TIM Pointed this out to me. On January 17th, 2007, there was a great meeting with Mother before she left our world. It involved the leaders who signed the peace treaty earlier on. In this meeting which you can read the transcript of here. Mother stated Gaia would have five years of freedom before she and the zurg will intervene and try to save us. Do we think this will come to any fruition?

But wow, I've sort of forgot about that. I wonder if they'll come back and try to take us over in January.

January 17th, 2012, three months from now, I'll be ready to deal with whatever it is that happens.
...Meaning, yes, I don't believe it's just coincidence that there's been a UFO sighting so close to the five year mark. We've got to be ready. Things are going to get crazy.

Mokoni Five years would be next year. Keep in mind that January is VERY early in 2012. We've got 2 months 26 days 10 hours 50 minutes 58 seconds until then. Roughly. Anyway, I believe the date was approximate, rather than exact. Also... if memory serves, the five-year date wasn't the amount of time before Mother swoops in and intervenes, it was the amount of time we'd have before we destroyed ourselves, provided she DIDN'T swoop down and intervene. But it has been a while, so perhaps I should review the transcripts. Anyway, here is a countdown. Reviewing the transcripts. It turns out she said we had LESS than five years. So I guess that timer I posted should be thought of as the maximum time we have left. Here's a brief chunk of the transcript from five years ago that tells how Mother thinks everything will go down. Quote: The Iron Magus: Without your interference, Mother, how long do you predict our society has to live before we destroy ourselves? [NPC] alien_mothership: IF MY CALCULATIONS ARE CORRECT, LESS THAN 5 YEARS FROM NOW The Iron Magus: What do you forsee happening at that time? [NPC] alien_mothership: G-VIRUS The Iron Magus: Mother, I am already a carrier of the G-Virus. As you can see it does not affect my ability to function [NPC] alien_mothership: IT IS MERELY THE BEGINING. GAMBINO WILL NOT STOP HIS EXPERIMENTS The Iron Magus: Then the answer is obvious. Gambino must be gotten rid of. We will not allow one man to bring us down. [NPC] alien_mothership: IT'S NOT ONLY GAMBINO. WE DO NOT HAVE ALL THE DATA, BUT THERE ARE GREATER EVIL IN THE WORKS So, not very definite. She blames Gambino, but he's already dead. (I think). She also blames his experiments, so it might be something he or his research has already created. And of course, there is the "greater evil" which could be anything. On an unrelated note, I never bought the idea that Diedrich was Gambino. The eyebrows, man. The eyebrows.
Back on the subject... Didn't he keep reproducing himself? So many grunny clones might cause some sort of disturbance. But again, if it's him that brings this whole thing back, I'm going to have to punch someone.
