What's this? What's this?! It's holiday shopping and the Annual Amityville School Play! Or at least it was until...
Christmas came to town.

 The Story so far...
Amityville The Amityville School Play was doing strangely well (excluding fire damage) until the lights went dark and the Rat King and it's festive army appeared! It looks like the Cafeteria has been overrun as well! And wait...snow? Is snow supposed to be this...glittery? And where did this barrier come from?
The real danger and target of the Rat and Pudding appear to be the school infirmary's pumpkin patch! If they aren't kept busy and weakened, students may no longer be able to respawn!
When the music stops, so do the Christmas creatures, but when they come back...they're different.
Once again the music stops, but this time the silence is short lived as something terrible gathers and grows above the school...
The Maul The Maul's big day of savings has been cut short as the imported Christmas tree comes to life and begins attacking, spawning mobs that run amok through the Maul! Boils and ghouls are should make a hasty exit, but sadly all the exits are blocked!
The real danger and target of the Tree and Gingerbread House appear to be the Maul FEAR clinic's pumpkin patch! If they aren't kept busy and weakened, shoppers may no longer be able to respawn!
Twice now the Christmas creatures have stopped moving completely, all at once. But then they come back, and when they come back...they're different.
As the fights continue, the shoppers find themselves tiring, and then, suddenly...at the entrances of the Maul, there was a great crash, and cloaked figures began to make their way through, destroying Christmas creatures in a smooth, organized wave of controlled violence. Throughout the Maul, the Boogeymen have begun to take down the enemies, as well as ushering out the previously trapped shoppers.
In the news...It appears that Amityville and the Maul are not the only places under attack!

General Rules & Infos
You can treat this event as a battlefest, you can choose to just treat it as a traditional rp-prompt event, you can treat it as both. You can make long-term groups with other players, or quickie pick-up groups. You can stay in one place poking at a boss, or skip around like an ADHD muppet. You can be active the entire event or just for a day or two. Even if you don't participate at all, you can still refer to your character as "being there."
This event will be for your character what you choose to make of it. Drama? Comedy? Romance? Communicate what you want and go for it! And maybe help others with their own character plots along the way.
New prompts will be posted in this thread, so be sure to check it out whenever there's a new post!
There are no sign-ups for this event! Your character can only be in one rp at a time, so be sure to post their entering from/exiting to informations. Label your RPs clearly! examples: [Maul PRP] [School ORP] [Maul Solo] Quote notify and bold the names of other characters you're interacting with if you don't want to get ignored. Grouping is organized by players. This means you can form long-term or short term groups with other characters. Communicating with other players is very important! Both the Maul and School are locked areas. Meaning that if your character was in the Maul or at the School, then they may no longer leave that area. (ORPs/PRPs/Solos running around within that area is still fine) Be sure to read the first post of the main orps to know understand that area's rules and current situation! If you have a general problem or question, go ahead and ask in the main forum's QnA. If you have a more serious or unique issue, PM lizbot, zoomutt, or marushii. COMMUNICATION IS A+! + standard gaia, B&C, and TIH rules
What Good Communication Can Do For You! You can plan things in detail or simply react to whatever is going on, but taking the leap and asking for what you want can lead to great fun and character building scenarios. This sort of thing is completely viable: Jimmy is in the cafeteria and gets a few hits in, but then decides to go check out the demon dorms and make sure everything ok, he and his friend Bobby head out of the boss battle (it doesn't seem to be weakening gdi) to check things out. On the way there they encounter a freakish elf with a candy cane knife! (This is because bobby's player requested a quickie battle, and another played obliged!) BATTLE ON! Elf gets shanked by Jimmy's mad skillz. After the battle they pick up another student, Susie (because her player just came on and wanted in on the fun) ~ together the three heroes reach the Demon Dorms and find themselves confronted by the powerful and awe-inspiring Yellow Santa Scout (because Susie, said, hey, you guys, lets do this right! and requested a GM'd sub boss) who then fights like a pro, kills bobby, breaks jimmy's arm (because they requested danger and traumaz) and nearly kills susie and wipes out the whole party, except then the cavalry arrives in the form of Steve (because Bobby's player posted in-thread saying "dude, we are getting ******** here someone help us out") and the boss is defeated yay! Steve and Susie hook up and make out for a day or so, and then decide to bust some ballerina a** in the theatre ~ HURRAH!

The stage went dark, and now it appears that Christmas is attacking the entire school! Music can be hear playing continuously all over campus. Outside, snow is falling! It's so pure, and white, and glittery! It's little bit disgusting really! Surrounding the school is a thick, solid barrier that nothing can seem to pass through! It seems like glass but you can't really see anything outside it! If you fly up you'll find that the barrier is a giant dome over the school, that you still can't escape from! If you dig down...well you can't! The ground is strangely solid today!
The Maul
The tree at the center of the Maul has animated and started spawning attacking mobs of the Christmas persuasion! Is this some kind of promotional event?! Familiar songs are playing all around but the lyrics are all wrong, and now Halloween-ful at all! Those who try to leave will find all exits blocked by giant wreaths and tree branches! Maul security measures also prevent anyone from attempting to phase or warp through them! Attempts to burn them away just causes the sprinkler system and fire alarm to go off!

The music that had been playing non-stop throughout the school has finally stopped. Everything is quiet and still for a moment, but then...you hear it. And when you hear it, you being to feel it too. Something ticking and clicking away beneath your foot. The vibrations of massive gears rumbling away far below. No new enemies appear. But the strange barrier remains.
The Maul
The Christmas Critters seem to have given up or gone away, but the Maul is still locked down tight! No new enemies appear! Is this the beginning of the end or the calm before the storm?

The Maul is now open! Shoppers are free to leave, or remain and attempt to hold their own amongst the boogeymen as they take down the holiday invaders! Students who try to enter Amityville will find that not only is the school missing, but that Boogeymen have blocked minors from entering the area! Horsemen, ToTers, and school staff members not currently trapped inside the school do have access.

The music once again goes quiet all over campus, and in the silence, the turning of gears growls and grinds deep underground seems louder than ever. And then even louder until the air is vibrating with the thunderous rhythm. The forms of defeated foes soon begin to waver and then...not quite dissipate, but rather turn misty, into a fog of sorts. The wisps of their remains travel outward and upward, until the sky above the school is dark with the restless fog.
Some students may find it...familiar. And when the clockwork cacophony shifts and twists, subtly, ever so slowly into a chorus of terrible, dark whispers...it becomes very familiar indeed.
The air is soon full of hundreds of voices, a speaking at once in a maddening hum of confusion, anger, and a crushing, mind-numbing loneliness.
