[Ken is a "go with the flow" kind of guy. He always has a habit of never planning ahead. Mainly because everytime he does it never works out and goes wrong. So instead he just plans things out as he goes. He also jokes through all situations. Mainly when he's in trouble. He does this to either make his opponent angry or to cheer himself and his allies up. The jokes he makes are usually about the situation he's in.]

[Ken grew up in Florida until he was 12. When he was 15 he moved to New York to live with his mom. During his time in New York he started acting strange like black outs would occur whenever he got angry. This got Fuyu academy's attention. The Academy assigned an employee to keep a close eye on Ken. When the employee felt Ken was ready to enter the academy, he sent Ken a letter offering him a chance to join the school. ]

WARNING: I am not a moderator, just a member of the guild. You are not obligated to read this. This is to just delay any further confusion, and speed up the approval process. Could you please elaborate more in details to your character. I've listed some areas that would help if you bother to read.
Since you said he usually "improvises" could you give examples.
Include what he does in happy situations, sad situations, and situations that anger him. (To meet the basic requirements) Adding in some negative aspects of his personality is completely optional at this point, but it helps in defining the character. I would recommend it.
Concerning his background.... When he was 13, how did his powers affect his life? What was his attitude toward them, did his friends know about his powers?
Umm, he received a letter from Fuyu... Did it contain information of Fuyu?
Would he believe any letter he received?
There are two common ways I would go about Fuyu in a story from in your situation.
1. Fuyu is commonly known in the area he lives in. But "John Doe*" grew up around kids with normal life styles. Normal being people without abilities or powers, typical humans. Out of fear and prosecution (from his friends) he keep his powers hidden. Until.... etc OR he is open with his powers. But his dominance over his powers isn't so great. Causing lots of trouble in his life. Fuyu has known about his existence and offered and helping hand, be sending him information.
2. Fuyu is like Hogwarts. It's hidden amongst special creatures, few typical humans, and various others. Because it is not known, people with abilities are treated like witches or test subjects. They don't use their powers publicly and keep it under wraps. "John Doe*" has a guardian that protects him. When the guardian feels John's potential is too much for his him to bear, he sends John a letter about Fuyu. OR John did something that caught the eyes of administrators in Fuyu. Like burning a building, or causing a black out when his powers were out of his control.
There's always the chance option. Say he received the leader addressed to another person, perhaps of a similar name.
He met someone from Fuyu he recommended the place.

About his ability, please explain more in details.
Photographic Reflexes means he can copy things he says and perform them.
But Elemental Aura is a bit broad and vague. What exactly is it? The power to command fire, water/ice, earth/metal, light/life, darkness/death, wind?
What are his limits and capabilities?

Unapproved.
His personality isn't in the clear, it's not descriptive. Here are some things you should add:
Why is he cocky? What does he feel gives him the right to act that way? Is it justified? Does he do it around everyone, even loved ones and authority or people who are evidently all-around better?
What makes him think he should be allowed to show off? Why does he do it? What if someone is better than him?
Why doesn't he plan ahead of time? Is he lazy or is he just that arrogant? Is it not his arrogance, but maybe that he's carefree? Lives in the moment? Do things turn out better for him when he does plan ahead of time or worse?
What are "bad situations"? What kind of jokes? Like, Hitler jokes at a synagogue bad or terrorist jokes on a plane bad or maybe just light jokes in situations like getting detention?
Also, his powers are way too much. Please keep in mind that this an academy for the magically inclined, not God. His powers are out of the normal boundaries - you need to either change them completely or add big restrictions.
