Devil Fruit Ability: This fruit allows the user to generate 'invisible' shields simply with a gaze. These shields can be moved, and their overall size is unknown (simply because they cannot be seen). As for how many can be created at time really depends on the size. If the user is making one big enough to cover a ship from cannon fire, then the over all number they could protect would be fairly limited (there is a set shield range, meaning the user could create one large one with enough length to protect a total of ten ships (so long as their not TO far apart), but if asked to shield ten ships individually, all the same length, then this is a feat that would not be possible. While these shields can be broken, that doesn't mean new ones can't be created right after behind it. Tho there is a one second lag time between shield creation. However, Cannon fire isn't nearly enough to shatter these shields. It would take one hell of a force to shatter one fully. When a shield is broken however, it's like the user is getting stuck against the head (nothing to serious, but it is fairly painful).
Personality: Soren is fairly laid back and seems to be able to think him self out of any situation, no matter how bad it seems to get.
Biography: Soren is a boy who lost his family to Pirates, tho this wasn't his reason for wishing to join the marines... Let's start at the beginning shall we? Soren was a boy born in the north blue, as for where, he's still yet to openly admit this. His mother was a Pirate, and his father was a Marine, Soren had been born in secrecy and fed a Devil fruit right off the bat... His parents hope it would let him choose his own path in life, using the powers of the sea them selves... The irony... After he'd born, just three months into his life, his parent's had been found out, and were both executed, while Soren him self was taken into custody by the marines. He was given to a local family, the father a proud marine, the mother a small bar and tavern owner. To this day their both still living, and Soren still visits from time to time. But I suppose we're getting a little off subject.
After reaching the age of sixteen, the boy joined the marines, but still didn't know of his devil fruit powers... He was placed on a vessel for the first time and sailed the seas for three years straight without even a sign of a pirate... When he'd finally returned home to his family, he was welcomed warmly... Tho the next day his home town was attacked... The boy of course rallied with his Division and fought off the attackers, but they were left with heavy casualties... The pirates returned the next day, regrouped only this time to have their Captain lead the way... Their Captain was a devil fruit used with a two hundred thousand Beli reward on his head... Soren's commanded led the charge against them, tho died quickly as the Captain had cut Soren's down... Soren stood with three men left by his side... All of them, Soren him self terrified, tho when his parents rushed out in an attempt to protect the boy... Well... This was when his powers came into turn that day...
The enemy Captain had attempted to use his Devil fruit powers to squish Sorens parents with the very earth around them... Tho Before the large chunks of rock could squish his parents from the sides... They seemed to his some kind of invisible wall, and shatter... Soren stood there gripping both sides of his head tightly... Not the most heroic thing in the world, but this was a first for him... Never the less. The other pirates tried to charge the group of six, only to all run into some kind of wall yet again... They all swung at nothing, each hitting something... They even tried using guns... Nothing seemed to work as Soren finally started approaching the group... With each step he took, that invisible wall of nothing seemed to move back two steps worth of a distance... Even when the Captain tried to use earth to stop it... There was no effect as the rock was split and pushed forward...
The pirates attempted to retreat onto their ships, but when they tried to move the thing, they found that it was stuck in place... Soren stood there at the side of the ship as the group of pirates even tried to use a Cannon on the boy... The ball exploded before it could even make it out of the cannon barrel, the explosion triggered a chain reaction from the other Cannon balls which had been stored in the cannon room... Needless to say, the ship went boom... However the Captain him self had survived... Soren brought him into the marines where he still remains locked away and Soren him self was given control of his old Captains Division... He named the Division (well in name more so then number): "The shield of Hope". The reason he's done this, and he's become to renowned throughout the Navy, is that he's never lost a man to a mission he's been part of... His ship(s) always seem to come back without a scratch... Rumors have even begun to circulate that Soren with one ship and a crew, managed to defeat a small fleet of pirate ships alone... Tho... These are rumors backed without reports... So they say anyways...
Dream: To become the Supreme Commander of the Navy
Weapon(s): A simple flintlock pistol and sword.
Fighting style: Soren learned the basic Marine hand-hand combat, as well as marksmanship, and sword play. He's no master in either of these departments, but he can use and/or as in hold his own against most others. Tho rumors have began circulating that this Captain has been seen training in 'secret', using some kind of kicking related martial arts style.

Collosal Condension
By Creating a series of shield around a target or ship, Soren can literally destroy the thing by compressing it. However this technique only works against smaller ships simply because if a ship is TO big, then Soren's gaze cannot extend the total of said ship. (Soren must be able to see where his shields are being generated)
Invisible Armor:
Soren can actually generate a full body shield around his own body, He often uses this as more of a weapon then actual armor, simply because he shapes the shielding that runs along his hands as either pointy or thin/bladed for stabbing or cutting purposes, this is considerably effective simply because a combatant can never tell the length of the weapons being formed.
