It had been an uneasy few days. Even after spending many turns with her dragon, K’la still grew irritable and well, uncomfortable when Yvoth started showing signs she was ready to Rise. It was leaning into evening, and it wouldn’t be another mark until the sun went down, that K’la assured herself that the moment wouldn’t come until tomorrow at earliest, when she was proven very wrong. She’d just settled with a cup of klah and brought it to her lips when an earsplitting roar cut cried out challenge. The cup jounced as the high and surprisingly loud noise filled the entirety of her weyr and echoed out into the weyr bowl below. Yvoth, giving her rider no further warning, launched into the air and swooped to the feeding grounds, where she quickly blooded the first beast her claws came in contact with. In the passing minutes, K’la found someone in the halls to fetch an old friend from the lower weyr, a gentleman she had always trusted at times like these, and found an open ledge where she could watch her dragon with the others that would doubtless come. She stood with her arms crossed over her stomach, but below, Yvoth was less reserved. The green gave another cry to the awaiting blues and browns and, yes – even at least one bronze – that had gathered, and launched herself away from the dead thing at her feet and for the open sky. She resisted the urge to twirl in delight and pride for the moment – she wanted altitude first. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reminder! [Copied from other flights] Yvoth is a below average size green, which still gets 3 dice rolls ( d20 ) Bronzes will roll 4 dice ( d20 ) Browns will roll 3 dice ( d20 ) Blues will roll 2 dice ( d20 ) The posting order will be Yvoth, than whichever dragon enters the RP first. After that will be the second dragon, the third dragon, , ect, and then Yvoth once more. If I do not respond in 24-hours to the most recent IC tag, everyone else participating will be allowed to skip my post and continue for the sake of finishing the RP. Should anyone RPing a male dragon chasing Yvoth, you have 48 hours after the last IC tag to respond or your post may be skipped unless you warn in advance that you're response will be delayed. In other words, if it's your turn, you have 48 hours to post or say that you'll be delayed or you may be skipped so the RP can be finished. You must match all the numbers rolled by Yvoth ( 9, 8, 16 ) to successfully catch her. As a reminder, K'la will be, ah, spending her evening with an NPC character from the lower weyr, so the winner will have to find a partner of their own, be it NPC or played by someone. Feel free to arrange this in thread! Have fun, and fly high!

Ha! A green. Not an important one, not one he cared about, but she was a female and it was always entertaining to join in the chase. Giving a deafening bellow, bronze Acriculeth hurled himself into the sky in pursuit of the sleek beauty.
Down below A'nos shook his head to clear it and moved out into the weyrbowl. The rider of this green was one of those stupid wenches who insisted on a substitute, it seemed, so no matter what happened he would need to find a substitute of his own. With this in mind, the dark-eyed harper began to scan the crowd for any female blue riders who might find themselves in a similar situation to himself before long.

Watch green glow, hear green roar, watch her blood and rise. Hearts aflame, muscles strain, males striving for the skies.
Eyes fixed on the gleaming prize Brumath threw himself into the air. He didn't expect to win her, of course he didn't, but that didn't mean he wouldn't struggle and strive. She was green and he brown, she beautiful and he fit though not young. Though it did no good, he would strive. Was that not the way of life?

Deep inside the Weyr T'go heard the call of dragons in flight. Normally he paid little attention to rising dragons except to get out of the way and silently hope Stoloth's day would not come soon. Before he even processed what was happening grabbed him in the gut and dragged his stiff and weary body outside. Squinting in the sunlight, T'go recognized a familiar brown rising after the green.
Stoloth was rising faster than he ever thought he could. For once in his life his mind focused on a single, specific goal: catch the green. He had another incentive, too. He wanted to give Acriuleth a race the bronze would not soon forget!

A chance to fly! Brynth had been watching several greens lately who had been shining bright. A chance to see and fly a lovely little creature and who was he to ignore such a call? The brown waited before launching himself into the air.
Ja'syn not pleased. He had heard that Yvoth's rider preferred a substitute which meant trying to find someone to keep him otherwise occupied. Still, he wished his beloved luck before going off in search to take care of his own needs.

The full length of Yvoth’s body arched with her effort to gain altitude. Once she deemed herself high enough she curbed to the side and craned her neck about to see the cloud of males in pursuit. She spotted Brumath, yes. Though she rarely understood anything he said, she was pleased that he’d joined the chase. Ah, and Stoloth too! Yvoth hadn’t thought of him in that way before since he hadn’t been long grown, but she called to him before arching skyward again. From a distance, a glint of bronze caught her eye for a moment, and she pulled her wings more eagerly through the air. Oh no, she wouldn’t let any of them have her so easily as that!

Very much aware of the lesser males all around him Acriculeth growled, orange-red swirling in with the lusty purple of his eyes; he would not be defeated.

Stoloth trumpeted as he rose. The bronzes were quickly gaining ground, but he would not give up yet.
Back in the Bowl, T'go watched his dragon slowly turn into a speck with bated breath. His whole body felt tense and all together strange. Oh shards, this wasn't good at all! T'go managed to avoid falling victim to the affects of all the other Rises in his time at Benden but now there was no where to hide and he still didn't feel ready. He looked around, surprised and relieved to see two bronze riders in attendance. Maybe Stoloth wouldn't catch the green after all.

Against the backdrop of the evening sky, Yvoth’s bright green wingspan suddenly disappeared. She plummeted a short distance, then threw her wings wide again to steer her new momentum and shoot her swiftly to the left. Let them try and catch her! As pleased as she was with the number of browns and the bronze trying for her, she wanted to challenge them in the only way a smaller dragon could – with maneuverability.

Ah, so she wasn't just a stupid green flying up straight, bound to urn out quickly. While he fancy moves made the chase more interesting, they also put him at a disadvantage. Snapping his jaws at a nearby brown, Arciculeth swooped after the prize.
He hadn't been in a flight where the green rider used a substitute before in the moments he could focus on the riders around him rather than being carried away by his dragon it was interesting to see. No focus to gather around, everyone just stood around watching the dragons, a few occasionally glancing at one another just as he did.

Snapping jaws and slicing claws, eyes of blazing red Flight sheds light on vicious spite, any price to reach the height...
He would not be pushed out by the bronzes attempted assault. No. As the green dropped Brumath followed her, retaining some semblance of rationality even in the midst of flight passion. He was experienced. He would use that. He would not give in to these younger males so easily.

Brynth roared as she dove and flew past them. She was quick but what green wasn't? He was solid muscle and would last long past these others. While she would go left and others would follow, he would wait her out.
Ja'syn grimaced and wondered who he could find to warm his furs.
