Speed Shin is, for lack of a better word, a quick bugger. By no means the fastest kid in his school, he is capable of outrunning some of the other children over short distances. Shin is a capable sprinter, but has no stamina to see him through on long distance running. He can run at his maximum speed for little under five minutes, after which he becomes winded and must take a short breather before carrying on again.
Agility Shin would love to claim that he gains a natural cat like grace from his father, though the most agile he has ever seen the old man be came when he slipped and staggered about on a sheet of ice in the driveway. Shin has a excellent sense of balance himself however, so he always has a surety of his footing. Shin is no gymnast however, and feats of acrobatics is a bit beyond his capability. Rather, Shin has a more common sort of agility that can be applied to running along narrow street curbs. Leaping over short distances from one platform to another, or dodging a incoming fist from a certain boy he often provokes.
Stealth Being slight in size, Shin often has the habit of being overlooked by those around him. He has learned, over the few years of schooling, how to walk so his steps do not make a sound. Despite his short temper, Shin can be remarkably quiet. With all of this combined, he has learned over time just how to best hug corners and shadowed spots along walls to increase his chances of being overlooked.
Logical Everything in the world makes sense. That is one of the beliefs that Shin clings to. There is always a reason for something (Except for Jack. There is NOTHING logical about him). Shin is not what one would call a genius. He does not automatically know how A becomes C in the string of things. However, he does know that there is clearly a B in there, and it just takes him a little while to figure out what it may be. If something does not make sense to Shin, he tends to withdraw from whatever the source of confusion is.
Uncompromising When Shin makes up his mind about something, he becomes extremely stubborn about changing anything about it. This could be over something as simple as what pair of socks he has decided to wear to school, all the way up to what he decides to pursue as a hobby. In Shin's mind, to change one's plans, even in the slightest, is to encourage chaos and uncertainty into ones life. Which of course utterly conflicts with his Logical trait. This is not to say that he has complete control over his uncompromising behavior. For example, if he informs his father he will be taking a Bus home from a specific place. Shin will not accept the offer of a ride, even from a friend or well trusted adult. Even if he should miss the bus, Shin will sit and wait till the next comes along, even if he could walk home before the next bus arrives.
Arachnaphobia Some people fear dogs. Some are afraid of bee's. Shin is simply afraid of spiders. There is no traumatic story to share concerning this fear. It is a irrational one that, despite how hard Shin has attempted to overcome it, it persists and lingers. Shin can not say for certain what any one thing about a spider frightens him. Calmly, and logically, he can admire a spider behind glass or through a picture. However, one that is loose and scampering around, or just sitting in a web in a corner, sends feelings of fear and jittery unease through him. Shin's fear of spiders is not all consuming, so he does not mindlessly freak out at their sight. It requires the slightest brush of a web or a skittering of leg's across his body to cause such a fear induced attack.
Perfectionist In Shin's mind, there is no reason why anything should be less then perfect. The way he folds his cloths, the curve of his penmanship, even the way he brushes his hair. If one takes their time and honestly applies themselves, he believes they can create a neat and orderly life of perfection. For Shin, menial tasks are easy enough to control the outcome of. Mentally however, he applies himself with a anxious fretfulness that he may somehow fail. This drive to achieve perfect scores on tests is only further fueled by his fathers clear disapproval when he does not live up to the high standards set. If Shin does not believe that he has perfectly achieved a goal, he is quiet likely to rip it all down and start over from scratch. Final papers that he may or may not have written in perfect penmanship tend to get tossed aside and the whole paper is started over from the very start. Id a single shirt is not folded correctly, Shin may take every shirt out of the drawer and start over again.
