To apply for a breeding stall/slot:
You can obtain a breeding slot in a variety of ways: through a random opening, announced in the Announcements, through a random event on your Stall page granted through activity, or by purchasing a slot through your shop credit. Purchasing a slot costs $2500 from each owner. Slot: Currently closed to put some time between puppy-growths!
Once you obtain a slot, fill out the form listed below and post it in this thread.
Domestics (pearl divers/fighters/pets) are allowed to interbreed, as well as wilds (wilds/ferals), although these two groups may only interbreed with special permission. Culls also require special permission to breed (IE, a plot that makes sense). Typically, culls are restricted from breeding as they are considered to contain 'bad blood,' and wilds/ferals will not come into the main compound for fear of getting caught.
Litter size:
Adults may have two to four pups per litter. Elders may have three to five pups per litter. If an elder and an adult breed, they may have two to five pups per litter. In feral/wild breedings, adolescents may breed; however, this breeding only ever results in two pups, even when they are paired with an adult/elder. Except on very rare occasions, domestic adolescents (pearl divers/fighters/pets/culls) are not allowed to breed.
Litter size is based partially on activity, and partially on luck. For example, if you are active, the roll for two adults will be between three to four; if you are inactive, the roll will be between two and three. If one owner is active, and the other inactive, the roll for two adults will be between two and four.
Receiving the litter:
At the time of the birth, it is impossible to know what subspecies each pup will become; only once they reach adolescence does it start to become apparent. A litter born to different subspecies (a pearl diver and a fighter, for example) will generally contain mostly pearl diver and fighter pups, although throwbacks to other subspecies is not uncommon. Culls may also appear in any litter. To make things fair, rolls will be done for each pup to determine subspecies and gender.
All domestic pups will be collared at birth.
The litter will be PMed directly to the owners of the parents. Please ensure that your PMs are not set friends-only, or you will not receive the pups. Also realize that although ferals/wilds breed, their pups will be born out in the wilds, not within the compound, although for continuity's sake, they'll be posted in the nursery with the rest.
Each owner may keep one pup from each litter. If those parents decide to have another litter down the road, you may keep another single pup from that second litter (and third litter, etc.). The rest of each litter must be given away to other people. You may not sell or trade away the pups; however, you may give them away to either friends or offer them back to the shop for us to set up a special giveaway event for them. You may also receive permission to set up your own giveaway event for them.
Once you decide on names/owners, PM Mila Farrell with those names for certing/setting up new stalls! Please send just one PM will the names of all new Mokai/owners; until you do, the babies will not grow.
Selling puppies/Mokai
If you want to sell your Mokai, you may sell them back to the shop for shop credit! These can be anything from puppies to adult Mokai. The base price for most Mokai start off at $200 for everything except for culls, which start off at $100. Depending on what other traits the Mokai possesses, the price will go up from there. Mokai with a registered lineage will gain an extra $400 automatically. These Mokai will then be the shop's to re-sell or contest off. Please PM Mila Farrell if you are interested in doing this.
About the next litter:
For the domestics (pearl divers/fighters/pets) males and females are expected to raise the young - or at least give the semblance of doing so. With this in mind, males and females are not allowed to breed again for six months after giving birth. In the wilds, male wilds and ferals can breed freely, although females are not allowed to breed again for six months after birth, in order to raise the young.
