Elise Leynthall
Age: 15
Birthdate: December 13th
Appearance For her age Elise is rather slight, standing at around 5'3, weighing roughly 100lbs and from the looks of it not growing much further. Her skin is a smooth creamy colour, slightly darker when she gets sun but in the winter is it common for her to look quite pale. She has a fragile, doll-like look to her, like porcelain that might break if you handle it too roughly. Her facial features do nothing to combat this image, the comparison to which has been brought to her attention countless times. Her eyes are rather large, hazel-green framed by dark lashes over a petite nose and small, rose shaded lips. Her face could be pretty, but in the way a child is lovely, not a women. The youthful look of her face and her small frame often result in her being treated as younger than she is. Her face is framed by by dark brown tresses, mildly wavy and usually kept (as society dictates) up in a bun, albiet a somewhat messy one.
Personality: Not having a great deal of experience with other people save for her immediate family, Elise is rather shy upon meeting new faces, she is polite, if a bit quiet and though she so very badly wishes she could be more outgoing and friendly, she doesn't quite know how to react to others her own age and it leaves her feeling insecure. To adults, she is a polite and well put together girl and though her conversations with adults are often much duller, she finds it almost easier to converse with them since she knows what is expected of her and finds it easy enough to play along. To those nearer her own age, Elise can be shy and often feels the sensation that she is just barely able to keep her head above water when she is in conversation with them.
For those that do manage to persuade her out of her shell, they will find a deeply inquisitive mind, desperate for knowledge and stories. She is always eager to learn anything about nearly any subject, and can keep up a constant flow of questions to sate her curiosity.
History: Born in a particularly bad winter Elise was born prematurely, that she survived at all was considered a miracle. Her mother did not fare so well, and died during childbirth - something not uncommon during this age but tragic all the same. A little while passed before they could find a wet nurse for Elise and she was raised as much on cow's milk as breast milk, giving her not quite the amount of nutrients as was needed for an infant. Due to this and the prematurity of her birth Elise has a weak heart and slightly underdeveloped lungs. As a child she was often sickly, coming down with any number of ailments and bedridden much of the time. She saw the doctor about as much as she saw her father. Even when she was not beset with some sickness, she was still not like other children. She would often watch longingly from her window as they raced through the streets and picnicked in the fields. Too much physical exertion on her part sent her heart into rapid palpitations and her lungs struggling for air. It was not uncommon for her to black out if she ran too far, and so she was often forbidden to go out on her own. Because of this she never had many friends, as the only people her father trusted to watch her were her two elder brothers. They were caring, and fun in their own way but still no substitute for friends the same age.
And so instead she turned to books, becoming very literate quite rapidly - after all what else was one to do when confined to bed for so many days? She buried herself in stories, reading everything she could get her hands on. Her favourites were the adventure stories, tales of princes and princess, pirates and distant lands. Places she would never go, things she could never do, all these dreams lived themselves out in her fantasy world of her books. At the age of 12 her family moved to a small acreage on the outskirts of the Palisade, and once away from the industrial smog and other general grubbiness of the city her health improved immensely and she no longer subject to sickness at every turn and found her breathing and stamina improved. She still falls ill far more easily and often than most people however, and still cannot run for a long time or do heavy labour but she is no longer bedridden and confined indoors. Finally, she was allowed to be outside, to go places without constant supervision and have some semblance of independence in her life.

Venn Personality: Protective and loyal, Venn takes the idea of being a guardian quite literally. He is always by Elise's side no matter what she seems to be doing, ready to lend support should she need it. However he is also the force that often pushes her to explore beyond her comfort zone and widen her boundaries.
