In The Devil's Eye Desert's recent history a merciless and tyrannical group of Witch Doctors and Warlocks known as Blood Barons lorded over the desert with iron fists, bending the tribes to their will and enslaving them for their gain. While the tribes toiled in their oppression on the scorching desert surface, the Blood Barons used their magics to craft a vast underground city to offer them respite from the heat, and permanent quarters where they could relish in the luxury of their might. As their rule continued, their underground sanctum grew. As they turned their enslaved people's efforts from the deserts surface to their growing excavations and gem mines, smaller ghettos and poor districts began to develop. The Witch Doctors were unaware that their capitol would become their grave.
Now, under Lord Valdiir Tal'Deraz and Lady Azur Bascule's rule, this underground metropolis has radically changed. Now named Andalusia, the underground ghettos and slums have been demolished to make room for permanent dwellings for many of the above surface tribes in the area. Restaurants, bars, and places of leisure have been made and opened to all of the desert's people and travelers. The mines still operate, but as companies that pay and protect the men and women who work within them. As the tunnels descend, more mysterious areas have been uncovered and demand exploration by experienced spelunkers.
In the rise of a free trade economy within The Devil's Eye, an open market has also sprang up in Andalusia, and all manner of objects, goods and resources can be purchased or bartered. In the wake of this new found prosperity, the community of Andalusia has grown openly and welcomes travelers and traders alike with open arms, and while the Lord and Lady still strive to form a consolidated military for their nation, the tribespeople are fiercely protective of their new home and their compassionate rulers.

Then, the way was clear. Krayth descended to the stairs first, and after the lot of them had all reached the tunnel he began moving once again. They weaved in and out of large open caves, spacious plazas and directly past The Andalusian Arena - tough luck for Kai.
"We'll be back." The Anima said to the were-crocodile without looking back. A little time passed, but soon the quartet found themselves in a cave that had a large stonework tower built right into its center, extending from floor to ceiling. The area was dimly illuminated, but with a breath and push of his hands the darkness fled from Krayth's fingers, helping to make the way to the secluded tower more visible. Azur would know this place as the Blood Baron's old Tower of Reflection and their make-shift base of operations during the final stages of the current Lord and Lady's revolution. No tribesman dared to enter this cave, for they believed very firmly that it was haunted. This superstition was largely Krayth's doing. A little shadow manipulation, and you have an entire city convinced that ghosts reside in its dark reaches.
Krayth was the last to enter, and bolted the tower's door twice before following the others into the ground floor's large circular chamber. Unique cave fungi grew on the ceiling above them and bathed the room in a strange pseudo-sunlight.
"Everyone, sit. Please."
The Anima pulled Azur's chair back for her to sit, and waited for the others to take places around the stone table at the room's center.

Kai Blightwater Kai followed the group without question, despite their shady means of entry. This man obviously had a lot of power if the guards simply obeyed him like that. He looked at the arena, it was rather impressive, but a shame they couldn't go to it right away. Kai felt dissappointment swarm over him for a moment, like a tidal wave. But Kai trusted his new friends word, and followed him into the stone tower. To be honest, Kai didn't really trust the tower. The way the shadows had being around it moments before, it almost seemed cursed. And Kai was not confident that he could fend off any monsters if they approached. But alas, nothing happened, and Kai simply sat at the table. Perhaps they were going to speak about these nightmares?

He'd never seen this place before... or at least he hadn't noticed it. Then, as a tower could be seen in the distance, it hit him. This was the same place where he'd almost lost his life. Where the current Lord and Lady saved his life and vanquished the evil doers. "Well, now. This certainly brings back memories," he said quietly to Krayth and Azur. As they'd entered the tower, and came to a room with a single stone table centered in it, Darius took a seat on the far side of the table, watching the others silently. Looking over to the student they met on the way here, Darius decided it'd be best if he introduced himself. "The name's Darius. Darius Fitz, Knight of the Lord's Guard," he spoke softly. "Though, most'ud rather call me Fitz." 《《《《《《《《 =========== 》》》》》》》》 "You can always count on your allies to have their arms out, ready to help." -Skills Used- *

The Black Knife | Master | Lord of The Devil's Eye Desert | Anima | Soul Stalker Strength= 6 | Speed= 6 ❙❙❙❚❚❚❚❙❙❙❚❚❚❙❙❙❚❚❚❙❙❙❚❚❚❚❙❙❙❚❚❚❙❙❙❚❚❚❙❙❙ Krayth waited for Darius and Azur to take their places around the table before taking a seat himself. Every chair was ornate, but uniform. Blood spattered tapestries decorated the circular walls as haunting testaments to the bloodshed that occurred here not so long ago. Krayth had decided to leave them hanging, as a reminder that those who seek to horde the wealth of their people out of greed will repay them in blood. That, and he felt no need to destroy such beautiful works of art out of spite. The Blood Barons were dead; their bodies burned to ashes and those ashes purified. They would never come back.
"Azur, Kai, Darius... before we speak on the matters at hand, I want you to understand that we are all equals. My title means nothing in this place, nor does my Lady's, nor does my Knight's. These visions plagued all of us equally, and no manner of accomplishment or merit will discredit the words spoken here."
Krayth sat beside Azur, and Beyruun slithered out of the collar of his shirt to take form on his shoulder. It's misty white core seemed like an eye, and watched those at the table with interest.
"I have known great evils... and I will no hesitate to confess that on my life's darker roads I have committed a number of such acts. My Knight, and Kai, I assure you that those dark times have passed. I only mention them because for all the darkness I have seen, my nightmare was darker. I have never known such terror, and I imagine some, or all of you feel the same. That is why I fear this is not a simple coincidence or supernatural anomaly. I will stake my life on the claim that these visions are an Omen of Destruction; one that may actually come to pass if certain events unfold. The question is, what events? What must happen for our visions to come true, and what can be done to stop it? I do not have these answers. None of us do... and so I have decided that, for the sake of The Devil's Eye Desert, its people, and all we hold dear that I will travel to Ernya and seek council with Lord Cain and Lady Liliana. They are both Seers by blood, and if anyone can comprehend this coming storm, it is surely them. The plan is not perfect, and it leaves our nation vulnerable. This is why I ask each of you to speak your peace to help us prepare."
The Anima stopped, and looked to Kai. For the first time since meeting him, Krayth took the time to really look him over. He could see the qualities of the were-beast's soul, and while it did not rage with strength is aura was bright and virile; filled with potential. The boy would prove invaluable. He did not doubt that.
"What is said between us must be kept entirely in our confidence. Until we know more, I cannot have the tribes fearing pandemonium. They have suffered enough, and panic will only weaken them further. Please, speak your minds."
Krayth paused, and looked around the room to the others. He was waiting for any manner of response.

Of course, Seers were deemed to be able to see into the future, so they would be their best bet when looking for answers. But one thing troubled Darius... what if they knew no more than them? They'd be left sitting ducks whilst that darkness would slowly get stronger. Stronger until the dream became a reality. Looking towards Krayth, Darius had come up with a means to help out the nation. "M'Lord?" Darius stopped speaking as he recalled what he said, 'Title means nothing in this place.' Rubbing his head, Darius sighed. "Er, Krayth." It was awkward being able to have a non-formal conformation with his superiors. "I may 'ave a means to help protect Andalusia," he started. "Ya see, me Uncle ran a secretive faction known as the Flame'Unners (Flame Runners)." Darius then paused to see if that brought any expression to their faces. "They'ere quiet notorious years ago, actually. But when me uncle passed on, the group'uz disbanded. But, I know the safe house of the Flame'Unners, and could build it back up. Kai Blightwater Kai just simply listened. He had thought the dream was some kind of horrible nightmare, maybe it was something he ate. But, apparently, everybody everywhere had this dream, which definitely was something to worry about. To be honest, Kai had no idea what to say. He felt out of place in the situation, as he wasn't one for words of wisdom. His specialty was breaking things, and right now, he wasn't even good at that. He hoped that he could stay silent without either person calling him out on it.

His soul was intriguing him; the strange nuances in his aura caught his interest. He was not surprised that Kai kept silent, but at the same time he hoped that the young, pale figure would.speak. Krayth, Azur and Darius all, in some respects had ascended to a status beyond the common people. They were placed on a pedestal, and despite his best efforts Lord Valdiir found it difficult to relate. His experiences had jaded him deeply, and often he doubted that his was even the best course of action. He needed outside eyes, or Krayth feared he would overlook critical details, With his nightmare staining his hands with the desert's blood, this paranoia was growing.
However, Darius spoke. His words were uplifting -noticeably so when it came to The Anima. There was a means to defend their people? A fortress, perhaps, already built? For the first time since their meeting Kai would see a very rare sight. Krayth was grinning, and there was light in his eyes. It would be one of the last times he would see it.
"The Flame Runners? You say they have a safehouse? Darius, this is excellent news. Thank you. As of today, The Flame Runners rise again. They will know and respect the name Darius Fitz, and you will lead them in defense of our people. Tell me, what must be done to rebuild the order?"
The Anima's eyes flashed, and the happiness he expressed was suppressed. They now had a means to fortify their lands, but in the end it would mean nothing. Not if Krayth didn't find the answers.
"With any hope, the combined knowledge of our nations will bear fruit, and this catastrophe can be stopped. I intend to go to Ernya immediately to meet with Lord Cain and Lady Liliana. From there, I will travel to Jiaum. I do not expect to be gone long, While I am absent from The Devil's Eye, Darius, I charge you with watching over Azur. Keep her safe until I return."
He stopped, and looked back to Kai. The Lord addressed him directly.
"Tell me, Kai, what are your talents?"

Kai Blightwater Kai looked to Krayth, and then to Azur. It seemed that he was going to be unable to remain silent for this conversation. The were-croc squirmed uncomfortably in his seat as he pondered what he was going to say. To be honest, he couldn't really do much at all. He had just started his career as a combatant, and he could only do basic attacks with a blade. He hesitated saying this, at the risk of being looked over and dismissed, but he figured lying would get him nowhere. "Well, I am a Were Crocodile warrior, specializing in the earth element. I haven't actually trained either of these three abilites up at all, so all I can acheive at this moment at basic sword blows and racial abilities." Kai said, his voice getting softer the more he spoke. He seemed to be losing confidence as he rambled on about his lack of skill.

The ol' girl's probably all outa shape an' what not," the Draconian spoke. "Then, once the ol' base is all up an' about, we can start recruitin' some members." After speaking, Darius listened to Azur speak, and turned his attention towards the student. Darius could sense the boy was uncomfortable, for as he continued to speak, he began to speak quieter and quieter. The boy seemed to have little confidence in himself. Standing from his seat, Darius walked over to the Were-Croc and laid a hand on his shoulder. "Aye, lad. Guess we'll just need ta toughen you up, eh? An' lucky fer you, I just happen to use the element of Earth as well." After attempting to reassure the boy, Darius looked towards Krayth. "An' don't worry, M'Lord. The Black Knife | Master | Lord of The Devil's Eye Desert | Anima | Soul Stalker Strength= 6 | Speed= 6 ❙❙❙❚❚❚❚❙❙❙❚❚❚❙❙❙❚❚❚❙❙❙❚❚❚❚❙❙❙❚❚❚❙❙❙❚❚❚❙❙❙ Krayth's eyes caught those of his lover, and he saw a familiar look in his eyes. The Lord was being too protective, and he knew it. Azur's strength quite likely surpassed his own, but knowing that did not change the horror he had witnessed the night before. He loved her too much to leave her unattended... but at the same time, the Anima refused to imprison his darling.
"Should Azur ever ask for time to herself, Darius, I ask that you respect her wish. Now that we have hope of restoring some form of military power here you will be able to do a great deal with your time. Please, work diligently. I will see that you receive any supplies you need."
Krayth left it at that for the moment, but as Kai began to speak another idea began forming in his head. It was one that he was initially hesitant to accept, but now fate's decree was clear to The Lord. Kai's skills would prove invaluable, and his potential to wield the powers of the desert through his element would make him a stalwart defender for The Devil's Eye... if Krayth showed him that it was worth fighting for. First, he would need training. Darius was likeminded and voiced his thoughts. Krayth responded.
"Kai, I propose a plan of action. You have great potential, and with proper discipline your skill will be formidable. Given the gravity of what lies ahead, I beseech you to stay with Darius Fitz until I return. Darius, open your home to him and treat him with dignity. Darius will train you and show you the ways of the blade and the earth, and in return you will help him to repair the Flame Runners Safehouse. Our nation will benefit greatly from your work together, and when I return from Jiaum I will seek you out and test your skills. If you are ready, you will travel with me to the Kishu Tundra and The Citadel. Can you dedicate yourself to your studies?"
It was a genuine question. The Lord needed to know that Kai was capable and willing to push his limits and weather Darius' trainings. If he was not, the anima would not misplace his faith. Then, his eyes returned to Azur. They reflected confidence, but worry as well. Concern for her.
"Of course, Darius, this means that your time must be dedicated to Kai's training and The Flame Runners. Azur is capable of handling herself, and of seeking aid if she is outmatched. That said, should you have an opportunity... look out for her. Please."
His response to Azur's query on his departure came shortly after she spoke, and carried a similar tone.
"Today. As soon as this meeting ends. But I will be with you. Remember your pendant, and I will always be within reach."
Krayth looked back out to Darius and Fitz, and waited.

Kai Blightwater Kai listened closely to Fitz and and Krayth speak about bringing a faction, the Flame Runners, was it? Back to life. He hadn't really paid much attention to the situation, and was busy being paranoid about what the other, more powerful figures here thought about his lack of ability. As Darius touched his shoulder, he twitched a little, trying to surpress his urge to jump. It was obvious he needed some more confidence, but that would come in time. He then turned to Krayth as he spoke. He, Kai, had great potential? He assumed this was just something he said to all of his students, nothing special, but it made him feel a little less uneasy. He got a little excited as he learned he would be learning his skills from Darius, especially because he seemed quite powerful. But with a strong teacher, would come expectations, and ultimately, a lot of work if he didn't perform to them. This was something Kai only thought about for a moment, because he was afraid the doubt would reflect on his outside appearence, which he was sure all three of these people could detect. Kai pondered the question he was proposed, closing his eyes, and slightly bowing his head while he thought. The training would obviously not be comfortable. But as a reward, he'd be much stronger, and he may get to travel to places like the Kishu Tundra and The Citadel. His consideration only took a few moments, but felt like forever. He sighed, opening his eyes and gazing right at Krayth. "Yes. You have my word that I'll devote all my time and energy to my training and the reconstruction of the Flame Runners." That's all he could think of to say. Kai wasn't much for powerful speaking, so he just said all he felt he needed.
