Everybody wants to be a master
Everybody wants to show their skill
Everybody wants to get there faster
Make their way to the top of the hill
The harsh alarm rang in Lucas' ear. 6:00 am. Lucas had turned thirteen last month and it was the day for all the new trainers to leave on their own journeys across the strange land of Illinue. Lucas slapped his alarm off of it's home of the nightstand and quickly went back to sleep. Fortunately for him, the alarm was switched off when it fell, so he could continue his peaceful sleep on the first day of his new adventure. Though, something didn't seem right. As if he was forgetting something. "Oh, Rue, our journey, together." Lucas mumbled in his sleep. His dream too important to be disrupted by anyone. Time soon past and he was still in his bed, paralyzed by his tantalizing dream.

Suddenly, a loud bang on the door woke him up.
Hey! Luke! Wake up! It's 10 o'clock! We're gonna miss out the first takes! Wake up!
As Luke's childhood friend and cousin, it had naturally became Rue's responsibility to look after him for every single action he took. Of course, at times when Rue couldn't take it anymore, she gently beat him up to a pulp in order to avenge her anger.
Luke. If you make me miss my chance to get the Starter Pokemon I wanted, I swear your upcoming adventure will be a total nightmare.

"Ah, yes. My ever so loving cousin." Lucas thought to himself. He slowly slid out of bed and onto the carpeted floor. He glanced at the clock to make sure Rue wasn't lying and slipped on his jeans, polo shirt and vest. He located his shoes and fumbled with them. As he was about to open the door, he remembered his red and white hat which looked out of place with the rest of his outfit. "Gee, thanks for the wake up call." He said sarcastically.

If you don't like it, stop breaking all the alarm clocks. That one right there was your 12th one this month.
Rue grabbed a medium size white box decorated with red ribbons and hand it to Lucas.
Here's the 13th one. Consider it as your early birthday present. Anyway, let's go!
As the two hurried over to the Professor's laboratory, a flock of Pidgey and Pidgeotto flew past above their heads.
Ah~ What a lovely day. A waste to sleep through such a fine day. Don't you agree, Luke?

Lucas grabbed the box and placed it on his bed, without opening it. As he exited, he mumbled something sarcastic under his breath about sleeping. "So, what were the choices, again? I wasn't paying attent- I mean, I forgot." Lucas said, quickly catching himself and covering up with a lie. He played with a piece of paper in his pocket that listed the directions to the lab, however as often as Rue had gone to check up on her favorite Pokémon, it was not needed.

Rue stopped for a moment and felt troubled by the question. She hesitated on replying but then proudly declared, "I don't remember." Quickly trying to cover her embarrassment, Rue dashed as fast as she could toward the lab, leaving Lucas behind dumb founded.

"But what about- HEY!" Lucas chased after his embarrassed cousin, trying to close the space in between them. After about 5 minutes of running, they managed to reach the lab, where the gates were wide open, welcoming proud new trainers. Lucas exchanged a look with Rue and headed inside of the white colored building.

Say, Luke. What's the name of the Professor again? He has that odd sounding name that is nothing like those other professors. Peak? Pin?
As Rue tried to remember the professor's name, they reached the end of the hall way. The door was decorated with different types of Pokeballs in varieties of colors. It was slightly open, so Rue pushed their way in.

"I think I read Pimp. Not sure if that's such a great name, but to each their own." Lucas said as he cautiously followed Rue into the room. "I don't think we should be here." The small sound of footsteps echoed through the hallway. It wasn't a lone person, there were two people. "Rue! Quick! Inside!" Lucas whispered, before finding out that she had already gone inside. Lucas quickly rushed in to join her.

"Eeeeek!" Rue shrieked as she entered the room. "L-l-luke! L-l-l-look!" Her voice trembled as she pointed him toward a shadowy figure standing near an odd machine.

"Hey! What are you doing here!?" Lucas yelled, taking a leadership position while his cousin cowered in fear. Lucas kept his guard up, hoping that there wouldn't be a confrontation. "Rue, be careful."
"You youngster better have a good reason for barging in here for no good reason!" The man yelled. As he came out of the shadows, the young trainers knew who the man was. It was none other than Professor Pimp!
"Oh! Professor! Please forgive my cousin for being so dense." Lucas begged. The footsteps were heard again and Lucas turned to meet them. It was two other trainers that were assigned to receive their first Pokémon today! "Oh, so those were the footsteps that I heard. Heh heh?" Lucas laughed, embarrassed.

Rue stepped harshly on Lucas' foot as he called her dense. She slightly bow and apologized to the professor for intruding the room without permission. "I'm sorry, professor. The hallway was so dark I didn't know where I was going. I'm sorry."
She then turned to the two other trainers and shout in surprised, "Keith! You're here!"
Keith, another trainer who were also supposed to receive his first Pokemon today, is Rue's younger twin brother as well as Lucas' cousin. "Hey there, sis.... And my idiot cousin, Lucas."
