The Chosen
The Chosen are a powerful group of Nature, Cold, Heat, Earth, and Water users that have chosen to dwell on the Surface. The Chosen are essentially a cult of sorts that worships the powers of the Cores and has chosen to Embrace the change in the world. They live throughout the forests in groups, able to withstand some of the heaviest radiation points on the planet.
Using their powers, the Chosen seem to somehow be able to command the creatures of the forest, as well as somehow have been able to draw a far stronger amount of power from their Shards. Though, they see the Shards as relics, items of religious and ritual importance.
This has caused them to despise the Bastion and it's people. The Bastion's people use the Shards as a source of energy instead of Electricity, Gas, and Oil. The Chosen find this horrible, as if the Bastion is sucking the life out of people. So, they now pose a great threat to the Bastion, sending their beasts to the Bastion to terrorize, as well as trying to get into the Bastion itself to steal back the Shards. They think it an act of Heroism, the Bastion's people see it as a danger to Humanity.
