"Earth, our home, the place we have been since we began. People like to think that we know so much about Earth, what it's made of, why it's round, and why it spins 'round. But I guess they were wrong, 'cause when that day came, and the Cores came to life....everything changed"
It's been about a Year now since the Cores came to life; giant crystal-like pillars that rose up out of the ground and tore apart the world. In that first day millions of people died, frozen into stone, turned to ash, or simply faded out of existence. Then came the days after, where the Cores began to spread. A massive Crystal Forest grew up over what was Russia, China, and India.
"I don't know how long we've been running, but it just keeps growing, and more people keep dying. We heard rumors that somewhere the crystals won't grow, and thats where everyone is going. To the Bastion"
Bastion. It was the last safe place in the world from the Cores and what spewed from them.
Nightmare beasts began to crawl from the crystals, eating up anything that tried to stop them. It was as if Hell itself was knocking at the door of Mankind.
Bastion. A huge city that floated high above the land in the clouds, the Cores couldn't reach us there. Or at least...thats what everyone thought until someone broke a Core.
"I've never seen things like this before....like ice is raining from the sky...."
Huge pieces of the Core rained down all over the world, and onto the Bastion. That was the day that we all found out what the Cores could do. We who remained became empowered, enlightened, addicted.
Now is your chance to step in. Save the world as it slowly collapses in on itself. Protect the Bastion from the monsters that try to make it fall. Harness the power of the Core to your will.
