xxxxxYoroi (meaning "Armor") Island is a marine stronghold in disguise. When one lands on the island, all that meets the eye is a quaint village and a bustling market place. Further inland are residences and private businesses, like any normal town. However, in the woods there are secretive, hidden caves which lead into South Blue's largest marine base, concealed underground completely. While the town and townspeople lull pirates/criminals into a false sense of security, marines can have them surrounded in an instant through trap doors in shops and homes.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ xxxxxIt didn't take the boat long to wash up on the sandy white beaches of an unfamiliar island. Sunny pulled the boat from the tide's grasp, then sat on the railing at the back, staring out to sea. She'd been uncharacteristically quiet and calm since Alka left, and she couldn't help but wonder if her first mate was alright. Alka was strong, of course, but a cannonball would probably hurt her like a bullet would hurt a normal human, right? So she was in danger. The island itself wasn't extremely favorable. The shoreline had little slope, meaning Alka wouldn't be able to come too close when she came, and if she did, it might cause an uproar. Sunny couldn't clearly see the town (she heard some noise from over a hill and assumed that was the town), and all that mattered was her first mate at the moment. She wanted to know where and how she was- because if Alka was hurt, Sunny would have to go find the marines who hurt her and kick their a**.
xxxxx"Sitting here isn't going to help or change anything," Sunny said aloud, following a sigh. Putting on a confident smile, she jumped back on deck and faced the town, "If anything, I should go scout out the town and make sure it's okay for us to be here!" Without a second thought, Sunny started to run towards the hill. Halfway up the hill she stopped, then checked the sun. With a more serious look, she noted, I have about six hours. Smiling, she nodded to herself and ran recklessly towards the village once more.

 The Road to Dawn sailed slowly into the port of the village. Kyo looked out at the town from the bow of the ship"this looks like a quiet place to rest for awhile you guys"he slowly walked off of the ship and toward the village "I hope no marines or bounty hunters show up here..." thought Kyo as he scanned the landscape slowly"looks safe enough" Takeshi walked off the ship as well"looks can be deceiving Kyo you know that"he strapped his gunblade to his back and looked around carefully before moving forward"Ayame you coming or what?" Ayame sighed lightly"you know Takeshi you've become a real pain! Just because you are my older brother doesn't mean that you can treat me like a kid!"she made her hand into a gunshape and shot a bullet of fire near Takeshi's feet"just remember I'm not as weak as you think!"

______________________________________________________________________________ After maybe an hour had gone by from rescuing survivors and salvaging what little equipment they could from their attack, Soren and his over stuffed boat sailed into port, docking as the men were greeted by other Marines who'd already been contacted, they led the men through one tunnel way that hid in a small market as Soren and two of his lieutenants had headed towards a local tavern... Sorens Lieutenants entered and held the door open for him as they each took a seat at a table... Sorens head was slightly lowered and his eye's were wide. "Something wrong sir?" One of the Lieutenants finally asked... "I've never lost a ship in my care before... nor have I lost a life... I'm called the shield of hope yet I can't protect my men... such a title I do not deserve yet..." He said shutting his eye's and laughing quietly as his Men spoke up. "Sir... Something like that... it couldn't have been predicted... or prepared for... we didn't know until it was to late... it's not your fau-" "You're wrong Lieutenant... I'm responsible for every life in my division... Meaning when someone dies under my command... I'm the one who's going to tell their grieving family..." He said with a slight frown.
"I'm the one who let them die... And I regret it... but don't pity me because of it... I'm simply having something of a moment...for now drinks are on me... you both will be taking death tolls on who survived and who didn't tonight anyways so you may as well enjoy your selves for now..." He said as a bar maid made her way to their table... His Lieutenants ordered two large beers. "Just a glass of orange juice please" He said as she arched an eye brow at Soren for a moment before nodding and turning to get their drinks... After maybe ten minutes... Both his lieutenants were already hammered while Soren had simply crossed one leg over the other, and had started reading a book ocean Sea Kings... ______________________________________________________________________________

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ xxxxxSunny made it into town quick, out of breath, tired, thirsty and hungry. A small frown decorated her face, as she walked through, looking at the marketplace stands filled with fresh fruits, fish; there was even a stand where a man was making ramen! The smells wafting about was making her upset tummy even angrier, what had once been a stomping child was now Godzilla raging through the Tokyo that was her stomach. Sunny sighed, and with the sigh, seemed to deflate a little. "...and I don't have any money, either..." Walking slowly towards the nearest empty booth (it sold something that looked eerily like shrunken heads), Sunny asked where the nearest tavern was. The old woman running the stand pointed to the first of many old buildings, then asked if she wanted a talisman. Muttering a hurried 'no thanks,' Sunny rushed her way to the tavern.
xxxxxIf there was one thing Sunny knew, it was that taverns had drinking, smoking and gambling; the last of which was easily won with a poker face and some feigned ignorance. Maybe she could weasle her way into a game and make some money from nothing. With that in mind, Sunny strolled casually into the bar, instantly cringing at the wave of thick cigar smoke from a nearby table. A bunch of shirtless barbarians celebrating something and drinking waaaaaay too much. Coughing a little, Sunny started to make her way to the bar, closely examining each table for any signs of gambling.

______________________________________________________________________________ Soren's gaze remained set on his book as people entered and exited the tavern constantly. Tho when a young looking girl had entered... His Lieutenants had stood up as they'd both approached her... "Hey there... Foxy mo- hic- ma... hows about you... and -hic- me...-" He was cut off by Soren's second Lieutenant. "No you and me!" He said as they both butted head ans gritted teeth at one another as Soren stood up slowly, sighing quietly. He walked up behind the both of them before lightly waking them on the tops of their heads with his shut book. "you two have had to much to drink... head back to the barracks and get some rest... I want that tole count by the morning..." He said as his men rubbed the tops of their heads before turning to start walking back to the barracks, exiting the tavern. Soren simply smiled at the girl as he rubbed the back of his head. "I apologize... my men can... get a little out of hand... please let me buy you something to apologize for their actions" He said taking a step to the side to let her walk to the bar front, holding out his hand in the bar's direction to point her towards it. ______________________________________________________________________________

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ xxxxxAn awkward expression passed over Sunny's face as the two men started hitting on her, and she was about to mumble a string of excuses not to come with either of them when a man walked up and sent them off. "Thank you," Sunny said, smiling awkwardly. She was glad someone in the tavern was a gentleman. While normally, when she had her own money and wasn't too hungry, she would've gracefully declined his offer, she was hungry and somewhat worried that he wouldn't insist if she denied, so she sheepishly nodded her head and started to the bar once more. Glancing at him, she blushed, noticing he was rather handsome. "I'm Sunny," she said, in means of sheepish introduction.
{Suck post. Bleh.}

'Hm... that's a first... someone actually accepted my apology' He thought to him self with a quiet laugh as he took a seat next to her at the bar. "It's a pleasure to meet you Sunny, I'm Soren" He said as the bar tender came to them both. "Just orange juice for me again" He said looking back to Sunny. "Go ahead and order anything you want, don't be nervous either, this is to say sorry so I'll spare no expense..." He said... Tho in the back of his mind his cheapness was gnawing at him... 'What happens if this girl is one of those twigs that can really pack it away...oh god I hope she isn't... I know I offered... but I'd rather not be cleaned out in one day... Sadly the navy doesn't pay all that well...' He thought, tho his facial expression showed no real worry. "So tell me Sunny... What brings someone like you to such a rough tavern? Tho I suppose I'm judging you by your looks... for all I know you could be a bounty hunter or even a pirate" He said with a quiet laugh. "Or I suppose a better question would be are you a local here? or a temporary guest like my self" He asked resting his head in his right hand, letting his elbow rest against the counter top. ______________________________________________________________________________

Kyo walked into the tavern with an air of caution and sat at a table"so these must be the town drunks? Sure hope they don't pick a fight with Takeshi..."he looked at a menu and sighed"great nothing but alcohol..." Takeshi sat a the same table with Kyo"whats wrong? Can't hold your liquor?"he teased playfully"you know you will have to get used to it Kyo" Ayame stopped to look at Soren for a minute before walking to the others"hey guys I think I know that man over there..."she kept her eyes on him and had a nervous look on her face"if he is who I think he is we could be in real trouble here..."she thought as she looked at the floor

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ xxxxxSunny smiled brightly to the bartender, "Some ramen and apple juice, please!" Sunny usually was one of those 'twigs that can really pack it away' but when someone else was buying, she ate less to spare them a large bill. Some pirate she was. While waiting on her food, she grinned to Soren, "Temporary guest." Sunny frowned when asked why she was here- not an 'it's a sad tale' frown, but more of a 'let me think how to phrase this' frown. "Well, I was out to sea with my friends, and we didn't have any money and were running out of supplies. My friend managed to catch a fish, but before I could cook it, some enemies were firing cannons near us, so we had to run. My friend went towards them to lead them away... she's a really nice person... I hope she's okay..." Sunny took a moment to frown towards the bar, but then looked back to Soren, looking possibly brighter and happier than before, "But she's my nakama, and she's strong, so I'm sure she'll find me no matter what."

______________________________________________________________________________ 'Well at least she doesn't drink' He thought shutting his eye's as his smile turned calm. He listened to Sunny as she spoke as he opened one eye. "Cannon fire? Were you two attacked by pirates? or something of that nature?" He asked looking to the side for a moment. 'cannon fire... was it ours? no... the only thing that came to stop us was that miniature Sea king like creature..., And even then it wasn't really stopping us... it just attacked us out of nowhere...' He thought to him self before looking back to Sunny. "I see... well why don't you let me buy you some supplies to help you get back out on the sea, and if you tell me what your friend looks like and give me their name, I can keep my eye out for them" He said as the bar maid brought Soren's orange juice, and Sunny's Ramen and apple juice, basically cutting Soren off as he took a sip of his drink. 'facts point to her as being one of the pirates that escaped earlier... but she's not in the bounty book... and she's so small... how could she be a pirate... she's to... innocent?' He thought trying to think of a word for her... She just gave off the feeling of sunshine... Joy, things of that nature... Nothing like that of a pirate... But Soren was never one to look beyond logic... ______________________________________________________________________________

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ xxxxxSunny hummed, thinking over the incident. Actually, they hadn't been attacked at all; simply someone near them. "Nope! We just heard cannonfire and saw the flag. It was kind of common sense to run away." Smiling, Sunny thanked the barmaid and took a sip of her apple juice before taking a bite of the ramen. It was really good; the perfect food for someone in her condition. Her condition being incredibly hungry. She still listened as Soren talked, however, and her eyes went wide when he offered to buy her supplies. Dropping the fork, Sunny shook her head and waved her hands frantically, "That's too much! I mean, I've already imposed on you this much..." She gave a small chuckle and looked back at the food. He'd asked her to describe her first mate and, well, what could she say? She was... well... "My friend... well... she's really hard to describe. She's... well... she's just the type you know when you see. Her name is Alka. I'm not sure about the last name..." Sunny put on another contemplative frowns. How much didn't she know about her own first mate? I'll just have to ask when we meet up again, Sunny thought, nodding and going back to enjoying her ramen.

______________________________________________________________________________ "Ah, I see" He said. Tho found him self laughing quietly as he took another sip of his juice. "You haven't imposed on me at all... I was the one that offered after all... and I insist... I have no problem helping a fellow lover of the sea... As well a person my men have made an ill impression of... Again I apologize for them... I don't want the navy receiving a bad name because of a few drunken slurs... They went through quite a lot... so I figured I'd let them relax a bit..." He said shutting his eye's for a moment. "Alka... I see... I'll be sure to remember this, and ask around. but I'm sure if she's your friend then she must be fine" He said finishing his drink.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ xxxxxSunny took another bite of ramen as she listened to Soren. She was on her best behavior and she didn't really know why, but she realized soon enough. Seems her subconscious knew a marine when it saw one; she wondered if he was a part of the marines or what... which was really kind of sad, considering she was enjoying the conversation. "The navy?" Sunny repeated, "Are you a marine?" The question in itself was innocent; it was a common assumption when the navy was mentioned. It didn't draw any light to the fact that she was a pirate. The fact she'd never gotten around to raising the Night and Day Pirates' flag didn't hurt any, either. "Oh- but you really shouldn't worry about something like that. I'm... it's... okay. No need to worry, right?" She smiled, though another realization snapped in her mind. Taking another sip of apple juice, she realized she'd just accidentally told the marines Alka's name. If he was indeed a marine, then she'd betrayed her first mate! Somehow masking the panic, Sunny forced herself to take another bite of ramen. It was okay, right? They'd all get bounties eventually... but why did she have to open her big mouth! Luna was right- Sunny really was too trusting!

______________________________________________________________________________ Soren arched an eye brow at the girls reaction. "Well I'm something of a Marine... I'm actually the Captain of the Marine Division "The Shield of Hope"... My squad calls me by the division name which can get a little... strange to say the least... but so long as they respect the chain of command then nicknames are fine by me..." He said with a quiet laugh. "You shouldn't be so hard headed when someone offers to help you" He said patting her head once. "there's wanting independance... but then there's just not accepting a situation... don't worry I won't ask for anything in return if that's what your afraid of" He said with another quiet laugh. "besides, think of it this way... you can just get me to carry all the stuff for you" He said with a big smile in an attempt to seem friendly...
