She decided on become a professional wrestler at age 17 and began training as soon as she graduated high school and continued doing so while studying through college. At age 23, she finally broke into the business. At a young age, she had been exposed to the voodoo religion thanks to a lady friend of her father's named Madam Dubois, whom she saw as a mentor and a mother figure. Spending her summers with the Madam in Louisiana, Dallas began to practice and excel in the voodoo arts. Overtime, Dallas began to transition into various other forms of the arcane craft, dabbling in a little of everything. Due to this, she sometimes calls herself an 'eclectic witch'. However, a voodoo queen she will always be. Personality =Like her brother, Dallas has some sense of arrogance, but is mostly the more humble of the two. Dallas prides herself in being strong and capable of fighting just as well as the men. Those that have met Dallas knows she's very compassionate and loving to those she feels deserve to be treated as such. To those on her bad side, she has shown that she can have a bit of a temper and quite the vicious mouth on her. She very much enjoys helping others, and if she likes the person enough, she will help them do something...not so morally ethic. Like her brother, she can be a flirt when she wants to be. Though she's not very open about it, Dallas has a strong admiration for attractive men. Other Roles = -Often the manager of Marshall Lee and Clyde Otto -Will work as a manager for anyone else if asked. Relationships = Family:Marshall Lee: Half Brother - Marshall is Dallas' older half brother from her father's side. The two are only a month apart, revealing that their father had impregnated both his wife (Marshall's mother) and his mistress (Dallas' mother) around the same time period. Dallas loves her brother very much and often turns to him for advice and/or help. She enjoys his company and finds his antics amusing. She will do almost anything he asks her to, even going as far as to use her looks to 'persuade' those that Marshall needs out of the way or help from. While she's more than capable of defending herself, she knows as long as Marshall is around, she is in safe hands. Dallas can be very protective of Marshall and tends to take on his battles, sometimes to his dismay. She doesn't mind his promiscuity, but often questions the types of girls Marshall takes to his bed. Sometimes Dallas has been the cause of some of Marshall's breakups due to attitudes and 'attitude adjusting'. Other relations:Clyde Otto: Lifelong Best Friend - Dallas met Clyde during grade school, where he was known as the quirky 'weird kid who liked to eat crayons'. While others thought his personality was too intense and hyperactive, the Cruz siblings took a liking to the little ball of energy and formed one of their longest friendships up to date. Clyde see's Dallas as somewhat of an older sister (despite him being older than her by a few years), which results in the younger girl following him around and fussing over him; between her and her brother, Dallas is the one that tries to keep him in line where as Marshall encourages his erratic behavior. Omega (formally known as Kid Omega): Best Friend, Former Boyfriend, Mentor - Dallas met Omega after attending one of his shows, where she was lucky enough to met him. Expressing her desire to become a wrestler and revealing to him that he was her idol and inspiration, Omega took her on as student at his Mugendai Dojo. During her training, the student/mentor duo began a relationship, solidifying their already strong bond; though, the couple mutually decided to end their relationship on good terms. Dallas still considers Omega to be her best friend, loves him dearly and would do anything he'd ask her to without hesitation. She considers it an absolute honor to have studied under his guidance and even more so that he ranked her highest in his original class. Nikki Blade: Best Friend, Training Partner - Dallas had met Nikki through her brother, Omega, and befriended her while training with him. Being in the original class with her, a young Dallas felt rather intimidated being around so many that were rather unfamiliar with her until she was approached by Nikki, whom she quickly latched onto. The two grew close, often playfully giving each other grief; though at the end of the day, they knew no matter how harsh the words came, nothing would break their bond. Along with her brother, Nikki Blade is one of the few people that Dallas loves unconditionally and would do anything for. When Nikki approached Dallas asking for her blessing to name her first child after her, Dallas quickly agreed with no hesitation (and with joyful tears in her eyes). Dion Necurat: Close Friend - Dallas and Dion had both started their careers around the same time, both rookies full of potential. Both of them saw one another as a rival, a threat in their attempts to climb up the ladder of success. Though as they competed in matches with another and began to notice that neither had gotten the upper hand over the other; a friendship had begun to blossom. Their taunts had turned to more of a playful teasing. There have been hints of an attraction between the two, though it appears that nothing serious has come out of it other than playful, friendly flirtations. In a business where true friendships are hard to find and even harder to keep, Dallas knows Dion is someone she can count on and confide in. She watches his back, while he watches hers. Hiro Shin-Mozas: Close Friend - When Dallas first entered the business, Hiro was the first that offered to show her the ropes and became one of her first long lasting friends. While not always seeing eye to eye, even sometimes feuding against one another, the two often forget why they were upset at one another after a few days and quickly go back to being fast friends once more. After Hiro switched travel buddies, the two often traveled together and got into all sorts of shenanigans, more than often instigated by Hiro with Dallas reluctantly following along. After many years, the two still remain very close with Hiro often seeking 'mystical' advice from Dallas from time to time. As always, Dallas is always more than happy to indulge. Fun Facts = - In all four years of High School, Dallas was part of the power-lifting team. - Dallas graduated from the University of Texas at Corpus Christi with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. - Dallas only has one tattoo so far, which runs down the side of her chest, cupping her left breast and reaching down to her rib cage. Omega accompanied her when she had gotten it done and is one of the few people to have seen it fully. - A avid collector of wrestling memorabilia, one of her prized collections are her replicas of Omega's masks. - Dallas owns and runs her own spiritual supply and witchcraft shop in her hometown when she's not wrestling. - While she does not like to speak of it, Dallas has implied that she is barren. - After being kidnapped and tortured by Panophobia, it is revealed that Dallas suffers from aquaphobia, a severe fear of drowning/being submerged in water. - Hiro and Dallas have a very playful friendship, often playing pranks on one another backstage when working the same shows. - At one point in their younger days, Hiro and Dallas were once involved in a bar fight, with the latter being reluctantly pulled into the mess. BBW BBWrestling.com Segments Re-Awakening - After a long hiatus, I decided to return to in ring action using my male character, Marshall Lee and Dallas Cruz as his manager. I wanted to do something special and fun for me, rather than a usual 'surprise return match participant' or something of the sorts. I've always been a fan of cryptic hype videos, so I figured it would be fun enough to give it a try, resulting in at least a single segment per card, within the span of a few weeks (if I'm not mistaken). While this could have been executed much better now that I look back, it was the start of a long series that I very much enjoyed writing.
Do We Have Your Attention Now? - The second installment to my cryptic video series! This time, I figured it would be fun for my two character to begin targeting others with their antics. I originally had a few other wrestlers in mind, but ultimately decided to target random NPC's. I remember struggling to come up with something fun and provoking and settling with this idea. I'm rather pleased with it and had my fun writing it out.
We Wait - In this segment, I decided to turn my attention towards the big kahuna of BBW: General Manager, Matt Shanahan. Even the then Head of Talent Relations, Kelly King 2.0 made an appearance! While Dallas and Marshall held no ill feelings towards Matt, he was not exempt from their hijinks. They're little stunt ultimately ended up costing BBW's GM quite the fine for damages on the property. Also, it is to be noticed that the Cruz siblings decided to stick with a common theme to catch other's attention: vandalism.
Prepare - The second to the last of my cryptic return series, Dallas and Marshall too a bit of a darker turn. While it was revealed that the stage hand was not too seriously injured, this little stunt of 'stun and petrify' to a harmless stage hand was meant to send a message to everyone watching. That was message, that Marshall and Dallas were not afraid to get their hands dirty nor were they afraid of taking things to an extreme.
Decension - The last video of my series, this one I took a few creative liberties with. I wanted to do something different, something a bit longer than what I what I had pumped out the last couple of weeks. After several days of planning, I played the song used on repeat and began to write. I decided to use the "music video" format, making sure to keep my character's identities hidden, but still making it a bit obvious to those that were either fans of these characters or had managed to crack the code of the series. I wanted to emphasis the supernatural aspects of both characters: Dallas' voodoo aspect as well as Marshall's vampire qualities. At the end of the segment, I added the symbol that the two have claimed as their mark with an added "3-11" which would be the date they would debut.
The Rebirth of the Undead - After their return to in ring competition, I wanted to give a little back light on what my characters were up to during their extended hiatus. I wanted to write out an interview in style of a ".com" interview format. So I took this little experiment and went with it. I rather like how it turned out and do plan on doing more of these in the future.
Frustrations - After a few encounters with opponents no showing, Marshall decided to vent out his annoyances in the only way he knew how: complaining. While I held no ill feelings towards my opponents, as I understand that life gets in the way, I figured Marshall would take some offense to it, in character. Not necessarily aimed towards anyone in particular, Marshall cut a rather humorous interview about his recent 'streak of bad luck' while also embarrassing his sister in the process.
A Favor - This one didn't really have a particular goal, it was mostly the product of a creative bug I was bitten by at the time. I really wanted to bring the 'client/manager' relationship between Dallas and Marshall to light, along with Dallas' 'voodoo' gimmick. It's the typical story of "client asks voodoo queen for favor, witch performs ritual to aid them". Like with this entire gimmick, I did my research on a deity I could use. As to not appropriate the religion, I decided to keep the deity nameless and morph it into a creation of my own with a few traits influenced by the actual deity I had researched, as a tribute. It might also be one of my longest works up to date. Towards the end, I wanted to make note on how much Dallas' rituals and magick actually take a toll on her both physically and mentally, depending on what it is she does.
Where is She? - After being the targets of Panophobia, Marshall had done a rather decent job keeping them at bay. However, during a match, both members of Panophobia interfered with Marshall's match, causing a distraction as they kidnapped Dallas Cruz, who was missing for a long while. After searching high and low for her, a distraught Marshall revealed the stress he was under and cut a rather distressing promo in aims to get answers from his sister's kidnappers. Panophobia was quick to deliver, revealing that they still had Dallas held hostage and proceeded to use her greatest phobia to torture her, all while her brother watched helplessly in the ring. Because of the dark themes of this storyline, I wanted to show that both my characters had weaknesses that could be exploited. They weren't strong, stoic, 'no fears what so ever' types. They were actual human beings (for the most part), that feel pain, sorrow and fear just like anyone else. It was a reminder to myself, that no matter how 'powerful their abilities', they were not overpowered and 'no sellers'.
Atansyon Soti Avètisman - After being rescued by her brother and brought safety, not all was well with Dallas yet. She was obviously troubled, and was even beginning to question her faith. Dallas had prayed to her gods for help, and they did not come. Contacting them, she demanded answers on why they neglected to save their most loyal worshiper. The reactions she received were anger and offense, calming and reassurance, as well as blunt honesty. Her meeting with her gods ended in a single warning, for her not to meddle with deities and magick far too powerful for her. In this segment, I decided to explore the depths of Dallas' mind, picking at the psychological scars that were left behind after her kidnap and torture by the hands of Panophobia, as well as a lead up to a future storyline that was in the works.
Promos and Backstage Segments Reveal - After plaguing the BBW universe for weeks with their cryptic videos, Dallas and Marshall finally made their BBW debut and their in ring return! However, they earned themselves the ire of a certain drunken pirate, Captain John Hayes. Upset that someone would interrupt their 'special moment', the Cruz siblings did not take too kindly to this intruder. This would end up setting up a feud between Marshall Lee and Captain Hayes. My first promo and feud in what was probably about a year or two, if I remember correctly, I was rather nervous on taking on a male character as my main. However, it came rather naturally (not sure what this says about me) and this quickly became an interaction I had quite fun being part of.
At Death's Door - With a new supernatural force about to make it's presence known in BBW, Dallas found herself a target to a deity that no human being will ever escape. Dallas came face to face with Death, later revealing himself to be the new form of Seita Gray. Thankfully, it was not time for Dallas' life to come to an end, Seita wasn't there to reap her soul. Instead, he gave her a warning. She and her brother, were meddling in matters they should not be messing with. Her brother had cheated death once while she dabbled with the dead with her arcane skills. Death was not to be trifled with and Seita made this perfectly clear, stating the next time they would meant, would be the last. In this segment, I volunteered Dallas to be a target for Kelly King's character, allowing her to be tormented in order to make himself known. It was a pleasure working with King and this segment will always remain one of my favorites. Anything to put a favorite of mine over.
Pirate Gone Mad - In continuation with his rivalry with Captain Hayes, Marshall could be seen partaking in some harmless flirting with a cute female crew member when he was attacked from behind by the drunken pirate! Complete with smashed bottles over heads, and a bag full of garlic dumped on him, Hayes made it very clear that he was not to be taken lightly, as there was nothing worse than an angry pirate on the loose. Fun and rather over the top, this also was an incredibly fun snippet to write out, despite being on the short side. I'm always a sucker for my characters getting jumped backstage.
Be Still, My Friend - Tying in with the 'Atansyon Soti Avètisman' segment, Dallas could be seen backstage and seemingly minding her own business. Crafting what looks to be a voodoo doll, a door she's blocking begins to rattle and shake, strongly implying that there is some unwordly beast on the other end that she had summoned for unknown reasons. Attempting to calm this being, the creature seems to take offense to that and violent slams itself against the door, startling the voodoo queen. I wanted to give Dallas a vibe of desperation leading into this plot. Ignoring the warning of her gods, Dallas has began to dabble in dark magick beyond her skill. Still living in fear of her past trauma, she turned turned to unwordly and feared gods for guidance. I wanted to show that Dallas sometimes gets way in over her head, biting off more than she could chew. I went about this by having Dallas begin to fear and question if what she had done was really the right way to go.
Final Farewell -At BBW's final show, Dallas and Marshall were seen up on the rooftop of the arenas building what looks like a pyre. After some reminiscing about the antics they had accomplished as well as the fun they had, the duo light the pyre which was revealed to be in the shape of the symbol they had spread throughout the company during they're cryptic video series. After Marshall took his very 'batty' leave, Dallas remained to perform one last ritual before vanishing all together. I wanted to do something special for the last show, something to show my absolute love and adoration to a guild I remained loyal to since my debut to the guild. I used the symbol these two had claimed as a bit of a throwback, figuring it would be neat to have them go back to doing something similar they would do before they debuted. Dallas' last ritual was meant to be a way of her tying a part of herself to BBW, implying that as long as BBW was up and running, she would be part of it's roster as well as implying that she would be returning if BBW ever opened it's doors once again. Of course, this was also my way of saying that any time BBW was up and running again, I would not hesitate to return.
