It has a little over two years since the wrestling community has seen or heard from the enigmatic Dallas Cruz and her charming brother Marshall Lee. The duo was last seen walking away from the wrestling ring, giving little to no explanation. It seemed that the sibling pair had disappeared completely from the wrestling circuit. Those that follow Dallas (@VoodooQueen) and Marshall (@FangedFreak) on Twitter have noticed the two have kept their reasons hushed, going as far as to avoid questions and comments involving anything having to do with the squared circle and the business.
Luckily enough, Dallas and Marshall agreed to sit with us and answer a few of our questions.
BBWrestling.com: "Thank you for joining us today, you two. As soon as we heard of your arrival, we've been itching to get you guys in. How does it feel to be back?"
Dallas: "Oh, it's great, really great. In all honesty, I was starting to miss it. Glad to see the fans haven't forgotten me."
Marshall: "Can't say much on this, really, since I wasn't around very long. But some of the fans have gotten to know me during my active months and I'm grateful they continued wanting to see me. It makes me happy I get to entertain them again.
BBWrestling.com: "What have you two been up to since we last saw you?"
Marshall: "As most of you may know, I'm a musician. My band and I have been busy with the recording of our latest album as well as touring around the country and overseas. When I'm not doing that, I'm busy with the affairs of my clan."
BBWrestling.com: "Your clan?"
Marshall: [laughs] "Yeah, my clan. You know, others like me."
BBWrestling.com: "Other...vampires, you mean?"
Marshall: "Of course. They're everywhere, just walking among you guys and y'all don't even notice."
BBWrestling.com: "...Really. Are yo-"
Marshall: "Why don't you ask my sister what she was up to, huh?" [smirks]
BBWrestling.com "Well...yes, back on track then. Dallas, what were you up to doing your leave?"
Dallas: "I managed to open up a shop back home in Corpus, a voodoo shop. I help people that need assistance. Card readings, spells and potions, exorcisms even. "
BBWrestling.com: "Exorcisms? You can do that?"
Dallas: "Of course. I've had a lot of practice since the last time you all saw me. My skills are much more powerful now. Enough to where I can be considered a priestess now."
BBWrestling.com: "Impressive! Will we be seeing some of your abilities out in the ring?"
Dallas: [laughs] "Maybe, if my brother needs my help."
BBWrestling.com: "Marshall, will you be needing any of your sister's help?"
Marshall: [smiles] "I'll take any help she can give me, I'll admit. I'm not that prideful enough to decline help, especially help of this caliber."
Dallas: "Not that he needs it much. You should see how much Marshall has improved in the ring. He's a natural, I'm telling ya. He learns quick too!"
Marshall: "Dallas, you flatter me."
BBWrestling.com: "We've noticed you've recently began to favor working as a manager than an in ring competitor. Has Dallas Cruz retired from in ring competition?"
Dallas: "No, of course not! Believe me, I'm not where near done when it comes to wrestling. I already have a career going, I already have a name to me. I think I can put that on hold while I help my brother get his started."
BBWrestling.com: "Are your managerial skills open to anyone? Or are you exclusive to Marshall only?"
Dallas: "Oh, I'm open to helping anyone that needs my skills...for the right price, of course." [smirks] "Anyone that needs me is more than welcome to come to me, but for now, I'm not leaving my brother's side until the both of us know he doesn't need anymore help."
BBWrestling.com: "Marshall, you two created quite a stir when it came to hyping up your return. Why all the cryptic videos?"
Marshall: "To make people think. Where's the fun in just knowing who's the person behind the videos? Tell me something, what's more memorable? A simple video with my name slapped on it that some middle school techie could have done? Or complex, cryptic video that required you to do some thoughtful thinking in order to deceiver, if you were even able to crack the code, that is."
BBWrestling.com: "And what was the code?"
Marshall: "Exactly my point. I got people talking. They didn't know it was me, but they definitely were talking. They expected something great, and I like to think I didn't disappoint."
BBWrestling.com: "Your videos all have one thing in common. That red and black symbol. Mind telling us what that means?"
Marshall: "The black symbol is my interpretation of an ankh. The ankh represents eternal life and is a common symbol among my kind. Each one of us is different, therefore my ankh is different than others. The red vines behind that is my sister's symbol. Behind every great man is a great woman. Thorned vines are beautiful to look at but can hurt you if handled the wrong way. Sounds a lot like Dallas, huh?"
BBWrestling.com: "That makes a lot of sense now that you've explained it to us, actually."
Marshall: "Exactly. See what I mean? Memorable. Try to forget it, bet you can't."
BBWrestling.com: "Well, now that you're back, maybe you can tell us a little about what you have planned for BBW?"
Marshall: "I want to be the most known wrestler in this company. I want my face on every poster, I want my name on every t-shirt. I want to be the biggest asset this company has."
BBWrestling.com: "How do you plan on doing that? Winning the BBW World Championship?"
Marshall: "I don't need to hold a title to be the face of a company. I'm in no hurry for titles. But...a title belt would look pretty around my gorgeous waist. Ain't that right, Dal?"
Dallas: "You know it."
Marshall: "See, I don't think a title makes a star. Sure, it enhances your notoriety, but when you're already off to a good start and already have the 'it' factor, much like myself, I don't really need to be in the title run to get people to notice me. I just want to do my own thing right now rather than have to put up with the pressure of being a champ. Pretty sure I'm already a target as it is, don't need another bounty on my head."
BBWrestling.com: "What challenges do you think you two will encounter now that you're back?"
Marshall: "There's always going to be someone that has a problem with me, for whatever reason. Maybe it's because they don't like my ego, maybe it's because I'm just too damn pretty. Whatever it may be, there's always going to be someone flinging negative crap my way, trying to throw me off my momentum, trying to bring me down to their own mediocre level. I'm not going to let that happen though. I'm too damn good to get caught up with their nonsense."
Dallas: "There's a lot of people that don't like me due to what I do. They think I'm some sort of devil worshiper, some sort of evil witch. Pretty sure they also think I cheat when I pray to my gods during matches. There's nothing wrong with what I do. It's my religion. You pray to your gods, I pray to mine. There's probably going to be some people either targeting me or avoiding me. I don't really care, mind you. As long as they do me or my loved ones no harm, I could care less what narrow minded folk say or think."
BBWrestling.com: "We really appreciate you two coming here today, it's been a joy speaking to you finally. One last question, if you don't mind, a question that has been on almost everyone's mind. Why did you two leave way back?"
Marshall: "..." [chuckles] "You know, I think we're out of time. We should really get going, huh, Dallas?"
Dallas: [smiles] "We do. We got a busy day ahead of us. Thank you for having us, guys. It was a pleasure."
Marshall: "We should do this again sometime."
BBWrestling.com: "Uh...well...alright then. Thanks again for coming. We look forward to having you two back again. Best of luck to both of you."
