Three o-clock AM. The perfect time for a mission.
Clearly, if your name was Julie, and you had authority. Authority to control feeble trainee's lives with the push of a few buttons. Authority which she exploited time and again and really, why didn't anyone think of stopping her? TEXT FROM JULIE Please come to the kitchens ASAP (: It was only because noone thought of taking action that she could, of course, get away with texts like these.

Gale Gentry had been having a perfectly acceptable night (with the exception of the rather dark and dismal dreams), thank you very much.
At least until -
<< Gale. >>
"Mmph."
<< GALE. >>
A slight groan of irritation.
"What, Ginny?"
<< Your phone just beeped. >>
There was a creak as Gale rolled over in bed, getting tangled in the sheets in the process. A loud thunk as his hand hit the lamp instead of the phone, which was followed by a crash as he accidentally knocked said lamp over.
"Dammit."
His fingers finally found the phone and Gale dragged it towards him, peering fuzzily at the blue screen that was absurdly bright at (he checked the tiny numbers in the corner) three in the bloody morning.
It was from Julie. Of course it was from Julie.
Grumbling, swearing, and stumbling around in the darkness, Gale somehow miraculously managed to get dressed properly (though he tried to pull his shirt onto his legs twice before he realized) and once he stepped out into the dimly lit hallway he was mostly awake.
"Julie," he groaned, staggering into the kitchen. "It's three o'clock in the morning. What could you possibly need at three o'clock in the morning."

Eva was a morning person. "Morning" in her mind was 6am, maybe even 5am--what it definitely wasn't, however, was 3am.
A light sleeper, the beeping of her phone was enough to jolt the girl awake. Lifting her head, she glanced around blearily for a moment, her gaze falling finally falling on the cellphone that she had set on her desk. What...what is...? Her thoughts were groggy as she squinted at the object in the darkness. Had she just imagined the beeping noise? Chara, did you hear...
I think you received a text. Her weapon replied simply. There was a long pause of silence before Chara cleared her throat. Aren't you going to check? Maybe it's a text from Caelius demanding that you get down to the field within fifteen minutes. You know. The usual.
Groaning at this possibility, Eva threw off her covers, regretting the loss of warmth as she staggered her way towards her desk and grabbed the phone. She flipped it open, cringing at the sudden bright light that suddenly shone in her face. Momentarily blinded, she didn't even get to check who the text was from before she opened it up and skimmed it quickly.
...
"...Why does Caelius want me in the kitchen? Is my mission to make him a sandwich?" And for that matter, why did he end his text with a suspicious looking smiley--
--I don't think that's from Caelius. Chara interjected. Perking up, Eva checked the text again. Ah, right, it was from Julie (not that that made that smiley face any less suspicious--just slightly less malicious). While Julie was no Caelius, she was still a Hunter, which meant that it was Eva's duty to go as requested. She wouldn't do so without complaint--she had done a lot of grumbling in the process of getting dressed--but she would go.
Eva arrived at the kitchen just in time to hear Gale speak. So he had been called out too, had he? "Maybe she's hungry, Gale?" Eva offered her guess as she leaned against the doorway of the kitchen, "Or maybe...maybe..." Her eyelids fluttered, and then shut completely as she began to doze off again.
Slowly, the girl began to slide down along the doorframe

The beeping coming from the phone woke Jordan up, and he grumbled incoherently and considered going back to sleep. Not that he really would, but it was a nice thought. He plucked the phone off the nightstand and flipped it open, wincing a little at the brightness of the backlight.
... Julie. Julie and the kitchens. Again. At 3 AM this time. Jordan groaned and tossed the phone across the room. Then he got up, turned the lamp on, and got dressed.
Not long afterwards, he made his way into the kitchen; at least there was the possibility of coffee while he was here. He gave Gale and Eva a sympathetic what-you-too glance, and leaned against the wall. It was too early and he hadn't had anywhere near enough coffee to be making casual conversation.
Ferros yawned in his head and asked, Why are we awake?
Heck if I know. How could something without an actual mouth yawn like that? It was kind of bizarre.

"You made it!" Just mere moments earlier, Julie had been in the process of removing the internal organs of a new minipet that Clarice had so kindly given to her from the Life Hunter's own personal stash of minipets. Currently all that remained of said pet were an extremely said looking pair of eyes and two ears - everything else had been lopped off and was currently still in mid-dissipation process.
The Moon Hunter, still holding her butcher knife, beamed at the three assembled trainees. "You may be asking 'but Julie, what could be this important at this time?' Well I will tell you!" Here, she flourished her butcher knife, sending some questionable liquid gathered at the edges of the knife splattering everywhere. "I am running out of supplies."
Three blank stares.
"Minipet supplies!" Julie clarified, suddenly zooming in very close to the nearest target - Gale - one butcher knife in her hand as she grabbed his coat lapel and stared at him with overly-excited, almost rabid, eyes, "I need more minipets." A pause. "No wait, not just any minipets, I need the cutest, fluffiest minipets ever!"
Thankfully at this point, she had finally disentangled from Gale before he became part of tomorrow's mystery meat. "So I bid you three trainees adieu, all of you, as you go out, embark on a quest to Halloween to find me the cutest, fluffiest minipets ever."
She made goodbye waving gestures at the door before the trainees had even started thinking of exiting yet. OOC All trainees, feel free to make an exit post before checking out a golem HERE. Once you have, PLEASE MOVE TO THIS THREAD HERE and read/reply to the post there!

(Entering)
Dakota had received a late text from his moon assistant of the team asking him to come to the kitchen in which case, the last time he had come to the damn place, he ended up turning into a woman and then floating to the ceiling. (No really he should be use to them by now, always 3am...never not 3am)
Today proved to be equally disturbing. All he had to see was the three other trainee's heading out, Julie with a knife and some kind of organs before gagging.
Dammit.
Minipets? cute and fluffy and off they go. Anywhere but any closer to the rainbow version of Jason from Friday the 13th.

What. Supplies. What. It would probably be a better idea to nod, smile, and follow instructions. Jordan glanced at Gale and Eva - oh, and Dakota had been summoned for this, too, it seemed. At least he wasn't the only one being sent on this bizarre errand. He turned around and headed out of the room. [ Exiting]

And apparently it was just him that was going on the mission. Eva and Jordan came straggling in a few moments later, followed by Dakota, Eva looking as though she were falling asleep on the door and Jordan looking as though he wasn't entire certain what was going on. Gale reached out a hand and grasped Eva's upper arm, gently pulling her back up to keep her from slipping onto the floor.
Then he got a closer look at what exactly Julie was doing and Gale almost dropped Eva.
"Julie," he said, in a tone that was rather like an adult catching a little kid with their hand in the cookie jar. "What're you doing?"
And then suddenly she had grabbed him by his coat and was waving a bloody knife in front of his face.
Gale suddenly felt as if he were in a horror movie.
"Er," he said. "Could you possibly, er - let - go - yes, that's - yes, okay, thank you," he added, when she finally get go. But now he had was giving her another look:

Then he sighed, did what Jordan had done and nodded, smiled, and sleepily followed him out the door.

Opening her eyes slowly, Eva mumbled something unintelligible when Gale came over to help keep her upright--it might have been a "thank you"--before she sloooowly slid her gaze over towards Julie. She blinked at the Hunter sleepily before looking down towards her hand.
..........was that a bloody knife? Almost immediately, Eva's eyes popped open, her eyes darting from the girl, to the knife, and then to the bloody mess that was behind her.
The minute they were given their mission and were dismissed, Eva hightailed it out of there behind the others.

Julie was waiting for the trainees, still poised with the exact same kitchen knife. A jar of oh god it was best not to know was situated next to her, and she gave the returning trainees her brightest smile, not bothering to rinse off the multi-coloured stained counter. Her apron, well...
"You're back, oh thank you, these are the best minipets ever." The Moon Hunter emphasized this by giving each of the trainees the biggest Up Close And Personal hug. "Hmm.. I've put them in cages already, but they need to be cleaned up first." She walked over to the counter and gave the three trainees a skinning knife before pointing to the two foxfires, both of them seemingly staring very cutely and sadly at the trainees. "Just take one out and clean them while I get ready okay?" OOC Simply pick a cage (CAGE A = normal foxfire fruit coloured, CAGE B = Jove, blue-grey coloured) (quote Grey if you are picking Jove up so she can make a reaction post) and um... well... who knew that these guys were so slippery? - Roll a 6-sided dice, if you roll a 1 or 6, you succeed in picking up the pet, otherwise you fail in picking up the pet, and it escapes and begins to around yapping. - For ESCAPED pets, anyone can try to pick them up. Roll a 6-sided dice and select which pet you are targeting. IF 1 or 6, you succeed in picking them up.

As short-lived as it had been, Eva was glad to be back in her own body again. Once the others were out of the pods, she shot them a slightly nervous grin. "To be honest, I...I kind of wish I hadn't caught that thing, but I guess it's too late now. You don't think Julie would really..."
She trailed off with a small grimace. Then, shaking her head, she head out of the room back towards the kitchen, which was where she assumed Julie would be waiting for them. After all, from the sounds that had been coming over the headset, it was clear that Julie was still...um...
Well. You know.

A few confusing minutes later, Jove found himself dumped into a cage, and faced with a terrifying ghoul with a giant knife. Was that her reaper weapon? But she didn't smell like a reaper, or a demon... She smelled like...
The pup's ears fell, and his eyes went wide. Oh Jack. Peering through the bars of the cage, he tried to make some sense of his situation, but all he saw was the kitchen around him, and the smell of human. And he knew the last thing he should do at that moment was voice a protest.

"Yeah, I'm a little uneasy about it myself," Jordan replied, low-voiced. "They're just Fear creatures, but it's harder when they're cute and stupid." He shook his head and followed Eva back to the kitchen. ... where Julie handed them knives. And instructed them to clean the minipets. It took him a long moment to process this, and another moment to keep himself from sputtering WHAT out loud. Was this a test of some sort? He really hoped not. Squeamishness aside, he really didn't know what he was supposed to be doing; he'd never hunted anything that wasn't a monster, nor been confronted with raw meat still in animal form. Well. He guessed he could ask for further instruction once he'd picked one up. He hesitated in front of the cages, and couldn't quite make himself pick up the pale blue foxfire he'd caught. He'd take the brighter one instead. It attempted to bolt out of the cage, but he caught it by the scruff of the neck and tucked it under his arm; his aunt had owned three tiny, fluffy dogs, and he was well acquainted with the proper technique for grabbing a fast-moving ball of fur. That was half the problem in itself, though. "Uh. Julie? What exactly do you mean by cleaning them?" he asked. "I haven't done this before." Oh god, he really hoped that he didn't actually have to kill a creature that looked like a fiesta version of Goliath.

When he arrived back at the kitchens a bit later than everyone else (his stupid injury was making him slower than usual), Gale found Julie waving around a knife - and then a Very Awkward Hug.
"Okay - er - enough - Julie - "
Then she handed him a...knife...and...
"....er, what exactly are we...Julie..."
<< I think that's a foxfire. >>
...a w...never mind, I don't wanna know.
With a slightly apprehensive look on his face, Gale peered into the cages. Then he sighed, reaching into the first cage with a bit of a frown on his face.
"Come on, pup."

Eva did not seem pleased.
She nearly dropped the knife as it was handed to her, shooting Julie a look of pure horror. Holding the handle of the knife between her index finger and thumb, she managed to choke out a disbelieving, "I'm sorry, Julie, clean?" Surely they weren't expected to...? Though Eva wasn't sure why else anyone would hand them a skinning knife otherwise.
They're Halloween creatures, remember? Even if they are small...and adorable...and--
Enough, Chara. Her expression screwed up in a grimace as she stepped up between Jordan and Gale, watching as the two successfully pulled the fluffy pups from the cages. It was strange--they could fight human-looking creatures from that world with no problem, but when they looked like this? Well, then that was a different story.
