Mission: Same Old, Same Old!

Shinzu Akara, Batsu Wanntabe, Masaraku Hoshigaki, and Seiko have been called to appear before the Ninja Council. Upon thier arrival the lead councilman opens a scroll, explaining to them thier next mission. Intel has reported that a known Kiri criminal gang has established a new base aproximately fourteen kilometers from Kirigakure. Shinzu has been chosen to lead the mission, with Batsu acting as team Medic and Seiko has been added on to gain some experience in a live ninja mission before graduating. They are to infiltrate the area around the base and then conduct a raid upon the base to destroy it and capture the criminals.

Stage I: Infiltration
- Search for the base, whilst traveling with a heavy pack. Awareness DC: 43 5/5
- Survey the area, begin planning the Raid, and alert the council that the base has been found. Survival DC: 36 3/3

Stage II: The Raid
- Conduct the Raid, capture the Criminals.
- Gather any intel and return to the village.

Temporary Equipment Given: Scroll containing

Special Rules: During Stage I the team must work together to find the base, so all rolls will be added together, and if it surpasses the DC then that counts as one.

Shinzu knew it was a mission the second he got the message from the council, what other reason did the council have to talk to anyone? He was surprised to not see neither a Jonin, or a Chuunin there, and an Academy Student instead. Shinzu was shocked when the councilman said he was to lead the mission. Why him? Didn't the village have plenty of Jonin and Chuunin who could lead this mission? Apparently not, or the simply didn't consider it that important of a mission, which sort of insulted Shinzu in a way. Regardless he nodded his acceptence of the mission, and his role in it. He hoped Chuunin exams wouldn't be too far off, and getting to lead a mission such as this would prepared him fairly well for it. After the Councilman finished telling them the mission, Shinzu gathered the scroll containing the means to report to the council, and a map of the area they where to recon and launch the raid. From there he turned to the others and walked out of the room.

Once everyone was into the hallway outside of the council's chambers, Shinzu turned to face his squad. "Alright, I need to know two things before we set out. What does everyone have equipment wise, and does anyone object to me being in charge?" The first question was rather routine, but the second... Shinzu was supposed to be equals with all of them, even if the Kayuga was just a Student, it was close enough. He wanted to know theat he had thier confidence and that they would trust him to lead them. If they didn't... Well he'd go back into the Council Chamber and cancle the mission, and face the consequences.

Masa had kept her peace in the council, but when Shinzu reiterated his leadership outside she said, "I have a major problem with it. I already know I am stronger than you, I've proven it before. I mean sure you put up a fight, but either you have problems hitting a girl, or your just plain scared of me, because you just stood there and took it. I don't want to be lead be somebody like that. Imagine what it will be like when we get there if you perform like you did with me. You'll die." She was just being realistic, nothing she had said was false necessarily, although some of it sugar coated. "And don't you dare say, thats why we have a medic, because we have an academy student to babysit as well. One hit from the enemy and he's dead too. Batsu couldn't fight his way out of a paper box if it came down to close combat, and as awesome as I am, I think twenty against one would bury any genin." She looked around for a consensus of agreement. "That said, I'll let you play leader, but the second I sense an ounce of hesitation from you Shinzu .... you'll be lucky if the enemy gets to you before I do." Now that she had all of that out she added, "And I think the three of us know eachother well enough now to know what we're bringing to the table, the only mystery left is what Peewee has for us, and seeing as he is a Kaguya, there isn't a whole lot of mystery there at all." She sighed heavily as she thought about one day having an all female shinobi squad that didn't include dumbasses ...

Meanwhile, Batsu just stood there letting his other two teammates fight over the leadership position. He wanted no part in this quarrel. Masaraku was right, he wasn't exactly the fighting type. However, he knew that Shinzu would be the better leader. When it came to brute strength, he knew Masaraku would win hands down. However, Shinzu actually had intelligence and in his opinion, that was way better than fighting with recklessness.

Batsu looked in his bag and pulled out bandages, a few kunai, and a vial of fire jellyfish poison. Once he stayed in the hospital and helped out more, he'd have access to stronger ones... maybe he'd get the toxin of a blue-ringed octopus. Getting Masaraku to shut up for a change would be refreshing.

The young Kaguya would listen quietly as the mission details were given to whom was referred to as his 'superiors'. Coming up in his family it was a trait that was sort of beaten into you. However when they left the room and the conversations started in the corridor, things would be a little different.

Since Karasu didn't really know any of them and didn't know why he was assigned to this mission, he had no objections to the boy that spoke up first being the leader. But he clearly wasn't the only opinion. The girl with the colored skin, that clearly had a superiority complex made a point to argue his leadership. Karasu's expression would droop as he became annoyed by this girls tongue. He just kind of mumbled to himself.
"If she is half as strong as she is loud there shouldn't be much of a problem." But despite his annoyance with her, he thought it best if he didn't pick any fights. She was probably right. As much as he hated to admit it, he was the weak link in the team.

Shinzu wasn't too surprised when it came to Masaraku's opinion, but she didn't quite realize yet that there was more to leading then being the most effective in battle. Then again that was due more to her being a Hoshigaki then anything else, which really couldn't be helped. The one thing that made Shinzu remotely unhappy was that she sad he just took her hits, never mind that he had fought to the end, and given her face quite the kick. If her teeth didn't grow back her newly imperfect smile would've shown his determination. Regardless of what she thought, Shinzu was in charge, and he knew he could count on Batsu to back him up. Now that he'd gotten a rough approval from everyone Shinzu went into planning mode.

Ok so he had Himself, Masaraku, and Batsu, the Student was fresh faced so he couldn't count on him too awefully much. Who was the best at finding things, or otherwise noticing something is out of place? That would be Batsu, as he often fought at longer range at had to tell between friend and foe at distance. So that meant Batsu would lead the way, and since Shinzu knew how good his tracking abilities were, he'd stay behind him. That just left Masaraku, and the Student. Since he was the most vulenerable the student couldn't be counted on to stay in the back, so Masaraku would cover the rear and the Student would be between her and Shinzu.

"Alright everyone here's the plan..." Shinzu said, as he held up the map he had been given and set about explaining the marching order, and how they'd go about finding the base. As he finished he looked each member in the eye, trying for a calm and cool intimidation. He wasn't so much trying to scare them, just show that this was business and he expected everyone to treat it as such. "Alright let's go." He said after a moment and organized as a unit and in marching order they set off.

So he was in the front of the group. Well, it made sense. He knew he was pretty good at finding things, apparently Shinzu knew as well. First thing Batsu did was he snapped his bow from behind his back and casually loaded it. Being in the front meant that there was no one that could help him in case something went awry. The boy then went on ahead and went on with trying to find some sort of clue towards locating the enemy base. So far, he didn't see anything. But then again, it was illogical to find an opening so close to civilization.

Masaraku was order to bring up the rear, another flaw in Shinzu's logic. If Batsu was supposedly the best sensor, and also a long range fighter, put him in the rear or the middle and have a close range fighter as a shield. She kept her peace though, wanting to watch Shinzu's planning fail on him. She would just meld into the shadows and ready herself for the attack and looking out for the base..

The boy would stay quiet and just fall in line. He may not be much good as of yet to this team. But at the very least he could depend on his eyes. Whether it be in like of day, dark of night or through the morning mist.. they had yet to fail him in a time of need so he figured this wouldn't be any different. As he moved along with the team though, he got to wondering what he would do in a dire situation. "I am obviously a junior to all of you. What do I do in the case of being.. overpowered?" It hurt him to even ask. That is a shot to the pride of anyone in a clan like the Kaguya.

Masa laughed gruffly and said, "Cry rape. Put up a fight. Run like a chicken. It doesn't matter either way. If you get killed it was meant to be." She looked around for signs of the base, but as she stepped into a beam of light she refocused on finding shade again. God forbid she be caught in the open with these losers.

As the group enters the mission area they begin to notice that several trees branches have been broken, in roughly the same direction.

"There's always the possibility of you being the hero of the mission, ya know? Just do your best and know that you are on a team-based mission... even if one of the team mates is being an a** right now." Batsu shot a piercing glare over his shoulder towards the back of the line before facing forward again, noticing the broken tree branches. The boy started counting his paces as he walked. Maybe there was a chance he missed the base. Probably not, but one thing was certain... SOMETHING was out here.

"Batsu's right." Shinzu said as they set off. "Just do your best, and try to learn from us as we go through the mission." Shinzu finished with a smile to the Kayuga as he set about following Batsu, and they soon stumbled upon a few broken tree branches, giving them a rough path into the forest, which Batsu seemed to have picked up on. That was good, then he had made the correct descision, in this instance. He was still worried about how the rest of the mission would go, but not horribly so now.

"You don't have to worry about rape with no male fish monsters around.." Karasu thought to himself as the female Hoshigaki spoke. But he didn't say anything outloud. Not because he didn't want to start any trouble, but because he didn't know if she was being sarcastic or just had a bitchy attitude. But as the others spoke he nodded in acknowledgement. "Hero? Agreeing to that would be arrogant." He kind of smiled at the thought of these two actually wanting to help get him through this. "I'm suuure she's useful, when it comes to brawn.." Perhaps his insult would sink in, but he doubted it.
