Since there are SO many gemstones out there, I decided to have a discussion in regards to how to arrange them and which we would use as our primary positions. Now, we just need a vote! If you have any comments about the formats listed, go ahead and post. Format 1: "Good vs. Evil" Each of the 12/13 gemstones has an evil counterpart to account for the second birthstone of each month (for instance, May's birthstones are Emerald and Chrysoprase, so one is a "core" senshi and the other is the evil counterpart of that senshi depending on who requests what and when they request it). If anyone needs clarification on this, I'm down.
The second birthstone of each month could also be something other than just evil, depending on what you guys think of this format. They could be the outer senshi, or minor characters, whatever. Format 2: Have 13 "core" senshi and let the remaining gemstones and their positions be decided on by the members playing them. In other words, have 12 (or 13) core senshi as "inners" and have everyone else be "outers."
Format 3: Have a group of Inners, Outers, Villians, Minors, Neutrals, and Oracles assigned to each of the gemstones. Further explanation of this format can be found here.
List of BirthstonesJanuary - Garnet, Rose Quartz February - Amethyst, Onyx March - Aquamarine, Bloodstone April - Diamond, Quartz May - Emerald, Chrysoprase June - Pearl, Moonstone, Alexandrite July - Ruby, Carnelian August - Peridot, Sardonyx September - Sapphire, Lapis October - Opal, Tourmaline November - Topaz, Citrine December - Tanzanite, Zircon, Turquoise [ source]

Question? What about the Knights? You know, like Tuxedo Mask? Since you know... would be weird to have a male playing one of the Senshi >.>

Rako the Dark One Question? What about the Knights? You know, like Tuxedo Mask? Since you know... would be weird to have a male playing one of the Senshi >.> By definition, senshi really means warrior, soldier, etc... so that includes knights. Sailor senshi, on the other hand, would be specific to the female scouts. In this instance though, when I say senshi I'm referring to the knights as well.
From what I understand, each senshi has a knight, so it wouldn't really matter how the senshi were arranged; I guess if there were an inner senshi, then the knight would be an... inner knight? Same with an evil senshi/evil knight, unless anyone has some alternative ideas for the knights. Did that help any, or...?

Just make sure folks get a Senshi's permission before making their Knight. Not everyone wants to be mated off to random people xD

What if your senshi is a lesbian or your knight is gay?

iSuper Moon What if your senshi is a lesbian or your knight is gay? Thank you for asking!
As of now, the main purpose of the knights is to serve as a protector/warrior. I'm hoping to expand on this in the future, so those of you who are knights... feel free to speak up!
The romantic end of the knights, however, is entirely optional and really depends on the two roleplayers in that duo and what they want. Just because you have a knight, or you're the knight of a senshi, does not mean they must be your romantic interest. My sailor senshi is bisexual, and when she did have a knight, he was in no way her romantic interest as she was lusting after another female senshi. He still worked with her in battle and they were still a team, but they never dated. I personally am fine with a knight being Sailor Sapphire's romantic interest, but it really depends on the knight.
One thing I'm thinking about doing is asking each person who applies as a Sailor Senshi if they want their knight to be a romantic interest. If they do, then I will be sure to include that information next to their character on the official list. That way, if a knight applies for a role but does not want to be a romantic interest, then they won't apply for that senshi's role.
Also, if a knight applies for a role that currently does not have a senshi to it (ex. Sailor Tourmaline is an open role, so there is no specification on the romantic interest aspect), then I will let that applicant decide if the duo will be a romantic pair or not.
So... once I have the two positions set up, I'll ask that they talk to each other a little and just get an idea of who their characters are. I guess what I'm trying to do is avoid a situation where the Senshi and her knight hate each other but still make it fair... lol.
Did that help any? smile

Ok! Because I was thinking that if I became Emerald, her knight would be her gay best friend.

My opinion on knights in the past has been, a knight should always protect and serve his sailor senshi. Usually this involves some sort of romantic connection, but it could also be another type of bond, such as familial.
Or it could be unrequited love, which is how I usually play Tay. Tay loves his princess, but realizes that it's very unlikely he'll ever be loved back.
As in all relationships, it takes two. You can't force a relationship.

Bad idea. There's nothing wrong with this, as long as the idea is mutually agree'd apon by the two RPrs. If the person playing Sailor X wants a romantic relationship with their knight, and someone picks up the knight and plays him as gay or uninterested, that can be frustrating. There's lots of ways to play the relationship, the important thing is that both RPers like how its being played. The Knight/Senshi relationship, when it exists, is kinda important to one's back story . So if one of them already exists, anyone wanting to do the other should get permission, and consult with them on back story. Usually this will mean getting permission from a Senshi to play a knight, but if the knight was created first, the opposite would be true.

Maybe I should include "family relationship" as an option so that people don't think that they can't have that as a possibility. Honestly, any type of relation between the sailor senshi and knight is fine with me, I just want to make sure that both applicants are aware of such a relation before requesting the role. Whether or not they want the relationship to be set from the very beginning or to develop over time will be up to the two of them when I have them talk to each other first. ^^
I really like the way you see it, will say. I've always loved the unrequited love storyline; that's how I used to treat my situation with the old Sapphire knight. He loved Sailor Sapphire, but she never returned the feelings.

Either way, still pretty funny. x)
P.S. Good way of explaining the set-up, Ranluka.
