Name of the contract: The Great Eels
Nature of the summons: Sea serpents and eels
Description: The great eels each have their own personality, their own requirements, and their own style.
Origin: And underwater grotto
Signature form: The user is bitten by each of the 6 Great Eels. Their bites leave a tattoo.
Physical requirements: None (But getting the contract is hard)
Psychological requirements: The snakes are all hedonist. They will only follow those who bring them closer to the thing that brings them pleasure.

The great eels are a sly bunch. They each care for a different thing, and only work for those who can provide it. In order to win their contract, one must venture far into the depths of Kirigakure, which is why many Hoshigaki find themselves allied with them. That and the fact that the Hoshigaki have taught the eels some Jutsu.

To find the Eels:
Awareness DC 17 (Kiri Local) or 27 (Foreigner) to find the location of the Eels x10
Checks to avoid drowning. (These checks can be avoided if you can breath underwater.)

Below we have Kurai. The flying serpent. She is in truth, a sea snake, one of the adopted members of the family. Long ago cursed to never again touch the ground or water as she once did. And she is fine with it.
Kurai demands one thing and one thing only, coin. 1 Ryo for a simple task, 1 Ryo to summon her, 10 Ryo if she kills the target, 5 if she incapacitates it. However, she also enjoys the touch of a woman, and for that she may cut her prices. She is a shameless pervert filled with lust and greed. She is also a shameless thief and often steals what she thinks she has earned.

30 -- Water (FREAKING LEVIATHAN GOES HERE)

That way they are attainable.

You can't fly using magnetism.

I'm not opposed to the summon being called on land but it should suffer from the same effects (drowning) that people do underwater and suffer a movement penalty. Basically the same effects that apply to land creatures when they fight underwater.

I'm not opposed to the summon being called on land but it should suffer from the same effects (drowning) that people do underwater and suffer a movement penalty. Basically the same effects that apply to land creatures when they fight underwater.


This one is meant to be a land based. This one hovers, the next one crawls, the next one burrows, the next one swims, but needs air, the next two are actually eels by the standard definition.

I guess sea snakes is a more appropriate name for the group ...

Twere I a man of wealth of taste, I would merely add a stipulation of having a drowning penalty unless a water source is nearby, (water sky convergence) and other such water jutsu suitable as a substitute. Otherwise this a lovely little number and I see no trouble. You'd need to go into more detail on the contract in general though wouldn't you?

Also, if you really wanted to remove the limitation to water, just have them know the Ningen no Keshin Jutsu. It's old system, but I made it and since it's already passed should be easy enough to get passed again. I'm still counting my summon as knowing it. The training stages are the only thing that would need to be revamped anyway, so it's really just a technicality. It's a pet jutsu, but it allows summons to use it for reduced chakra cost and requirements, since they're even closer to humans already. It allows animals to take human form thus, I think, bypassing your problem yes?
