Honeycomb Island
Honeycomb Island is located in the midst of the South Blue, and is the nearest island north-northwest of the winter island of Nevado. It is approximately 97 miles from the island, and probably the closest island to the red line in the whole of South Blue...not that that's saying a whole lot, as the red line is a far cry distance away from it. It's similar to most of the other islands known in the seas, with its only known oddity is its continual high humidity. The island is named for its underwater honeycomb styled cave system, where it's generally accepted knowledge to the locals that a giant white fish lives. Honeycomb Island also sports a small village with a community of superstitious fishermen who only fish to the deeper, more dangerous waters to the southeast of the island. Friendly people, though superstitious. Honeycomb Island had also been a port for marine ships up until a year or two ago, though a certain monster fish has made it so that the ships do not actually stop, but do trading at sea just outside the barrier reef that pockmarks the surface of the water in a roughly circle shape.

Alka Masaomamono
Day in and day out at Honeycomb Island, Alka roamed around, "floating" on the surface. Truth be told, she never could actually float, but merely coiled most of her tail underneath her human like form, and laid upon it. Satisfied of "owning" the entire island and most of the waters around it, Alka and the fishermen had come to an uneasy agreement. In exchange to not be torn apart, Alka allowed them to fish in the deeper, colder waters. She in turn, was not actively hunted, or bothered, and allowed all the fish she could eat in the rest of the waters around the area shallow enough to her liking. A bully type relationship, but as Alka actively attacks marine ships, the island maintains its independence. Today was no different, and while there had been a ship or two destroyed, it was a relatively slow day. It was the kind where her mind almost got to wondering how she could be content with this kind of life for the rest of her days. There was still a full four years to go before she could more freely move around in deeper waters, though it could wait that long...she hoped. Boredom was a nagging itch to be relieved, she sought adventure....ships never really came around any longer, not to her area. Little did she know that the younger generations of Honeycomb Island were sick and tired of dealing with an unfair agreement, and had passed word along that there was safe docking to the southeast of the island. Slowly being ignored and bypassed, it left Alka twiddling her thumbs waiting for something to happen. One could only dig up so many clams and eat so many fish before growing tired of it. There was no purpose here for her, but yet it was a safe haven. Again, she mentally cursed herself for eating the fruit that made her sink instead of swim, and above all, desired to be free of it.

☾ The Twin Captains of the Night and Day Pirates x ☼ ♦◊ Luna & Sunny ◊♦ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ xxxxxCall it luck, foresight or a subconscious urge, but one bright day a small boat with a single cabin washed up on the shores of Honeycomb island. The boat had some small trouble getting through the deep waters surrounding Honeycomb, but luckily most of the troubles (some rabunctious and hungry sharks bumping at their boat) had happened at twilight. Sunny was able to eat Luna's speared shark for breakfast. xxxxxNow, however, Luna was in a deep, almost comatose slumber in the cabins, and Sunny was left alone to steer the small vessel to the docks. Locking the cabin door tightly to ensure no one raided the boat and hurt her twin, Sunny stepped on the docks and stretched. Some fishermen eyed her warily; flown just above the boat's sail was a pirate flag. While little known and somewhat ridiculous looking, a jolly roger was a jolly roger. Still, some looked away as if it didn't matter; the girl stepping off the boat seemed simple and naive. Which, in a lot of ways, she was. "I'm glad I made it!" Sunny called. Looking happily to the nearest fisherman, she asked, "Hey, onii-chan, where's the nearest bar?"

"Ehh? What was that? A-a bar? Ehmm, what we do have is further in the village," The middle-aged man scratched his back, pointing further inland at a semi-dilapidated building. "I-it ain't much, but the sharks get everything in these deeper waters where we gotta fish. Them other fish, they either ain't here, or they're taking their chances with th' monster. It's a good thing y've approached from the right side, otherwise, no one'd get hold of your bodies fer months, or even at all, if'n it decided t'eat ya. Attacks any ship that gits on that side uv' th' island. Some of th' younger men...they want to try and get rid of it.....leave it alone's what we say. A-anyway, I 'spect you didn't ask fer a rambl'n....so the food n' drink's that building way back there. It's safest there...th' marines that do come to trade sometimes trade some alkyhol fer fresh catch....A-anyways...I gotta get back out here, soon's m'boat's mended." The fisherman nodded his head and quickly made to get back to looking at his small boat. He rubbed the stubble on his chin and face, and shook his head, sighing.

☾ The Twin Captains of the Night and Day Pirates x ☼ ♦◊ Luna & Sunny ◊♦ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ xxxxx"Thanks, onii-chan!" Sunny called after him, waving energetically. Still, she couldn't help the somewhat devillish grin that lit her face. A monster, eh? She chuckled; it sounded like fun! Sunny started running from the docks, towards the building fishing onii-chan had pointed out. She stopped in front of it and caught her breath. Taking a final, deep breath, Sunny burst through the doors and half walked, half skipped up to the bar. "Hi~! I'm Sunny Tarpe and I'm looking for the monster onii-chan that lives here!"

NPC (The patrons of the bar & Barkeep)
There had been a general murmur in the bar to begin with, though when the girl had announced her intentions straight away, absolute silence overcame the bar...with a few mouthfuls of alcohol spewing back out, and some choking. They stared at her for just a few seconds, before they seemed to get smiles on their faces...as if it took them a while to get the "joke". A resounding chorus of laughs greeted Sunny's announcement, and most of them went back to their drinks. Eventually, the barkeep made his way over and asked, "Hey, great sense of humor...kind of keeps up the guys' spirits. Anyway, what can I get for ya?

☾ The Twin Captains of the Night and Day Pirates x ☼ ♦◊ Luna & Sunny ◊♦ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ xxxxxSunny blinked, confused. Hadn't she been clear the first time? She looked blankly at the bartender. "I want to see the monster onii-chan. I heard there was a monster from fishing onii-chan, and I want to see it. Where does it live?" Sunny's face was completely serious while she talked; her voice coming out high pitched and childish. Then again, everything Sunny did turned out childish. Take, for instance, the half-skip she did when entering the bar. "Why's everyone here so weird?" She added as a mere after thought. While she didn't mean it offensively, it still came out quite rude.

NPC (Bartender)
The bartender shook his head and leaned on the bar, a worried look on his face. "Now uh, pardon me young miss, but why're you so serious about meeting this monster of ours? The only way you'll see it is when it's out hunting for food...and that's always underwater. It attacks any ships it sees, but we've learned that it doesn't like the southeastern part of the waters around our island, so we have to go fish there. We'd like to go elsewhere..but what am I saying? Young lady, if you go and piss it off, it's a good chance it'll retaliate, kill you AND us. It lives under the island, in the caves...and that's why I said you'll only see it when it's hunting...provided it's a good day out." The bartender replied, shaking his head and stood back up, wiping a glass. The look remained, and despite knowing not to actually tell people anything, he couldn't ignore the words said. "You already know where to find it, but when it's completely destroyed a small fleet of marine ships, and continues to repel them, I just don't see what you could possibly get from just seeing the monster. Why would you want to see it at all? Seeing it's a death sign, unless you're on land. We're just lucky it hasn't gotten tired of us and just smashed us all to bits here."

☾ The Twin Captains of the Night and Day Pirates x ☼ ♦◊ Luna & Sunny ◊♦ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ xxxxxSunny grinned, "Don't worry, bartender onii-chan, I won't do anything reckless!" While she said it with the utmost confidence, the same childish tone she always used wasn't very convincing. In fact, it pretty much made her seem completely incompetent. She would've left, but something held her there. She sat, and looked unblinking at the bartender. "What's this monster look like?" She asked, resting her elbows on the counter and putting her chin in her palms. "Why don't you just kill it, if you hate it so much?"

Somehow the girl's words weren't reassuring. A little child promising not to do anything reckless wasn't much of a promise, that much both he and most of the other folks in the bar knew. Her next words though, were the kind that unsettled most folks from their seats. The bartender cleared his throat, adjusting the hat on his head to wipe sweat from his brow. "The monster's a giant white fish. I've seen its tail. Really thick, white, and it's probably almost as big as a sea king. I wouldn't be surprised if it is one, actually. Other folks here, they've seen it grab ships and just pull them under. Big ships, not little craft either. It's done it to those marine ships, that much I have at least three folks' word on. We don't have any weapons that could touch it, much less kill it. We don't have the money to bribe the marines to do the job for us, so what else can we do? It's a nuisance, and it probably thinks it owns the island. As of now and since it arrived, it HAS owned the island. The fish are plentiful....but only on the shallower, warmer side of the island....which is usually where the monster has been seen. Why? I bet your little mind's going and those cogs are turning...you're not going to go "see" it. You want to go fight it, aren't you. I'm telling you though, the thing is more than a match for whatever's been in the area, and it's why any marine ships that DO stop here stop outside of the barrier reef, on the safe side of the island. They make US go and row out to them to do trade. We're all hoping that it becomes enough of a nuisance to the marines that they'll just come in one day with a ton of firepower and kill it off...of course...that'll also mean that the island falls under the control of the marines and their government. I don't like the idea, but what else are we gonna do, y'know?" The man had a sort of desperation ring to his voice, but also one of resignation. Most of the other men around grunted general agreement, but kept drinking from their mugs. What he had said was true, that nothing they had could harm the monster.

☾ The Twin Captains of the Night and Day Pirates x ☼ ♦◊ Luna & Sunny ◊♦ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ xxxxxSunny listened to them, her face completely blank. She didn't say anything or show any signs of reacting to the bartender's tale. The minute he finished, she bowed her head a little, and her shoulders started shaking a bit. Was she... laughing at their tale? Sunny's face rose to show tears streaking down her face and snot trailing from her nose, "THAT'S SO SAD!" Sunny cried out, her voice reaching a whole new pitch that made high sound low. Sunny stood quickly, knocking over the stool. "That's it! I'll beat this monster of yours for free!" Sunny nodded, making her mind up right there. "Oh! And don't worry; I may not look like much, but I'm pretty strong! My sister is stronger, but I've beaten a sea king by myself, once!"

NPC (Bartender & Patrons)
One of the patrons slammed his mug down, before lifting his fist in the air. "Now all of you listen here! We're just a bunch of cowardly slugs if we're just gonna let this here little girl go against this monster alone. The girl could've eaten one of them fruits that makes ya sink. I know the drill, and I for one, am NOT going to sit like a sad sack just staring into my beer. I can't do much, but it's downright disgraceful if this girl goes out without any support. We may not have much in the way of money, but she's offering to do it for free. Men! At the least, let us go and stand with this girl!" The majority of the patrons also stood, moved and motivated now to do something. It was still pathetic that it took an outsider to rouse them to action, but the men rushed out, presumably to go grab makeshift weapons. The bartender merely shook his head, and continued wiping the bar. He paused, and spoke briefly towards Sunny.
"Listen, if you do manage to drive it off or kill it, come back here. I don't care what you say about payment, I am a man of conscience. It's what I've decided. If the world government won't put a bounty on its head, I will. I'm staking 30,000 Beli on its head as a reward. I don't care if you kill it or not. I just want it gone, and if you and whatever people you have with you can do it, it's yours." With that, the bartender nodded and got back to his work. For a small village, the amount he put down was a fair sum, a claim only he could likely accurately make.

☾ The Twin Captains of the Night and Day Pirates x ☼ ♦◊ Luna & Sunny ◊♦ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ xxxxxSunny blankly watched as the men rushed out... without her. She chuckled to herself; while her sister would've definitely thought of them as nothing more than pathetic, Sunny found their courage inspiring. Sure, it took a stranger to rally the troops, but they were troops nonetheless. "Sir, the money really isn't necessary. I only have one request." Looking out the door towards the villagers she'd gotten all riled up, Sunny took a deep breath, nervous about this part. She wasn't sure what time of day it was, but if there was anything Sunny feared... "Can you tell me about how much time there is until sundown?"

The bartender looked up, wondering what kind of request such a girl could have. Surely he owed her that much for at least inspiring the men to actually do something. "I've known quite a few types to come in, and I have a fair idea of what kind of person you are, or what you proclaim yourself to be, particularly if you're turning down money. But if it's the time you're concerned about, I can give you that much. We're the closest island to the red line, but a moderate distance til the grand line. As screwed up as this part of South Blue is, you have about five hours before sun finishes going down, since we're closer to "winter" season. Don't quite see how that'd affect your plans, but it isn't rightly my business to know. The men might not like it if you plan to try it at night, but the monster'll come out whenever it's hungry. We don't keep tabs on when exactly it comes out though. Sorry about that." The man shook his head, but in his heart, he'd promised the money if she could deliver on her word. With the monster gone, there ran the risk of being just colonized by the marines, but the trade would skyrocket, and he could just make the money back more easily. It was better than nothing while the younger generations whined and rebelled, after all.

☾ The Twin Captains of the Night and Day Pirates x ☼ ♦◊ Luna & Sunny ◊♦ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ xxxxxSunny grinned; five hours. Plenty of time. "Thanks, bartender onii-chan!" Not wanting to waste anymore of the man's time, Sunny jogged outside to find the angry mob of civilians. I hope no one gets hurt, Sunny said, worried. She knew very well she could take care of herself, but splitting her focus to defeat something that sounded so terrible and tough might prove to be tough. Five hours, she thought, more than a little relieved at that news. Luna will never have to know. xxxxxSunny took the Deer Horn Knives from their specialized spots on her belt. The familiar feel of the strange weapons put her at ease. She smiled; no matter how horrible the monster was, Sunny would beat it, and make sure Luna didn't have to worry about her safety. Sunny looked up and around at the townsfolk, waiting for them to gather. "Okay; can someone lead me to one of the caves bartender onii-chan mentioned?"
