Biography: ❦ Aside from what you already know, here is the significance behind why she is "The Black Rose". (My interpretation) Instead of being a beautiful red rose, pure and full of love, she is not quite that. In the eyes of her father and mother, she is a black rose, tainted with false love and secrecy, no pureness about her birth. Though her father loves her, he can't help but see the tainted aspect of how she came about. She is beautiful and everything like a rose, but because of her birth she became infamous to her father and mother. When her father looks upon her, Eleanor can sense that he feels sorrow because of her existence.
Even though Eleanor grew up knowing how her father looked at her, she still grew up being a kind sweet person who cared about others more then herself. When her father pleaded with her to go to the ball, she was hesitant because something felt wrong, her father would never make her do something like this..especially since he always warned her to stay away from the palace for some reason. Eleanor doesn't expect anything by going to the ball and simply goes there lost in her thoughts and filled with worry to notice anyone and to simply make a full of herself. Eleanor is a kind hearted young woman, rather shy but temperamental as well. She's smarter then she may look since she taught herself how to read and write, something commoners could not do, which made her father proud of her. Eleanor is an educated and mannered young woman much like the nobility, though she doesn't have snobbery like the rest. ❦
Likes: ❦Eleanor enjoys gardening more than anyone she knows but she loves her father more. Occasionally she goes into the village and gives food and clothes she made herself to those who do not have a home or who are having trouble with their harvest and what not and she enjoys doing that too. Eleanor likes talking to the old people that hang around near the market place and they all find her very delightful. ❦
Dislikes: ❦ The number one thing Eleanor hates is to see her father down and depressed. She wishes she could understand why he's like that but knows that he will never tell her. Eleanor hates not knowing and she is always getting into trouble by him by trying to find out the truth, the truth that would bring the world to a sudden stop. ❦
Other: ❦ Eleanor enjoys singing, but she is only caught singing when watering her garden. Eleanor's hair is that of her fathers but she shares the same blue eyes with her mother as well as her mothers height and body type, something not many would really take notice of.❦

Biography: ❦ Eric was born on a cold winter night, just on the eve of the first snowfalls of the season. With his arrival, he brought pride and hope to all of Ivila, and his life had all but played out exactly as everyone around him planned. His nursemaid raised him to his fifth birthday, when he was placed under the tutelage of a scholar to begin his formal education. He excelled as a student, and took a particular shine to the arts and literature, subjects his father felt less productive in creating a strong diplomat. Instead, he was made to focus on economics, the social workings of his class, and more importantly the classes below. By the time he turned eighteen, he had become the man he was slated to become since birth; well read and talented, honest and chivalrous, and ready to take his place as the next in line for the throne.
Though he was honored to be his father's son and eager to fullfil his birth given role, Eric was always racked with a hidden since of abandon, like he were only a shadow of himself forced to obey the laws light had on it's form. It wasn't just his interests, that were all too neglected in order to attend to more important matters, but his inability to seek his own path in life. Though his family had shown him all love in the world, he'd been given life for one sole purpose; the preservation of the Forensane blood-line as rulers of Ivila. He could have no other fate than that, and in a sense it took all meaning from anything he could possibly aspire to achieve. When he gained his own seat to the left of his father in his court, Eric felt the faith in himself falter in exchange and for the next three years sought to distance himself from those around him.
It worked well for avoiding a problem, or personal greivance, but it wasn't a solution. His father took it upon himself to garuntee the Prince would host this years royal ball, in the interests of courting a wife; an announcement the prince himself had reacted with genuine suprise, though his shock was equally paired with fury. He found it presumputious and an even further piece of his free will cut away, but reluctantly agreed nonetheless; after all, it wasn't as if he could out right refuse. He hosted the event, as planned, and was a success by most standards; music lively, guests chatty, and best of all, the nobels had brought their most beautiful daughters to display like willful pawns in a much larger game of power and control. There was no greater pleasure that evening, than being able to mingle with them all, and many had managed to captivate his mind as much as his eye; still none compared to vision of beauty cast so innocently in the guise of a commoner. She had arrived alone, and the introductions had been so many, he remebered few names in days to come. But her; her face and smile resounded in his mind like a persistent flame. He had no doubts, she would be one of the few he would actual consider taking as a wife.❦
Likes: ❦ Eric is a man of many deep layed talents. He enjoys reading, writing, and art, though these hobbies are neglected for his duties as prince. Still, when he finds he has time, he often sneaks away to the library to hide away and delve into the recesses of his imagination. ❦
Dislikes: ❦ Eric isn't much for politics, though he excells at it's practice. He found the inner workings of a monarchal government to be far to ridgid and onesided; ever a progressive thinker, Eric felt government belongs to a group at large and not the elite few. After all, noble or commoner, we were all apart of the same species, and he wished to treat others as such. ❦

The male was born in Paris, conceived by a woman whom his father had been having an affair with. Though his father obviously preferred his mother over his own wife, he still left the two of them. His mother was…. someone who loved to sleep around, though she still came from a very wealthy family, so Kyren was raised well…though he was smothered by his mother as he grew up and therefore he began to feel discomforted around her. At the age of thirteen Kyren learned that his mother had yet again gotten pregnant by a man whom she was in an affair with…and it was then that he decided to leave her.
At the age of Sixteen Kyren was already part of a rather prosperous trading company, and now at the age of twenty-one…well he owns most of the shares. Basically he is the boss of one of the most successful trading company’s in the world. He did not get there easily of course, it took his a lot of time, money and effort, but the waiting was all worth it. Besides his job, he is also a well known figure, since he has been close to the prince ever since he was young, seeing the male as a close sibling of sorts, even though the other is of royal blood and Kyren is nothing but the son of a whore. Still the two of them have always gotten along.
Kyren is often pursued by his mother, who constantly begs him to come back to her, even though she knows he will not go back unless she were to stop playing around with men ,which they both know will never happen. His mother continues to desperately try and convince him, perhaps more fixated on him because he was the first child she had ever conceived, and the child of the only man she had ever truly felt any feelings for.
Kyren seems like the sort that would be very mild tempered and somewhat cold, though this is not really the case. Generally he is a bit aloof and somewhat awkward, but he’s a good guy…he simply has a very wild temper. He tends to be somewhat uncomfortable around women, but that’s simply because of his past. He also likes to help others, a habit he picked up for some reason or another. ❦ Likes: ❦ Kyren is very fond of roses, and actually keeps a garden....despite how odd that may seem. He also loves to listen to music, and tends to stand off to the side at balls, just to listen to the orchestra. He loves to go outside at night and actually has quite the sweet tooth. ❦ Dislikes: ❦ Kyren is not so fond of people who simply give up on life. He also can't stand it when people whine and complain without doing anything to fix the problem. He's not a fan of bitter things at all, and hates it when people pester him when he wants to be alone. ❦ Other: ❦ There's nothing really important besides the fact that he runs a trading company and is also a knight for the royal family. ❦

Varias was sent to a monastery for education where he developed a sort of passion for religion based more on intelligent analysis than stories and lore. The headmaster was incapable of describing Varias' work as anything but exceptional. After greasing an endless amount of palms and arranging several backroom deals, Varias's house had him promoted to the prestigious position of Bishop of the capital city, from which he would soon be promoted again to Cardinal in his mid-20s (which, back then, wasn't too uncommon). As an administrator of Church lands, Varias was renown for efficiency. Though some would denounce his 'Al-Jabr' as heretical practice, Varias understood the potency of some infidel innovations such as scientific management.
Varias didn't spend much time at Curia; the King had recognized the man's talent in administration and given him the position of Second Minister, which he viciously exploited. During his brief 2-year tenure as Second Minister, Cardinal Ibelin's already substantial estates increased sevenfold in acreage. Though he delivered the lands of deceased noble lines to the King as he was meant to do, Varias was more than active in the practice of seizing unclaimed lands, which he was able to come to terms with morally despite it being an illegal practice in law. The old First Minister, an incompetent noble, died under suspicious conditions after Varias's influence at court began to increase. He found himself promoted not because the King fully trusted him, but because the King's ministers supported the Cardinal's 'efficiency'.
Varias would remain the only Cardinal in the Kingdom for a long while, serving as the only connection between the Royal house and the Papacy. While his corruption as First Minister persisted, it was more than counterweighted by a legacy of efficient policies and effective tax reforms. Varias once had difficulty coming to terms with his actions, but clearly it had gotten him this far, meaning he must have been fully justified, right?.❦ Likes: ❦Back at the monastery, Varias had always been thought of as a passionate reader, but in reality, the things he enjoy more include writing and arguing, primarily because of how good he is at both. If one is never recognized for reading another's words, then why should one do so for anything other than building his or her own vocabulary? The Cardinal considers his own vernacular developed enough. Cardinal Ibelin has a great many Estate houses, all of which are surrounded by gardens. Now would be a good time to note the man enjoys his bushes. In truth, the Cardinal is hardly an interesting man. He spends most of his time praying, writing for business or philosophical purposes, debating, and managing his estates and the affairs of the King. If there is any one most prominent desire in Varias's mind, it is further upward momentum. ❦ Dislikes: ❦Heresies, inefficiency, and blasphemy. The Cardinal accepts most natural things as... well... natural, but has strong opinions on personality. Inefficient and disobedient aides are good for nothing, blasphemers deserve to be burned at the stake. Overall, the Cardinal has a passion for purifying the lands, but also has very thin tolerance for even the slightest procrastination or inefficiency.❦ Other: ❦ He looks boss in red.❦

His father was the second son in the family and while his brother inherited the Ducal title, he took a position of pastor in a wealthy province. It was a good well respected position and he married well, the daughter of an Earl. She was also a second child, her older brother in line for his father’s title. Nicholas was born in the dead of winter and his father hadn’t survived until the spring. Without his father, and the inheritance in trust held by his uncle until he was eighteen, his mother was forced to go to his father’s brother for help. My uncle said that he was willing to take me on at his estate, and see to my education and raising until I could claim my trust, but he had no interest in supporting my mother was well, claiming that her family could see to her. So he was left with the Duke of Garbury, his cold distant uncle as his mother left for her home a great distance away.
He was educated alongside his cousins until he was a teenager, but there was a deep rivalry between them and they finally went to their father and insisted that he be sent away. Their father had little time to listen to their whining, it was easier to simply do what they asked. So Nicholas was sent off to school, which was a blessing in disguise because a few years later the family was struck with scarlet fever and his uncle, aunt, and cousins all perished. So at eighteen he stepped into his role as the Duke of Garbury and also claimed his inheritance from his father which was sizable, though still small in comparison to the Ducal treasury.
Now Duke Verden is one of the most prominent of the nobility in the land. He is a well sought after bachelor based on his portfolio though it is well known that he is cold and has an intense countenance. His desire for what others around him had drove his greed and desire deep. His mother’s brother is getting older and his son died in a tragic hunting accident the year before. So the Duke will be inheriting that estate, title and wealth as well. And such a shame about his cousin…but you know…accidents happen…
Nicholas is extremely smart, and very cunning. He knows just how to play people to get what he wants from them while still maintaining a working relationship with them. Not to the level that they love him, but his is fairly well respected and considered fair, even if his intentions and motives run far on the other side of that line.❦ Likes: ❦ Nicholas wants all of the best things. If he sees something that is the most beauty, the most luxurious, the biggest/grandest/etc, then he has to have it. He loves beauty, luxury, comfort, money, and court life. He loves nothing better than for other people to envy him and to count his possessions that he has stolen from others. ❦ Dislikes: ❦ The way his mother had to beg his uncle for help is one of his greatest sources of shame. He hates poverty, scorns those that are poor, refuses to share his wealth and hates when people still look down on him. He craves the love that some royals seem to have from everyone. But not enough to change anything else about himself. He puts on a good front around people and his cunning tongue can make him out to be a much better man than he is. But he will not change. ❦ Other: ❦ Nicholas has only not married yet because he so often finds fault in the women at court. But he has had many mistresses over the years.❦

She is not snotty, instead she is nice toward everyone that deserves it and she thrives on kindness that she receives from the lower class. She is often told how odd she is because she's not afraid to get down and dirty and because she goes around wearing men's pants sometimes!
Adeline is obviously from a wealthy family and she doesn't mind the riches, she just wishes she could be more free like the peasant girls as well as the farmer girls. She had never been spoiled only because she never asked for this and that like normal rich girls would do. As a child, she strove to learn like the boys and when ever she could, she would steal her brothers books and notes from time to time and simply read them over, studying them and learning. When the ball came about, she got her invitation and already made up her mind that she would not go, but in the end, like always, she was forced to go by her father. Just like any of the fathers of the other noble girls, he wanted her to wind up marrying the Prince. How distasteful. ❦ Likes: ❦ Like any other girl, Adeline like's sweets. She also likes for people to call her Addy rather than Adeline but only because she got used to hearing her nick name a lot by her family. Addy likes gardening but mostly wondering around new places, exploring to see if she can find anyting interesting. ❦ Dislikes: ❦There is no doubt that she hates the other noble women. She hates stuck up and snobby people which is why she isn't too interested in the Prince because she figures that's how he is...he is the Prince after all, getting whatever he wants.
