After setting up a small booth outside her caravan, Roma took a seat behind it to wait for any potential customers. Occasionally, she would polish a bottle containing a potion or make sure that the charms were in their proper place.

Bartheyamus approached the caravan, still trying to mull over the logic behind a carnival. Such things were not welcome in his homeland as such niceties were deemed trivial and bad for the soul. Still, he couldn't deny the charm of it all: The lights, the merriment, the joy that seemed to explode from every smile. What did they call that? Joy? Regardless, he was over-analyzing too much once again and it wasn't until he regained his senses that he realized he'd been standing in the shop for quite some time without speaking or moving his gaze from the floor.
He looked to Roma who was busily polishing some potion bottles. It was busy work but she seemed to enjoy it.
"Ah, my pardons, my lady. I seemed to have lost myself in my own thoughts again. I've come to look at your wares. I do have but one question though: Do you have... silver?" his eyes flickered eagerly just uttering the word,

Her sensitive ears twitched as she looked at the customer. "Silver? Of course, sir." She set down one of the bottles and moved over to a display of various charms and talismans. "We have a variety of metals and precious gems that make our different wares." She lifted an amulet with a silver chain. "Are you searching for anything in particular containing silver?"

He nodded. "Indeed, I am. The design is rather hard to describe so perhaps I should just show you." Bartheyamus calmly removed his overcoat and placed in on an empty chair near him. He then lifted his sleeve, showing a tattoo for her to regard: He grinned, recalling one of the few sweet memories he remembered in his former life. "This was the symbol of our Clan Valeriu. Our king issued pendants and chains to only a select few in his inner circle. The talismans themselves are very rare, only thirteen were made with the permission from my lord." He lowered his sleeve and adorned his coat again. "You may check it's authenticity through an etching on one of the wings. It should say Memento Mori." Bartheyamus was doubtful she would have one but this was a carnival after all. Perhaps magic happened here.

Roma peered at the symbol, familiar with the make. "A winged Ankh with an inscription to remind one of their own mortality. I shall see what I can find." She moved to look through the various pendants, searching for something that matched the man's marking. After a few minutes of searching, the lycan returned with a few similar pendants and charms. "Two match the description you gave me, however the others might interest you as well." She set the two matches down on the side of a table while arranging the others for his viewing. One depicted an Ankh holding the Eye of Horus within it's circular top. The other was a more sinister looking Ankh in appearance, displaying the emblem for the Cult of Seth.

Bartheyamus looked down at the four pendants. He was not quit ready to look at the other two so he politely pushed those aside. He looked down at the ankhs, both with phoenix wings, both having the inscription. There was one test that could defy any forgery. After all, his king's reign was well-known and well-respected. He could not doubt the prospect of some committing forgery for the sake of showing allegiance.
"My lady," he said quietly. "My king informed me before his passing of one test that could prove authenticity but it requires that I shed my blood upon them. I understand wholeheartedly if you attest to this."

She nodded, knowing very well that a forgery could have easily been picked up during the travels. She made a small gesture to the pendants. "Do as you see fit. I see no wrong in proving authenticity of these objects. I am curious as well to see if the articles are genuine."

He nodded then as he pulled a slender knife from his holster. He regarded it carefully, its jeweled hilt, its fine silver edge. He removed his left glove, revealing a scarred hand. It was the only part of his body left without tattoos, and for good reason. He placed the knife's edge on his scar tissue-laden palm as he cut deep. He dripped the blood carefully onto each pendant and then wrapped his bloodied hand in his handkerchief. He studied both pendants for quite some time before he started to see a reaction. The pendant on the left emitted a screaming noise as the blood bubbled over it, eventually giving way to flames. The left pendant was eventually reduced to ashes.
"The Ashen Curse." Bartheyamus stated gravely. "Designed to reduce all royal forgeries to ash should a member of Castle Valeriu's blood come into contact." he took his attention to the remaining pendant now as he spoke. "Quite ingenious actually, our House was rather vain in that respect. Our king believed his subjects deserved only the best."
He noted now as the remaining pendant absorbed his blood and started to glow with an ominous crimson pulsation.
"This," he held up the still glowing pendant. "Is authentic. I regret to say your other was not and I shall compensate you accordingly for the trouble. What do I owe you, my lady?"

Roma watched the display in awe, only snapping out of her reverie when she was addressed. She shook her head, giving a small smile. "There should not be any price for the lost one considering that it was nothing of worth to begin with. As for the other, it should be returned to it's proper home with a proper owner. I will not charge you for either."

Not one to accept gifts, Bartheyamus simply smiled and reached into his coat pocket. He pulled out a pewter ring adorned with a ruby and multiple etchings, On the right side it read "Sanguis" and on the left, Runic for "The Age of Enlightenment." This was his Holyblood Runeband, a gift from another life though it seemed fitting it belong to her. He presented it to her and without a word or of hesitation, he kissed her hand and placed the ring on it. "Consider it a gift then for doing me such an honor."

Roma looked down at the ring, a slight redness lighting her face from the unfamiliar gesture. "That is very kind of you sir. Thank you." She smiled, happy to have been helpful.

After admiring the ring for awhile longer, Roma returned to her duties and straightened up the displays and potion bottles.

Tuomas cautiously made his way through the carnival and festivities before finally arriving to the edge of the grounds. He paused in front of the small caravan and hesitantly stepped inside to seek the owner of the establishment. "Hello? Is anyone here?"
