I've asked this question in so many DDR threads its not even funny. I need a good dance pad. Mid to top of the line. I have an apartment so a metal pad may not be the best but I'd like to know what's out there.
BTW. Has anyone had any troubles with a Red Octane dance pad? I have a hard foam one and its really screwy... gonk

Yeah, my Red Octane sucks. The Cobalt Flux is REALLY nice. Metal, but not huge like at the arcade or anything, and no bar. I think it runs for around 300, but I'm not sure. Way too expensive for me XP But my friend keeps talking about saving 300 for one, so I'm assuming that's what it costs.
Really nice to play on though, shoes or bare feet.

I think I got mine for like 50-80ish? A wireless dance pad made by pelican. It's not metal but you shouldn't put it on slipperly surfaces sweatdrop The button response isn't THAT great but it does work for 120+ I think...

All that I know is that my friend has a wireless one and that it screws up all of the time.

I've got a red octane one. It's firm, and it doesn't slip much. But the button response could be better. My top arrow has screwy response.

I have a hardfoam one that serves me quite well. It's not by Red Octane, and I got it off of ebay(I don't think it even has a brandname on it). I'm not sure how your pad works, but I think if it's the type you can unzip, you might try turning the foam inserts upside down to keep them from getting bowed outward ninja Other than that, you might try ebay for your dance pad needs. Something like this baby looks ultra shibby, but you might want to try and find reviews before buying one.

I had always considered making my own...
Just getting an old pad and pulling it apart so i can get how the buttons work.
