Name: Zeke D. Montelle
Age: 27
Race: human… for the most part.
Gender: male
Sexuality: homosexual
Division: n/a
Rank: captain
Appearance:
User Image
Height: 6’0”
Weight: 150lbs
Devil's Fruit: Sloth Sloth Fruit
Devil Fruit Ability: The user has the ability to shift into a full (three toed) sloth form, as well as a furry, lanky and clawed hybrid form. The hybrid form is surprisingly strong, as most sloths have to be to cling to trees
Personality: Zeke is laid back and lazy. He’s the type you could run to saying, “Zeke, pirates are attacking! There’s a massacre in the village!” and he would slowly get up, heave a sigh, and walk casually towards the village. That doesn’t mean he holds low regard for human life, of course. He would happily take a blow for an innocent child. His views have a way of leaning towards cynical and grouchy, and he’s likely to attempt a capture if he finds you’re a pirate. However, if a pirate doesn’t cause much trouble and has done nothing of insult to him personally, he’s likely to allow them to escape to sea.
Biography: Zeke was born on the 24 of May to a poor, widowed woman. He had two sisters and two brothers, all of which were older than him. His sisters worked in the marketplace, selling tomatoes and other fresh vegetables and fruits their mother grew. One of his brothers, the eldest of them all, enlisted in the military, quickly working his way up to ensign. His brother was brave, strong-willed and a powerful swordsman. Zeke was lazy, easily bored and unmotivated. It was amazing he made it through the initial training. His brother had saved a commander's life (from choking) and managed to ask that his brother was put as a chore boy on the ship he worked on. The request went through, and it took a year or so for Zeke to be promoted to a seaman recruit. His life consisted of failing at swordsfighting, nearly shooting his captain in the head when asked to fire a pistol and accidentally giving half the crew food poisoning for three years out to sea. His time to shine didn't come until there was a tough battle with pirates.
The captain was outnumbered, overpowered and outwitted. The pirates defeated a good fourth of the crew and were making their escape; Zeke was nowhere to be seen on the battle field. The captain was bloody and half-dead, but followed the pirates until they got towards the docks. As the captains stepped on the docks, some boards fell through, ensnaring four of the crew members, including the captain and first mate. Immediately afterwards, a seastone net (which had been acquired in the ship's hold) was dropped over the rest of the crew from above. The captain was amazed as, of all the crew members, Zeke stepped forwards, twirling a hammer. The trap had been his doing, and there were subtle hints all through the battle of Zeke herding the pirates in his direction. Zeke, the laziest and worst of the marines, had won one of their toughest battles for them.
The pirate's treasures were confiscated, and as a party was held on deck (they were a pretty lax division). A devil fruit had been found, and they were debating what to do with it- report it to their superiors, or keep it? Give it to one of the marines or sell it? The captain held the answer. This spoil of war goes to Montelle." Confused, a lot of the marines looked to Zeke's brother. However, the fruit was handed to Zeke. "Do whatever you want with it," the captain said. Zeke, however, was quite ignorant to the existence of such a strange fruit and took a bite. It tasted horrible, but Zeke thought it would be rude to say something when his captain had graciously given it to him (okay, so he didn't want to be mopping for three weeks. Sue him). Later, he found he'd eaten the Sloth-Sloth Fruit. Most laughingly told him it fit his personality to a 't'. Zeke got a few promotions for his brave acts (though most turned a blind eye to the fact he was too lazy to actually fight in the first place) and soon made it as a captain himself, in charge of his own crew. He's stayed in that rank for a while, and his men know him well. They've developed the plans, plots, tricks and traps together, and in all, they're fairly tough opponents; especially for those that don't watch where they walk.
Dream: to go to Skypeia and take a nap on a cloud… what? It’s reasonable.
Weapon: he tends to use no weapon other than the claws on his hybrid form.
Fighting style: Zeke, as his mother would say, “is a lover, not a fighter.” Well, he’s not much of a lover either; far too much work courting ladies. He likes to show his badge to pirates and panic them by dodging or blocking all attacks thrown. Once they realize he's a lot more capable than previous belief, he chases them (a slow, seemingly casual walk after them) into a trap set up by his men. When push comes to shove and all traps fail, he goes to hybrid form and uses his claws (which are kept nice, sturdy and sharp) to fight (if you've pushed him this far, he's probably aiming to kill you). When fighting, his moves are highly offensive, aiming to overpower and outlast the enemy rather than pull any speedy, high-energy attacks.
Techniques:

xxxxxPlan A: nicknamed the "alleyway snap trap" by Zeke's men, Zeke calls in the location of the pirates and holds them in an area (most likely taking them to a tavern to buy them drinks). While Zeke is distracting the enemy, his men put a trip wire over the entrance to an alleyway and put a thin wire net on the ground. Four special machines are placed on top of the buildings, disguised to look like random hunks of junk. When the trip wire is pulled, the machines are activated, the net goes up and (hopefully) there are a bunch of drunk pirates inside. This works best when the men in Zeke's crew block off all other routes.
xxxxxPlan B: your basic "ambush" plan. Zeke leads/chases the pirates into an area with heavy foliage, in which his crew is hiding. The crew pops out, already surrounding the enemy. From there, rifles are pointed and curses are thrown. The pirates could either fight, or surrender. Considering this is used when the pirates are easily outnumbered, most surrender. Rarely does Plan B turn to Plan Z.
xxxxxPlan C: nicknamed "Lotus Flower." Specially equipped marine divers set up four wooden planks, connected by one side and flowering out much like a lotus flower. Heavy objects (ie, rocks, spikes, the blunt end of hammers) are attached to the end of these planks. This is usually positioned beneath or attached to the bottom of a pirate ship, and once the pirates set off, the signal is given, the trap snapped, their hull smashed through.
xxxxxPlan Z: the last resort plan for when Zeke is forced to fight hand to hand.

Mmm, I don't see any real issues with powers or history here.

Approved. (:

(On a side note, does Zeke have a branch that he commands? Some marine captains are seen to command numbered branches, so it's more of a curiousity than a necessity. )

You wouldn't have to make one or name it, as named divisions aren't really shown in the canon anime/manga. They are named, but terms of numbers and branches, such as "8th Branch" if they are in command of a small fleet, or just captain if they're in charge of a more forward base, like G-8, or something. xP

*strokes nonexistant beard* I'll have to put some thought into this...
