WHAT IS WICCA?

That's the question of the day isn't it? And depending on who you ask there are a bunch of different answers you can get, and some will be more accurate than others. The first thing one must understand about Wicca is that it does not have a unifying holy text or holy Mother Church ie Bible and Vatigan like most religions. This can lead to wide variances between traditions (denominations) as well as a large number of solitary practitioners that follow there own hearts on what will please the Devine. This can make Wicca a little hard to nail down with one comprhensive definition.

The lack of a holy text makes it very easy for misinformation about Wicca to be made available, and there are a huge amount of "practitioners" that have gotten just enough bad info to THINK they know something, which of course leads to the spread of more erronius data.

What I will attempt to address on this thread are the very basic concepts that all VALID traditions should include. Keep in mind that Wicca is a very personal religion that does not try to force its membser into beliefs that don't sit right with them. It is by contrast more of a journey of self learning and spiritual growth that encourages a more one on one relationship with the Devine. The touch stone with Wicca is very often, "Does your heart tell you this is right?"

Yeah. We should do a list of affilate guilds. I have a friend that runs a solitary Wicca guild as well. :3

That's something that makes approaching a Wiccan as hard as approaching a Hindu : the terms are too loose. There's much to be gleaned from the tone, but such things are harder to express online. And whilst the "orthodox" (id est Gardberian or plausibly Alexandrian) Wicca has its own tenets, the "post" Wicca seems nigh upon Khaos with an Oedipus/Electra complex.
