Skype awoke groggily the next morning, frowning in confusion at the unaccustomed warmth that was pressed against her back. Where am I? Instantly more awake, the vixen sat bolt upright and looked around: the warmth next to her was coming from another vixen, fast asleep. She hadn't even moved when Skype had sat up.
Who was that? Where am I? Paws not making a sound on the cold stone floor, Skype padded to the front of the apparent cave she had landed herself in and investigated.
Snow was piled high in front of the door, just allowing a few little slivers of light in at the top, just enough to see by. She was--they were--snowed in.
It was about then that Skype noticed the small orbs next to the other vixen. What...? Frowning in curiosity, Skype slowly walked over and, careful not to touch the maybe-hostile fox, investigated the BCRs near her paw.
They looked ay too much like her to be a coincidence. Had she and this vixen...?
A slow, proud smirk came to her features, before being wiped away at the sobering thought of children. Deities above, again?
Groaning quietly in annoyance at the thought of her other children, wherever they were, Skype sighed and shook her head, moving to the far end of the cave. It wasn't very deep, only about ten feet long from mouth to end. Had this vixen done something to her to make her forget?
Unless she possessed some magical powers, Skype reasoned the other fox was innocent in the situation. For now, though, she had nothing to do but wait until she could escape this suffocating little cave--and her children. She didn't even want kids, why did the Deities keep 'blessing' her with them? There had been three by the other vixen, and added to the four boys she already had...that was seven.
Seven children.
It was just bordering on ridiculous, and unfair. Hopefully the snow would melt before the other vixen woke up, and then she could escape quietly into the blinding sun. Knowing her luck, though, the blue fox would wake up and want to have a deep, heart-felt conversation about it.
Ugh. My head hurts.

Denie might have remained asleep at first, but between the sudden lack of extra warmth and the anxious movement of the other vixen about the cave, she slowly and reluctantly began to come to. Why did her head feel so fuzzy at the moment? She moved to stretch out a bit, accidentally bumping the BCRs in the process.
Huh? BCRs? She woke up a bit more as she stared blankly at the three little orbs right next to her. ........... Why were they her color? And who the hell was the father? She didn't even remember doing anything. How did she--
Ah, make that second mother, she thought to herself wryly as she spotted the other vixen curled up at the far end of the cave whose colors matched the BCRs. Looking toward the mouth of the cave revealed that they were snowed in together for the time being. Lovely.
"Get a little too friendly in the cold last night?" she threw out wryly before turning her attention back onto the developing kits. How should they split these three up... Hell if she even had the first clue on how to be a mom though. And with the weather as of late? Ugh, hunting to feed multiple mouths was going to be hell. There was a reason she wasn't part of any tribe...

Skype snorted lightly as the female woke and spoke; it was so not her fault, and she was almost sure that it hadn't been her idea to get all cozy in this tiny little cave.
"I could ask you the same thing," she responded, arching an eyebrow delicately. "Did you see? We're proud parents now," she pointed out, her voice dripping in sarcasm. More runts to feed, more problems to deal with. And in the winter, they would most likely starve to death anyway, and she would feel, horror of horrors, guilty about that.
Urgh. Her head hurt.
"Whatever. It doesn't matter who got too friendly with whom," even though it definitely wasn't her, "because either way, we still have...them...to deal with," she said quickly, changing the subject. It was far too early to get into a blame game, and her head hurt too much to think up any coherent arguments about how it was so not her fault.
"What should we do...er, you?" she finished lamely, rolling her bright green eyes at herself when she realized that if she had ever known her new partner's name, she had forgotten it, along with most of last night. "What should we do with them? Just...give them to the nearest family we find?"
Though she wouldn't say it out loud, Skype wouldn't have any problem wit that. Part of her almost wanted to find some female who didn't--or, better yet, couldn't--have children and dump them with her. They'd probably be more loved that way. Then again, maybe their other mother would be better suited to the job and she could take all three.
And she still didn't know her name.
Urgh. It was too early for all this Heavy Thinking.

The tri-colored vixen smirked as the other took her singular comment all too seriously. Someone was clearly high-strung over this. "Aw, you mean you didn't enjoy cozying up with me in the cold cold night? My feelings are hurt." Again, purely kidding, but if the other vixen chose to take her seriously on it then whatever. She might lighten up with time. One could hope. "The name's Denie. We could probably split them up, just depends on whether you want one or two. If we happen to find a charitable fox somewhere along the way who wants the third, then all the better." She didn't entirely mind taking charge of two of them, aside from the fact that it was winter, which made things much more difficult all around. Though she still wished that she could remember what the hell happened last night to get them into this mess. Did she eat something weird...?

Skype just rolled her eyes at the first bit; at least she could tell her feelings weren't actually hurt, and that was a good thing. She so did not want to deal with a weepy, wussy female at the moment: kids were bad enough.
Then she mentioned taking one or two. Snorting lightly, Skype rolled her eyes and answered, "Well, I'd be fine with you taking all of them, but I suppose that isn't really fair to you," she said, sighing heavily; if only this other vixen wanted to keep them all, it would make her life so much easier.
"One, I suppose." If I must. Sighing again, Skype stood up and stretched, then moved back over to the other mother and the BCRs, examining the rings a bit disdainfully. She was no Carer, by any stretch of the imagination, but most foxes could tell the gender just by looking at them for a minute.
"Looks like two boys and a girl," she said, almost boredly shrugging one shoulder. "My other kids are boys, might be interesting to raise a girl." Maybe this time the kid would actually turn out like Skype wanted it to: she thought briefly of Bordeaux, and his...well, his him-ness, and she could barely repress her shudder. What a disappointment that boy had been--and his brothers. Julien, of the lot of them, was at least sort of like she had intended; or at least, he had been last time she had seen him...which had, thankfully, been quite a long time ago.

This vixen was already a mother before? Her boys must have had an interesting time growing up. "Trust me, if it wasn't winter, I'd have no issue with caring for the whole lot," she replied, looking down at the three BCRs. Two boys and a girl, eh? Sounded like they were in for an interesting time of their own. "... Unless you wished to team up for a short bit? Take turns between hunting and watching the kits till their old enough not to do something stupid like run off on their own in the snow?" She wasn't suggesting a romantic partnership by any stretch. Merely a cooperative one. They were technically both of their children after all, and it probably wouldn't hurt the kits to at least somewhat know each other growing up. Probably. "It's an option." Though one she was sure this particular female wouldn't be keen on taking.

A partnership? Skype raised her thin eyebrows as the female continued to speak, a dry smirk on her mouth. Really? Really?
Then again, they were trapped here, and it might be good to have someone to dump the kids on when Skype got sick of them, at least at first.
"Fine. A partnership." She paused and clarified. "That doesn't make us...you know, anything. There is no us." Just to be clear. "We might as well, if only because we're going to be trapped here for a while." Snorting disapprovingly at the wall of snow, Skype moved away from them go settle against the wall again; she certainly wouldn't be the one to continue the conversation, and besides, she had names to consider for the girl. Her girl.

"Of course not," she agreed, tending to the two males kits the other had left in her care. Hm... These boys would need names, wouldn't they. She'd never actually named anyone before, so this would certainly be an interesting experiment...
Denie nosed one of the BCRs lightly, expression thoughtful as she tried to come up with something. Ferelen? Yeah, sure, that would work. The other one was slightly trickier though... Bob? No. ... Daren? No. Whoops? Hehe, funny, but no. Stripey? No. Hm... "Any ideas on the second boy's name?" she asked the removed vixen, gesturing to the BCR with the large stripe of white near the middle. She was having a harder time naming him for some reason. Carl...? No.
