I started going back to college last week. I also started going dressed as a girl, since I am trans and trying to be me, obviously.
However it is scary as hell, mostly the feel of judgemental eyes on me all the time. Despite my family not understanding that well, and my grandfather saying I shouldn't go out in public like that "for my own safety", I am deadset on doing so.
But encouraging words and some help would be greatly appreciated. sweatdrop

I encourage you to be yourself all the way. If that's how you're comfortable, go for it ^.^

If that's what you want to do, do it! You're better than me. I wouldn't be able to do that. I admire your strength 3nodding

I don't see the world as "Boys and girls". Of course the two genders are different but I more so see it as feminine and masculine (and all that is in between).
You go ahead it be your damn sexy fabulous self!!!

One of my dear friends is a is a transvestite and he's been wearing woman's clothes since middles school. They have gotten the worse crap from people, cause we know how bad high school kids are to others. But it doesn't matter cause he's happy as a clam being himself. And what he told me told me is, "If people can't except you for who you are, get new people. Cause baby you were born this way" wink

College is full of nice people. Nicer than high school, anyway. Depending on the place you live and such, I'm sure you'll be fine. Yeah, people are going to judge you. But think of it this way: Everyone judges everyone all the time. From bad-driving, to odd coloured clothing, to the way you speak. No matter what, people will always be judging you. Just try to remember that the people who matter to you, are the only ones that should have opinions that matter to you. Everyone else can just go shove it. XD

Sir/ma'am(which ever you identify as), you have more guts then me. As openly as I like to dress, I could never go to school dressed as a girl(even though I would really like to try).

Sometimes its a look of confusion...or sometimes disgust...but it just kills me inside... That's understandable, and it's hard to just "suck it up", as they say. To quote Doctor Seuss: "Be who you are, and say what you feel, because those who mind, don't matter, and those who matter, don't mind.". It definitely sucks to have people stare at you like that. I guess you just have to ask yourself which feels worse. To get stared at by people who are too ignorant to understand, or to hide who you really are.

Its a goal I definatly have. Its also a huge source of my depression.

Sadly, you're always going to get the judgmental looks. It's just how society is. Hell, when I see a transgender individual, I do a double take as well. It's not because I disapprove, it's just because I don't see it all that often.
My encouraging words? Eff them. You're probably an amazing person. You do what you want to do, and don't give a crap about them. biggrin
