Welcome to Megalopolis

Welcome to the Information Thread, your one stop shop for information on how the guild works, rules, regulations, FAQs, and thread for posting questions.

When you post in this thread a crew member, or a knowledgeable regular member will answer your question. Read on for infinite knowledge.

How It Works

Missions - Example

In More Than Able, "normal" role-playing isn't the normal thing here. Instead of the linear role-play in which all guild members are participating in a large story intended to go on forever, missions, meant to last a few days, are posted that members apply for and participate in based on literacy level.

Megards - Coming Soon

For every mission you do, Megards are rewarded to whichever of your characters completed the task. Based on the difficulty of the task, combined with the required literacy level of the task, Megards will be rewarded accordingly. With your newly acquired Megards you can purchase almost anything you can think of like weapons, rooms at your HQ / Hideout, a permit for a team of heroes / villains, or maybe even a full building as a personal base!

Karma - Coming Soon

Based on the type of missions you do ( Good / Bad ) you will be rewarded karma points ( ie : for saving a cat in a tree you get 1 good karma point for killing the president you get 30 bad karma points ). Based on your character's karma alignment, they will be allowed to enter either the good or evil base.

Room / Base - Example

A room in either the crossover section of MTA, or in a specific side's base, can be bought with 15,000 Megards, while a whole building for a team or just your character can be bought for 40,000 Megards. In order to enter someones home, you must be on the designated guest list, placed as the first reply to the topic.

Hero / Villain Teams - Coming Soon

You must have a team permit to start a super team. The cost is a simple 1,000 Megards collectively between each member, and the member list must be included in the first post of the team thread. The team thread acts as a profile thread, tallying up Megards in the team account.

Ranking - Coming Soon

In the missions, you may notice the five star rating system, a method developed to help adv. lit and elite roleplayers participate in harder missions ( specifically more articulate as well as harder for the character ) without having to worry about noobs giving them headaches from stupid grammer and spelling mistakes, while also allowing those on the lower end of the literacy spectrum to get better at roleplaying without getting hurt feelings when higher-ups tell them to add a few more punctuation marks to increase readability. The two different ways to gain ranking is through either a. taking a literacy and creativity test or b. starting off fresh and gaining ranks through harder and harder missions, and having crew members recommend you for higher rankings. You may take the CL test at any time, but some feel that progressing from a normal vigilante ( or pick-pocket ) to an amazingly heroic veteran ( or devious terrorist ) is more honorable then taking scenario tests. . . Lastly, if any member of the crew finds out you cheated on the test, you will be permanently banned from the guild.

Note: Record of Megards and karma will be posted on each individual character's page by a captain / vice captain / crew member

Rules

Literacy

We're all literary noobs at some point, but we all need to grow out of it eventually, especially if it hurts the guild. Basically, if you're to low a literacy level to do a specific mission, then don't apply. It will spare me having to tell you no to a specific mission, and with that extra time that you would have been using to do a mission, you can do a lower mission to build up your skills, or role-play in the IC Chat. For literacy information, look no further then our very own, home-made literacy guide!

Listen To Higher Ups

This should go without saying. If a crew member, vice captain, or captain tells you something, its probably to better you or the community, so respect their wishes without a debate. Also, if you are recommended to me on three different occasions for breaking rules, you will be exiled from Megalopolis ( banned and black listed ).

Respect

"R. E. S. P. E. C. T. Find out what it means to me!" Webster's definition - "due regard for the feelings, wishes, rights, or traditions of others". Follow this or face the wrath of my ban hammer. Breaking this rule is by far the fastest way to be banned, so have respect ~yo.

Powers

No god-moddy powers and abilities. Have logical and semi-convenient weakness(es). And please, just for sake of story, leave room from evolution, it just makes everything more interesting for everyone if gaining powers is a learning process. Please also scan other character profiles just to make sure that you don't have the same powers as anyone else.

Characters

Two characters to start off, message me if you want more. Though it isn't required to pm me your profile, you must post it in the database to complete missions! If it isn't there, not only will you not get Megards and Karma, others won't know about your character!

Absence

Simple rule. Month of no activity, kicked unless reason given ahead of time in absence thread. Once accepted you have seven ( 7 ) days to post in the guild, whether it be the OOC questions forum, or in the Super Database, you only have one week noob.
