This is purely a powered quest for Darwin Okun. Knight Title: Astral, Page of Pluto
Challenge: You shall not pass! Uniform: Steampunk sorcerer apprentice. Colors green, leather, and brass. Top = Basic green magician robe, CC Gloves -- Maybe leather gloves with cut-off fingers, if it fits the design you come up with? Otherwise CC. Belt = CC Shoes = Leather boots, CC Shoulders = CC Accessories = CC Weapon = Staff of Solitude
Page = Walking stick. Great for poking things or whacking people on the head, but that's it.
Squire = Walking stick becomes mage staff. The top moves/spins/glows/whatever when activated and generates a hazy forcefield for about 30 seconds around Astral that knocks back any living thing - Moon and Chaos alike - that tries to get within 5 feet of him. Objects are not affected and Astral cannot move without disrupting the forcefield.
Knight = Staff is more ornate and its forcefield radius is extended to 10 feet. Objects are not affected and Astral cannot move without disrupting the forcefield.

Why Pluto? By most people's standards, Darwin is a little bit odd. Some might call him "cute" or "adorkable," but few would argue that he's... different. His unique way of looking at things resulted in Darwin spending several years with few friends. Then lo and behold, Pluto Knights were described thusly:
The Space Cauldron It was common for others to joke that Knights who went to Pluto were never quite the same. [Pluto Knights'] significant change in worldview often alienated them from other Knights... Much of their time was spent alone engaging in solitary tasks... That seems to fit Darwin mighty well, it raises an interesting questions: Did Past!Darwin become a Pluto Knight because he was odd, or did becoming a Pluto Knight make Past!Darwin odd?
Other Weapon Ideas:
Slow-Motion Staff = Generates static forcefield that forces everything to move in slow motion within a 5 foot radius of Astral for about 30 seconds at Squire stage. Increase to 8 foot radius at Knight stage.
Foresight Glasses = Glasses enable user to see 1-2 seconds into the future for about 30 seconds at Squire stage; seeing present and future at the same time can be disconcerting. At Knight Stage, glasses also give minor reaction-time boost.
Back-up Names: Caprona Knockma Endor Ginnungagap Jarvis Meropis Mogo

Kowloon is probably a stretch, so if anyone has some possible names for a Pluto Knight, I'm open to suggestions.
Otherwise, anyone got any crits? Good, bad, random? xD

I live in Hong Kong currently so I hope you don't mind some feed back on the use of the Walled City. If you want to use the Walled City of Kowloon, you should probably make that clear since Kowloon, or 九龍, is really what the entire peninsula is called!
So as far as the what you're thinking section, it's probably not the most accurate. The walled city itself is only came into existence well after the Song Dynasty. The Wiki article is misleading. In the beginning is was simply a military outpost for the British surrounded by a giant wall. Inside is all the government stuff and blah blah. As time progressed it developed into what the Walled City is known for. I think only after the British acquired a lease on Kowloon, did the Walled City start to take on it's well-known form.
I'm not sure if this is important for Knights, but the Walled City no longer exists. It was demolished sometime in the mid-1990's I think. As far as tying it into steampunk...I can see where you're coming from but you're probably better off choosing another site. The atmosphere there is very not-cowboy. It was similar to a giant slum city in any other Asian country. Not at all like the Wild West.
Sorry, for the otherwise-useless comment but yeah, I think it'd probably be better for you to find another city/landmark to use.

I think most of the problems you brought up were the result more my hasty summaries and attempts to stretch the connection between Kowloon and Pluto. Some of those things I didn’t think needed mentioning, and some I simply forgot to bring up.
~*~
Despite rather liking the name, I knew it was a weak connection at best, so I don’t mind dropping it, but that brings me back to square one. What name to use? What name fits both Pluto and Darwin without trending on other planets’ toes? Most of what I come up with either doesn’t fit at all, or better fits Mercury or Saturn.
I've got Uritorco up now, but that name is just... blegh. I could get used to it if I have to, but there's got to be something better out there.

Sorry about that! I'll try and look around and link anything that catches my eye. The thing about Steampunk is that it tosses most of the myths out the window. I'd suggest that city from the new Bioshock game but it's not real. 8 (

Alright, found a name I think might work. Not so sure about the mechanic of Knight weapons/magic though, so that could use a look-over.
