Does anyone know good books and/or websites of Ancient Egyptian mythology, culture, etc? My boyfriend is interested in Kemetic recon but I don't know enough to be able to point him in the right direction. I was thinking along the lines of how the Norse has the Eddas, I figured Egypt had something similar to it. Please correct me if I'm wrong, and some advice on a good approach to this area.
((Sorry if this is in the wrong sub-forum, I wasn't sure if it belonged here or Questions and Advice. But I figured since I was asking for sources it'd be more appropriate in here. Please go ahead and move it San if you disagree.))

It's "Kemeticism". They have the Book of the Dead and so forth. There's a thread on it here.

Probably why I forgot all about it. I've looked at most of the threads in this guild already. So many different topics in a short amount of time is hard keeping track of all of them. @_@ I thought I remembered seeing something about Kemeticism, but couldn't remember if it was it's own thread or just mentioned in an unrelated thread.

I plan on doing some reading about Kemeticism as soon as I can get myself to the library (I just moved, so I still have to find where it is). I was recommended these books by some Kemetics: Maat: The Moral Ideal in Ancient Egypt -- Maulana Karenga Temple of the Cosmos -- Jeremy Naydler Eternal Egypt -- Reidy (sorry, don't have his first name) Maybe some of those will be helpful if you can got your hands on them?

Thank you, I'll look into these. =]

Maat is all about Egyptian philosophy, and Eternal Egypt focuses on rituals, and is, I think, more for modern Kemetics, but has got scholarly sources to back them up. I don't remember exactly what Temple of the Cosmos focuses on specifically, if anything. But hopefully, they will be useful to you. 3nodding

Yeah, I'm going to have to get all my books from Amazon since all the book stores near me went out of business. ;~; I just checked and Amazon has Temple of the Cosmos for $15 if you have the money/can order stuff online.

I don't have any money or I would have. All the money I had went to my phone bill so I was trying to get all the books from the library. Speaking of I have to go to the library Monday. Did you want me to send you my notes while I'm there? Or I'm thinking of possibly setting up a thread somewhere in the guild so others have access to it too.

A good way to help others and possibly a good way to brain storm and share ideas. 3nodding Not to sound like a broken record, but I just want to say thank you again, I really appreciate this.
