I was having a rather heated discussion with someone who was a firm believer that we shouldn't use the term "LGBT[QIA][add.any.other.letters.you.want]" because it's, as they mentioned, "too confusing and offensive." According to them, we should just use "heterosexual and non-heterosexual."
My response:
"No. What the F$#% kind of suggestion is that? Do you want to call it 'male and non-male', or perhaps 'female and non-female'? What about 'American and non-American'? Or maybe 'Caucasian and non-Caucasian'? Or how about fancying 'Christian and non-Christian'? Your suggestion is simply a give-in on the weak binary that is 'LABELS.' The majority takes the standard, while the minority gets sub-par recognition. Yes, I understand that it's always been that way, but stripping a community of their individual identity and slapping another that's just as, if not more offensive than your mere presence, especially one as personal as sexual orientation, is none of your business. You want to label us? Fine. Go ahead. But don't become bitchy and defensive when someone else labels you. Instead, take a long-winded chance at getting your Master's Degree in Ignorance; it's something you're natural at."
... .. .
Their friend: "... Owned."
Didn't take long for them to shut the F$#% up.

That is some very serious owning right there. xD
I wonder if they'd be okay with homosexual and non-homosexual.
And how is using more letters to describe more groups offensive? o_O;

Is it bad that I look forward to any and all of your rants? They're all very good reads and always seems to cover every point. I humbly offer my fist to bump in respect of you and your ability to argue on the behalf of what is just. emotion_brofist

airforce_freak6678 Just out of curiosity, was this someone straight? Hell if I know. I was playing zOMG. We were doing Sawmill runs when this [presumably male (judging by his Avi)] p***k decided to join our conversation as we were about to enter. And yes, my paragraph was segmented due to the fact that there is such little room to type in the zOMG chat.
