Monkey D. Luffy had achieved his dream, sailing through the Grand Line and becoming the Pirate King. In the fifty years that followed, pirates dwindled. Crews were either extremely strong or unbelievably weak. The marines, with less work to do, became lazy. The shichibukai were hardly needed anymore. The world became a little more relaxed... until the marines managed to capture Monkey D. Luffy's crew. Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, Franky were all detained and set to be executed. Then, something truly horrid happened.

Luffy turned himself in.

The deal was that his execution would clear his crew's records, and though many people tried to oppose the execution, Monkey D. Luffy was executed.

With his death, a new age of pirates began. People rushed back to piracy, back to the Grand Line, back to search for One Piece. Now pirates, marines, bounty hunters and civillians alike share their stories as the new age progresses.
