Ginger reclined back in the couch, reading her favorite manga. Occasionally looking up to watch her mother cook. "Dinner almost done?"

Elliot got ready, his thin but sturdy blade was up in the air. His fighting servant, however, was all out of breath. It was already near suppertime yet Elliot still wanted to continue fighting. If he wasn't stopped, he would have trained from dusk to the next sunset. "Y-young heir," the old servant said between breathes. "Might you think we stop now?" Elliot lowered his sword and looked up at the sky. "Tomorrow we shall continue then." He nodded to the servant and left to go inside. His body, well-fit, was glistening with sweat from the hard training he just took. "Young heir," a servant said as he scurried over to the prince with a towel. Then he carefully preceded to pat Elliot dry. "Your Majesty is reclining in his room, waiting for dinner. Shall this servant lead you to Sire?" Elliot nodded and followed along, casually taking his time, seeing no rush. It was just a daily routine he did after training each day.

Ginger yawned and looked up at the clock, "What are you making anyway?" She looked up at her mom, busy over a pot, "Curry." She smiled, knowing how much Ginger liked curry. Ginger's eyes widened, "Curry? Ah~!" She laid back, happy with the fact she'd be eating curry for supper. She laughed, "I wonder what ye old Majesty is having for dinner." She joked, but shut up quickly with a warning glare from her mom, "Now, that's the king you are talking about." Ginger rolled her eyes, "Ah, whoopdie doo. The King..and father of one snobby prince." She huffed. "I heard that the Royal Messenger will be in the village later." She smiled, "The prince wants to marry a commoner he'd supposedly had his eyes on for a while." Ginger laughed, "A commoner?" She scoffed, "An heir to the thrown of all of freaking Japan..and he wants to marry a commoner?" Her mom shrugged, "Love is love." "Ha." Ginger closed her manga and rolled her eyes, "Who knew that prince could love, huh?" She laughed, "So who's this 'lucky' commoner?" "That part was kept a secret." "Ah, I don't really care." She got up and looked down at the unfinished curry, "All I care about right now is getting my hands on that curry!"

The servant stood in front of the prince as they entered the king's bedroom. "The royal heir," the servant announced as he went to the side. The two both bowed before the king. "You may go now," the king said, waving him away and motioning for the prince to come forward. He made no movement to get up from his sofa. Surrounding him were servants that fanned and offered him fruits. The prince dropped down on his knees as he stood in front of the king. "Father," he said quietly. "Prince Elliot. Are you sure that you are to pick that woman? She's a commoner!" "I have made my decision," Elliot replied. "Sometimes quick decisions are not wise." "It'll be unique for a prince to marry a commoner. People won't feel like they're in low status positions." The king thought for a moment. "But remember our little promise we had. You must have a baby boy to become the heir after you. You must." He then waved the prince away. Elliot nodded, bowed, and backed out of the room. He then was led by another servant into his room, where he was changed of his clothing and bathed.

"Curry's done~!" Ginger scurried to the table and wasted no time in getting a plate, "So when is this 'Royal Messenger' supposed to come around to deliver the 'lucky woman' her destiny." She teased, digging into her curry. Sheryl, her mom, shrugged and got a plate for herself, "Probably around this time I guess." She laughed, "Imagine if it was you Prince Elliot chose, huh? Wouldn't that be something?" Ginger about choked on her curry at the thought, "Ha!" ginger rolled her eyes, "That would be something..something horrible!" Sheryl nudged her, "Come on, you know you'd want to. He's handsome and he's heir to the thrown of Japan." Ginger rolled her eyes, swallowing another fork full, "And he's an a**..isn't that a plus?" She joked, smiling. Sheryl rolled her eyes, "So if the Royal Messenger came knocking on our door right now saying that the Prince Elliot wants to marry you..you'd say no?" "That's right." she nodded, collecting more of her curry with her fork. Sheryl shook her head, "You'd say yes." She mumbled. Ginger dropped her fork with a little clink, "I'd say no, Mom, and neither you nor that stupid messenger will make me say yes if it did happen." Sheryl swallowed, "If it did happen. Now let's stop rambling 'bout something that might not even happen." Ginger laughed, "Yes, let's." She smiled, shoving another fork full in her mouth.

The prince was dressed in his usual wear: a fancy button-up shirt with embroidered edges, a cloak-like jacket that went down to his knees, and pants made out of special thread. He observed himself in the mirror as the servants busied themselves dressing up the prince. The prince gave a radiant smile to the servants, and they all stepped back, glowing with pride. Finally the prince was pampered with jewels placed on his body, all dazzling with gold. The messenger bowed as he came into the room, holding out a long scroll out in front of him. "Shall I take my leave now? " "Yes please, if it doesn't disturb you at this time of day." "I would do anything for the royal heir, be it any task." The messenger then bowed and excused himself out of the room. The messenger checked the scroll one last time before riding out into the dank, dark night with his black stallion. In a few minutes, he was at the destinated spot he was assigned to go to. He took a deep breath before sliding off the horse and knocking on the rough wooden door.

Ginger's whipped her head towards the door, her heart pounding, "Who the hell would knock on our door at this hour?" Ginger snapped, not wanting to think that it could possibly be that Royal Messenger, "I'll get it." She groaned, swallowing her last bite of curry. She pushed her chair from the table, walking over to the door. "Hello?" She opened the door cautiously seeing a well-dressed man holding a scroll. Ginger facepalmed, knowing it could only be that Royal Messenger. "M-may I h-help you?" She studdered over her words, hoping the Messenger was at the wrong house.

Elliot leaned back on a velvet-covered couch, checking the time through the golden clocktower. "The messenger should be at her house now. I wonder what her reaction will be like...." he said thoughtfully to himself. "Prince!" a young servant boy exclaimed as he climbed onto his lap. Several servants surrounding the prince began scolding the boy all at once. The prince held out a hand to stop them. "Little Jun. Did you sneak out again?" "Yeah. I wanted to see you! I heard that you were going to marry soom. Then I won't be able to see you anymore because you're so busy." Elliot patted Jun's head lightly. "You can still see me whenever you want," he replied as he cuddled the child. ~ The royal messenger stood proudly for her. "Is the the house of the mistress Miss Ginger Siolda?" he asked with a smile. Of course he knew it was her since the prince had pointed her out to him. But he wanted to see her reaction.

Ginger's eyes widened and facepalmed when all her hopes of him being at the wrong house disappeared. She gulped nervously and gestured for her mom, "Y-yes." She studdered, shaking slightly.

The messenger gave a genuine smile to her. "Oh, how wonderful!" He bowed to her. "By the orders of the Royal Heir, I am to inform the mistress Miss Siolda that you are to be his fiance. The wedding will be at sunrise. ... Are you okay Miss? You don't seem to take the news so well. Marrying a prince is a sure honor, isn't it? Miss Siolda is quite forturnate as the prince is a gentlemen with charms and manners. Many woman want him to pick them." The man then signalled his black stallion forward. He took out some gifts wrapped in precious silk and held it out to her as he bowed. "Mistress, may I present you these gifts that the Royal Heir has picked out for the lovely bride?"

Sheryl walked up to the door and gasped, "I-is he-" "Yep...the Royal Messenger." Ginger bit her lip to keep herself from laughing at the comment he made about the prince having charms and manners. Ginger sighed and poked at the presents, "Check it out, Mom..even the wrapping paper is authentic." She gave her childish smirk and Sheryl nudged her, "Ginger." She glared at Ginger and looked down at the servant holding out the gifts, "Take the gifts, Ginger." Ginger shot her mom an evil look and reluctantly snatched the gifts from the Messenger's hands. "What is this?" She looked down at the servant, not sure if she was supposed to tear at the rare fabric or what?
