It was the middle of the "day", which actually meant darkness for the land of Twilight. It was a rather comfortable temperature, if not, just slightly colder. The Castle of Twilight itself rested on what looked like a small mountain, the castle taking up the center of the mountain and up to the point. Of course, however, the Princess of Twilight was usually never found in the castle. Today, she was walking along the shoreline of the dark ocean behind the castle, looking out at the moonlit waters. Her pure white hair and rather fair skin contrasted greatly against the gray sands of the beach. Dressed in a long white kimono dress with black rose designs, she glanced down at the sand grits that surrounded her bare feet. It was a weird habit, yet she rarely wore shoes. With a small shrug, Yuki shifted her crimson gaze back to the dark waters, feeling the gentle ocean breeze sift through her long ivory hair.

Kageru had been walking slightly behind her, his arms crossed across his stomach. The earring in his left ear glinted slightly, while Tsurugi, possibly the largest sword anyone had seen, stay still, looking almost dull strapped to his back. When Yuki stopped to look out at the lake, he stopped as well, looking around, casting his black gaze around the area. His blonde hair swayed a little in what wind there was as he looked out at the lake with Yuki. His entire outfit was black, with black clothe covering his left arm, coming down from his pauldron on his left shoulder.

"Kageru... Tell me... Do you ever think this threat of a war will cease?... Will we ever go back to that time of peace before all of this unnecessary bloodshed?..." she asked, her rather soft voice just above the sound of the dark ocean waves. She never spoke very loudly, but that was just the way she spoke. The waters of the ocean washed against the shore, reaching just up to Yuki's bare feet and cleaned them of sand, the cold child of the water not bothering her. Actually, the icy touch felt quite refreshing.

Kageru looked at Yuki slightly before looking back out at the waves. "It depends on humanity. It's in our nature to fight, so the likelihood of total peace is slim to none. That's just how humans are." he replied, his voice, if it were someone else, was surprisingly not gruff, or deep, more a mild man's voice.

Yuki only sighed at the answer and sat down in the sand, keeping her eyes on the ocean waves as they rolled up to her, stopping just a few inches from reaching her ivory dress. "Well I guess you're right on that part..." she admitted, running a hand through her hair, twirling a few locks of hair. She was quiet for a bit before looking up at Kageru and patted the sand beside her. "You can sit if you'd like," she said with a small giggle, a gentle look in her odd, pale crimson eyes.

Looking down at her for a moment, he did nothing. Standing there, he scratched the side of his head before taking Tsurugi off his back, stabbing it into the ground to his left before sitting down next to her. He was leaning back slightly, his left hand behind him supporting his body. His left leg was out straight, while his right leg was pulled up, his right forearm balanced on his knee. "Don't take offense to this, but I am wondering..Why are you always so kind to me? I did nothing to deserve it." he said, his voice still softer than his face said his voice was.

"Well you did nothing to deserve strict orders or punishment either," she countered with a gentle smile. "Even if I am Princess, it doesn't mean that I have to be cruel and cold-hearted, even for living in the land of Twilight. I'm kind to you as I'm kind to all of the people unless they truly deserve to be treated otherwise." Yuki looked back out at the ocean for a bit with the same gentle smile. Then the corner of her lips seemed to twitch. A sudden wave of water rolled up along the sand and rushed over Kageru's head, but the stream of water only washed over him and no where else on the shore, even clearly missing Yuki who was but only a few feet to the side.

Kageru put on a pouting kind of face after the water washed over him, his hair drooping with the weight of the water. Slowly, a small slender snake with dragon like wings materialized on his right bicep, almost looking like it was laughing. 'She's quite feisty.' it said in Kageru's head, chuckling. Kageru didn't answer, only running a hand through his hair, respiking it. It might not have been noticed, but there was a small smile on his face.

Yuki giggled at Kageru, smiling wider as he respiked his hair. "You know I can always make it flat again," she pointed out, but she wouldn't do that. She like his hair spiky. She paused for a moment and shifted so she was facing him rather than the ocean, leaning in just a little as if to get a closer look at him. "Aha! I spy with my little eye a smile~" she teased. She paid no mind to the snake-dragon as she's seen it before, if only a few times, but at least she noticed it was sort of laughing.

"Hm? What smile?" he asked, quickly hiding the smile. 'Smooth...' the snake dragon chuckled in Kageru's head, to which, he flicked the dragon's forehead.

Yuki smiled wider and rested the tips of her fingers on the back of Kageru's hand after he flicked the dragon's forehead. Her touch was slightly colder than expected, at least to those who didn't know Yuki/get this close to her. She held her hand on his for a moment before flicking Kageru's forehead like he had flicked the dragon's. "That one~" she said. Then she got to her feet quickly in a single swift movement, the white and black silk dress cascading around her figure quite elegantly. "Try and catch me. I dare you," Yuki challenged before just taking off along the sands of the beach. While running, she moved closer to the water so it would wash up to at least her ankles before hoping on what looked like a small surfboard made of ice that just 'happened' to appear. Using the waves, she started to glide across the water along the shoreline (compared to actually surfing and going way out into the ocean).

Kageru blinked for a moment before standing, taking off after her. The familiar disappeared with a chuckle, but Kageru paid him no mind, trying to catch up to Yuki instead.

Yuki couldn't help giggling as she surfed across the water's edge, glancing behind her at Kageru. "You're gonna have to be faster than that!" she called back to him. The waves beneath the ice board seemed to roll faster along the shoreline. Her white hair stood out brightly against the darkened scenery that was the land of Twilight, just as her ivory and ebony dress stood out against the dark waters and sand, making it nearly impossible to lose sight of her.

Kageru kept chasing her, soon tripping over almost nothing, and faceplanted the sand.
