Since we've got Whimsical Dream, there's a lot of things we can do on it. So the more ideas we have, the better. Let's start brainstorming, guys!

Ah, I was going to suggest Wonderland, you beat me too it! x)
But seriously though, when I think of whimsy, I think of Alice in Wonderland. It has that unusual and cheerful spirit that defines whimsical. Plus, there are animals in Alice in Wonderland!
Another idea could be fairytales in general. We can have princes and princesses, talking items and fairies. I think that is pretty whimsical. cx

The Sands of Time Blow.... Alice in wonderland was submitted as an idea for the theme of the whole ball, and was rejected due to Copyright Issues. Sooo.... I don't think we'll be doing that. >.>' ....Greeting the Demonic Prince.

Disney made a movie based off of the book, however the book's author has been dead for over 100 years. Alice in Wonderland is free to use by all. If another company created an Alice in Wonderland film, Disney couldn't do anything about it. Even some of the character designs are taken from the book. Giving Alice blond hair and a blue dress with a white apron would be perfectly okay. Basically, Disney owns nothing but their representation of the story. As long as you can say you designed the characters/plot using the book and not the Disney film, we are 100% within our right to do so.

We can corporate a few minor ideas from Alice in Wonderland. For example, talking chess figures, perhaps. Those are very interesting ideas. 8D But nothing major. As an author myself, I'd rather not take major ideas from other people's works unless the situation asks for it. It belongs to the blood and effort of another person and I really respect it, even if said author is gone. Though the whimsical atmosphere of the story can be brought into our plot. That would be great! But try to think of something that belongs to ourselves.
Also, dreams are the manifestation of a person's emotions. What emotions should this dream be based on? It needs to have feelings, not just a plot. And it needs to signify something inside us to be able to make an impact. Try to think along those lines.
These are a few of my ideas for the plot: - An eerie, out-of-the-world, aloof and refreshing atmosphere. Melancholic, carefree and perhaps a little sad (at some point?). - Lights rising from the ground (which would signify something), as for the opposite of falling snow - HUGE CAKE <-- Poy's idea - A huuuuuuuuuuge bonfire - It will involve spirits of the land
And Poy, Silver is right. Alice in Wonderland really isn't copyrighted anymore. @-@ I checked. If you didn't want to do it, just say it first hand. But I do believe certain ideas from it (or the mood of the story) can serve useful, even as reference. I don't Silver meant any harm. So please, don't fight.

really quick and messy... but a castle in the sky, half falling apart, with Dr. Seuss like trees and flowers, all made of candy with random mismatched animals like flying bunnies and mini butterfly hippos...

Misty L Lake *pretty* really quick and messy... but a castle in the sky, half falling apart, with Dr. Seuss like trees and flowers, all made of candy with random mismatched animals like flying bunnies and mini butterfly hippos... O-o Draw me a scene? I don't even care if it has anything to do with my room. It's just so much fun! I wish I had someone to paint ideas for my room...man. Y u so awesome? *stalking all the other rooms while mine's still empty* @Shun There's talking chess pieces? If you're thinking emotions, I definitely think of the lighthearted ones. Joy, fun, nostalgia, etc.

I say it's like an enchanted forest theme Character could be animals, elves, archers, princesses, etc. and for a probelm charcater, a random person from nightmare that we can have one of the nightmare roomies play or you could just keep it in the room You can see if it's okay by running it by the nightmare room Pretty much, the forest is all fine and dandy But someone from the nightmare realm sneaks in and causes havoc But maybe they betrayed the nightmare realm as well And they've decided to take over the Whimsical Forest Then all the characters in the room would have to trap him and send him elsewhere

for emotions and such there is: Light hearted, carefree, happy-go-lucky, merry, lively. I like the ides of a castle in the sky, and talking chess pieces. If that were true i'd never lose a chess match again! I love the idea of talking animals, we could have cats in dresses and dogs and foxes, and reindeer/deer, etc I could go on forever. xd

Joy, fun, nostalgia, etc. I'm thinking about the movie. @-@ I do apologise. I don't know much of the original story. It's been a long time since I've read it. Xx-Cakes_Delite-xX I say it's like an enchanted forest theme Character could be animals, elves, archers, princesses, etc. and for a probelm charcater, a random person from nightmare that we can have one of the nightmare roomies play or you could just keep it in the room You can see if it's okay by running it by the nightmare room Pretty much, the forest is all fine and dandy But someone from the nightmare realm sneaks in and causes havoc But maybe they betrayed the nightmare realm as well And they've decided to take over the Whimsical Forest Then all the characters in the room would have to trap him and send him elsewhere It's not a bad idea, but then we'd have to collaborate with the Nightmare team, which could be troublesome and messy. but then again, we'd have to see the original ball plot. If that's how the plot goes, then we'll do it. Why don't you suggest it to the Plot Committee if you haven't? 8D I think it's something worth considering. Thanks for your input Yui! biggrin (forgiveness I'm just too lazy to quote XD)
