read through all three of them? Fat chance. Besides, who was she to tell her to "start with the basics"? She'd known the basics since she was 3-sweeps-old!
Pursing her lips slightly she brought her eyes back up to Vremea's face. Shifting the weight of the books in her hands she said, "Well. . . These should help me out. Thanks a bunch, but do you think you could do something else for me?" Lowering her lids and smiling she leaned in closer. "Would you mind helping me read these? You said yourself you had already read them. You'd probably find what I'm looking for faster than I could on my own. Besides, it's always more enjoyable when you have someone to pass the time with, right?" It was time to put her plan into action. She was a troll on a mission. Finding the info she wanted had become less a priority compared to flustering her new companion. The best outcome of the night, of course, was to attain both, but her focus was now on getting under Vremea's skin. Whether it was good or bad mattered little, just as long as Vremea remembered this little encounter for a while. It was always so much fun to get other trolls in a tizzy.

Vremea nodded, hiding a smirk. "I realized. You seemed like an energetic troll," She said, fidgeting with her neck-bow's laces and making sure it would not come off. She just felt uncomfortable when ever it was off. As if someone were going to cut her head off. It was just... Instinct. Looking towards the flirty troll, she waved off a blush. "Haha... Minist? Minist what?" she questioned, eyes looking at the troll curiously. She wasn't used to just knowing a persons first name— one name can't define a person wholy unless it wasn't used by anyone else in the whole universe.
Instantly her eyes brightened at the thought of helping someone out. "Your welcome. What is it?" She asked, trying to not show her excitement on her face. She loved helping people. It made her happy, seeing she was useful— what did Minist need her to do? Maybe she needed another book?
She was wrong. She looked at the troll as she got closer, her face changing from normal to confused. Listening to what Minist had asked, she casually stepped back and stood up straight. "Sure. What was it you needed again? Taking apart a machine or something of the sort?" She asked, sliding the book with the complex parts from her arms and walking to the nearest table, pulling out the chair and sitting down. She flipped open the book and leafed through the pages normally, scanning each page quickly for the passage she remebered reading some time ago.

"Minist Outill." she replied. She didn't really see the point of giving out the last name unless you were trying to be formal or some other stupid reason. It wasn't like people would call her by her full name, so why bother mentioning it? Still, if someone asked her what it was she saw no harm in telling them. It was just a name after all. Not like she didn't want anyone to know who she was.
She frowned as the "complex" book was taken from her. Following her to the table she sat next to her and set the books next to her. "It was a small engine. Can't find any access to the inside." she explained again as she picked up the book part shapes and opened it up. She would have preferred to look through the one that Vremea now held. That one sounded like the most interesting book out of the three. Still, she was the one that had asked for help and if she really wanted to she supposed she could just check out the book and look over it in her own hive. Scooting her chair a tad closer to Vremea she ran her finger down the pages as she skimmed for any interesting information.
