Character Name: Shadow

Type: Pokemon

Species: Haunter

Region: Johto (Goldenrod City)

Trainer Type: N/A

Gender: Male

Height: 5' 10½"

Age: 19

Hair Color: Purple

Eye Color: Sepia; 'Light Brown'

Skin Color: Dark tan; reddish-brown (Hopi Native American)

Other: A combination of a Haunter and this kid: [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8]. Maybe something like this.

Nature: Lonely - Increases attack, decreases defense

Ability: Levitate - Gives full immunity to all Ground-type moves.

Skill Set:
Lick - The target is licked with a long tongue, causing damage. It may also leave the target with paralysis.
Hypnosis - The user employs hypnotic suggestion to make the target fall into a deep sleep.
Dream Eater - The user eats the dreams of a sleeping target. It absorbs half the damage caused to heal the user's HP.
Shadow Ball - The user hurls a shadowy blob at the target. It may also lower the target's Sp. Def stat.

Personality:
Loyal (+) - If you make a friend of Shadow, you'll have made a friend for life. He trusts his friends and would do almost anything for them. He will defend them with all his heart and soul, get back at people who have wronged them, and will go to the ends of the Earth for their sakes. That's not to say his never disagrees or fights with his friends, but he thinks that one of the main things about being friends is being honest, so he'd prefer to tell the truth to someone rather than be politely agreeable. Friends are especially important to Shadow because of how much time he spent alone as a ghost pokemon who most people were afraid of. That's right; think Casper, only maybe not quite as friendly. He's not so trusting of people at first, but once you have his trust, his bond of friendship will be hard to shake.

Caring (+) - Occasionally, Shadow sets up pranks specifically to cheer others up. He can be secretly kind and helpful such as when he uses Hypnosis to help people get some rest if they have trouble, or sometimes eats their dreams in their sleep when they have nightmares. If ever confronted about his caring nature, though, Shadow will deny everything out of embarrassment. Ghost pokemon are just not supposed to have that kind of reputation; especially males.

Michevious (=) - Like most Haunter, Shadow is a prankster and a trouble-maker and is often thought of as silly. He likes to make shadow puppets on the wall to scare people, set up traps, and sneak up behind others. Shadow also enjoys coming up to people and licking them to paralyze them as a joke. He usually means no harm by it, mostly doing it to play and get attention when he's bored or lonely. Or, sometimes, he just does it for a good laugh. When he's feeling especially mischievous or snarky, though, his attitude is revealed through sarcastic responses and more malicious tricks. Occasionally he'll talk back to his elders, though he means no intentional disrespect, being something of a smart aleck. He also tends to play pranks or be sarcastic when he's afraid or otherwise distressed in an attempt to lighten the mood and break tension. In this way, it seems to be something of a defense mechanism for him to find some dark humor in his panic or terror. It gives him (and sometimes those he's being mischevious toward) the feeling that everything will be alright and that the fact that he's able to joke in such tense situations it proof of that.

Envious (-) - The grass is always greener on the other side. As a Haunter, Shadow often wondered what it was like to have a full body and use of full limbs. As a human now, though, he misses being able to phase through solid objects and often runs into things forgetting this fact. Being human wasn't everything Shadow thought it was, and even though he still maintains his attacks and come of his abilities like levitation, he still misses being a full pokemon. He feels more limited now and is somewhat disgusted with himself and his current form, but is doing what he can to make the most of it. He does not state his complaints or envy because he would never want to seem ungrateful to the Musharna who granted him the opportunity to see what the grass was like on the other side. However, once in a while he may seem bitter around wild pokemon who still retain their original forms. Shadow can also easily be envious about other things people have or can do, and is not afraid to voice those complaints. Once in a while, as a 'prank' he may steal something from someone and claim to only have taken it to see how long it would take them to realize they were missing it. If they never realize it, well...then he keeps it. Something similar happens with people. He may not take notice of a person until someone he knows or is friends with takes an interest in them. Then he might get so envious of the friendship that they have that he might try to develop his own friendship with said new person just to have the same.

Reckless (-) - Shadow is a daredevil. This trait seems to have resulted from a combination of his boredom and his inability as a ghost pokemon to die. He is also maddeningly stubborn, defiant, and rebellious because he does not like being told what to do, even when he knows it's right or necessary. He doesn't think before he acts because he worries that if he thinks too long he'll miss his opportunity to act. It is because of this that he wonders if he may have been too rash or reckless in taking up the Musharna's offer to change into a human. He never even thought about the fact that he probably wouldn't be able to change back or that he might dislike living as a human.

Strengths: This pokemon boy has a compassion for humans and pokemon alike that makes him want to be around them. Though he doesn't like people to think of him as such, every now and then he'll give in and play with a baby pokemon or eat away someone's nightmare. He prefers to use his technique for his pranks rather than battling other pokemon and tends to be pretty friendly if one can have a sense of humor strong enough to withstand the tricks he plays on people. He can talk thinks out with others and really likes to cheer them up or help them find a solution that they can't find on their own. One of his favorite things about being human is his ability to talk to both humans and pokemon in languages they understand, because he feels communication is very important. Despite kind of being on the scrawny side in physical body build, Shadow loves to use his new legs to run and has developed some impressive stamina and speed through his frequent use of them. This tends to be quite often when he must flee from the angry victims of his pranks.

Weaknesses: Despite wanting to be around people, Shadow's rash, sarcastic, reckless personality often drives him to take actions that repel other pokemon, such as his tendency to prank others. To him, that's an ice-breaker, but to others, a mean prank can leave a very lasting impression which Shadow doesn't really consider until after his victim gets upset. By then, there's not much he can do but say sorry, and that's usually not enough to undo the damage done. In his eagerness to make friends, he can be a little 'too' friendly and treating strangers like old friends by playfully insulting or otherwise behaving inappropriately towards people he has just met. As far as physical weakness goes, Shadow is just about as scrawny as he can get. Being transformed from a ghost pokemon, which didn't have much substance to begin with, the guy looks just a little better than anorexic and doesn't eat much due to not being used to it. He has next to no physical strength at all and is a definite light-weight. His face is thin and slightly gaunt due to not getting much sleep, but he's slowly adapting to human sleep patterns as well. Like his original self, though, he tends to sleep during the day and be more active at night.

History:

There once was a boy who feared pokemon. He always had because he had grown up in the urban environment of Goldenrod City's back allies. Ghost and poison pokemon often encountered the homeless people of Goldenrod, including the small family of the boy who feared pokemon. His mother and father had warned him to stay away from the wild pokemon, but that was not always easy when they shared the same habitats of the homeless.

Gengar, Haunter, Gastly, Koffing, Weezing, Muk, and Grimer ran rampant along the streets, sewers, and alleyways of the city, terrorizing people for fun, and spreading pollution wherever they went. Horror stories were told to children - some truer than others - about how said pokemon devoured dreams and sucked souls from humans if they got too close. This was how the boy's fear was planted, and his parents nurtured it in order to quell his curiosity for pokemon and keep him safe.

Kids who grew up on the streets such as the boy had no way of obtaining a pokemon to defend themselves, so incidents occurred from time to time. They were not often malicious, but the humans didn't know any better. When the boy's mother fell ill due to poisoning from a Muk's footprint, his fear turned to anger. When his mother died not long after due to lack of treatment, his anger turned to hate.

The boy turned to his father for comfort, but his father, too, was afraid - not just of the dangerous pokemon and poor lifestyle had killed his wife, but of being a single parent raising a child on his own. Unable to take the grief and responsibility that overwhelmed him along with the stress that poverty caused, the boy's father told his son that he would go out into the world to find new work. He said that he would return once he had earned enough money to support them both. However, the man never came back to claim his son. The boy was forced to raise himself and grow up on his own on the streets of Goldenrod City.

Throughout the boy's adolescence, a certain Haunter started to keep an eye out for him, intrigued by the child's independence - not only from his parents and other humans, but from pokemon as well. He didn't seem to need pokemon to defend himself as he had mastered the art of running away. While many might not have considered that the most brave or noble tactic, it was certainly the least violent or destructive, and often times less interested pokemon let him go without harming him. The boy reminded the Haunter of a wild pokemon himself because of his determination to stay alive and his quick adaption to his environment developed to ensure his survival.

As time went on, the ghost pokemon grew more and more curious. He would see the boy from time to time dodging human hooligans or wild urban pokemon who had ambushed him. The Haunter himself was a pretty lonely pokemon, for due to his prankster personality and the malicious reputation of his species, most other pokemon avoided him. Sure, he would hang around with other ghosts from time to time, but they didn't usually have anything fun to do besides terrorizing humans. This Haunter soon grew bored of seeing frightened humans. He wondered if it was possible to make friends with one who didn't try to capture him on sight.

After a while, the Haunter finally decided to attempt to speak to the boy. He couldn't afford any pokeballs and didn't seem at all interested in capturing pokemon anyway. The Haunter believed he had nothing to lose. So, late one night under a dimly-lit street lamp, the ghost and poison type approached the boy from behind. He knew if he had encountered him directly, the boy would have just run as he did with all other wild pokemon. Having anticipated this, the Haunter developed a plan. Just as the kid realized the Haunter was behind him, the ghost wasted no time in licking the back of his neck, paralyzing him.

The paralyzation did not take immediate effect, however, and the boy, horrified, began to stumble away as best he could. He just managed to make it to the warehouses along the harbor of Goldenrod before the Haunter caught up with him, somewhat amused by the turn of events. For a human, the pokemon thought, the boy was a pretty resistant creature.

Still uncertain of what the Haunter had in store for him, the boy's pokephobia kicked into high gear, causing him to tremble where he fell. Besides his involuntary quaking, he could not move. The poison gas pokemon hovered above him, looking down on him with evil, slanted eyes...

The Haunter began to laugh. All the boy heard, though, was "Haunter haun-haun! Haunter haunhaunter haun."

"G-get away from me!" the human yelled, realizing he was alone and helpless. The harbor and warehouses were abandoned; no one was around to hear his cries. He had never been so afraid in his entire life. He couldn't move his legs. He couldn't run.

"Haunter haun haunter?" the pokemon asked, realizing something was wrong. "Haunt-haunter haunter." He hovered nearer to the boy, but of course the teen didn't understand. The boy back up farther, scooting himself back. "S-stay away! I'm warning you!" The boy shouted. "Leave me alone! You're not eating my soul!"

The Haunter sighed, starting to grow annoyed with the boy's lack of understanding. As the pokemon reached out to take the human's hand, however, the boy just managed to scoot back with the help of his arms. Too late did he realize there was no cement ground behind him and he lost his balance. The paralyzed boy fell into the water of the harbor, too paranoid and panicked to even realize what was happening.

The ghost pokemon, by this point, was exasperated. He had never imagined it would be so difficult to communicate with a human. While he had taken note that this kid was not a trainer and therefore wouldn't be likely to battle or try to capture him on sight, he forgot that at least trainers had a vague understanding of their pokemon and their feelings. Trainers, at least, could usually tell when a pokemon was friendly or had harmful intent. To the pokephobic boy, though, he couldn't afford to wait and see if a wild pokemon was friendly before he attempted to flee. If it wasn't, he had no means of defending himself, and so he had naturally grown paranoid of the pocket monsters he had been taught to fear. To him, they were just mindless, powerful beasts.

After going in to save the paralyzed, drowning boy, the Haunter discovered that he was unconscious. He dragged him out of the cold water, leaving the drenched human among the boxes in the warehouse for him to dry. The pokemon decided that he must have passed out either through fear or lack of air. Either way, it was clear that he wasn't going to get through to the child this way. Somewhat disappointed, the Haunter slunk into the shadows close by to wait until the boy woke.

While he waited to make sure that the boy was alright, the Haunter wondered if there was some way to make humans understand: pokemon were people too. They got lonely and wanted to make friends without being forced into servitude through capture. One day, the Haunter thought, he would teach the boy who was afraid of pokemon that as long as he didn't mean them any harm, they didn't mean him harm either.

When the boy woke, however, they was no longer in the abandoned warehouse. The sound shouting voices and urgent commands had abruptly brought him to his senses. While the kid had slept, some people had come and moved the boxes and other goods out and loaded them onto a cargo ship, taking the two stowaways - the Haunter and the human boy - with them. The 'abandoned' warehouse hadn't been as abandoned as it seemed. The cargo on the ship belonged to Team Rocket, and when both pokemon and boy were discovered among the shipment, they were immediately captured and imprisoned. The Haunter, who could have easily escaped at any time, had stayed with the boy out of guilt for paralyzing, frightening, and nearly drowning him. Now it was his fault that the boy had been captured too.

Once he was caught in a Rocket pokeball by Team Rocket, however, he was both astonished and angry at the unexpected turn of events. What right did they have to capture him while he had just been trying to help the kid? Good intentions were harder to turn into actions than he'd thought. How had things come to this? If he had only been able to speak to them and tell them what had been going on, maybe they wouldn't have been so quick to capture him. It was a while of thinking and boredom in the ball before the Haunter finally drifted off to sleep.

When the ghost fell to sleeping, he discovered the Musharna who gave him an offer. The Haunter was delighted, deciding this was the perfect cure for his boredom as well as a wonderful way to make people, like the boy and Team Rocket, understand him. He could make so many more friends as a human person than as a ghost. He could also probably pull more interesting pranks since other pokemon and people would be less likely to expect such from him just because of his species.

Perhaps as a human, he could possibly even rid that pokephobe of his fear. He would never be lonely again, and never again misunderstood - at least that's what he thought. Little did the Haunter know that humans got lonely and misunderstood each other just as much as they misunderstood pokemon...but he would discover that soon enough. As a human, he decided to adopt the boy's street nickname as his own new one - Shadow. It seemed as good as any other.

When 'Shadow' woke again, he was in a new, tangible form and he felt very heavy. Some lower grunt Rockets were confused when they came across the new young man, but the trickster told them that he was a new recruit and asked for some clothes to match. After having explained his story, he obtained said clothes, passing himself off as one of them - a Rocket. Shadow went around the building, learning the area before he finally found a way out. Using his Levitation, he fled from Team Rocket's island hideout and back to the mainland.

Though he usually stayed out of human affairs, Team Rocket was pretty well-known, and Shadow the Haunter knew enough about the organization to figure they needed a taste of their own medicine. Their neglectful treatment of the pokemon they obtained and the criminal ways in which they obtained them was enough to anger any pocket monster, wild or not. If Shadow was going to communicate with humans, he would want to start with them, but only once he managed to control his powers on his own. After all, he was pretty sure they wouldn't hesitate to capture a super-powered human like him if they could, and he didn't want to go after them while still ignorant of his new form.

One day, he thought, he'd return, and they'd probably let him in if they still believed he was a Rocket. He needed to get revenge for their having captured him by surprise and putting him through the humiliation of being in a pokeball. That, and the kid he had gotten into so much trouble. It'd been his fault that the boy had gotten captured, so naturally it was up to him to break the human out of that place. Yes...one day, when he got the hang of his new body and life, he would.

Species: Haunter

Region: Johto (Goldenrod City)

Trainer Type: N/A

Gender: Male

Other: Would something of a combination between
him: [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
and him: [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8]
be possible? Maybe to look something like this? The first was supposed to be him as a Haunter pokemorph (with Gengar features such as red eyes and sharp teeth), but he's too much like a pokemon. The second is him as a human. I'd really appreciate it if the artist could somehow combine elements from both (excluding the Gengar features and maybe replacing them with his human features, like giving him his nose and brown eyes). The human form dressed as a Haunter gijinka would be perfect, especially if he could still maintain some of his trademark clothes like his black long coat and his baggy blue jeans.

One day, the Haunter thought, he would teach the boy who was afraid of pokemon that as long as he didn't mean them any harm, they didn't mean him harm either.

As the ghost fell to sleeping once the sun rose, he discovered the Musharna who gave him an offer. The Haunter was delighted, deciding this was the perfect cure for his boredom as well as a wonderful way to make people, like the boy, understand. He could make so many more friends as a human person than as a ghost and probably pull more interesting pranks since other pokemon and people would be less likely to expect such from him just because of his species.

Added later:
When both the boy and the Haunter woke, however, they were no longer in the abandoned warehouse. Before the ghost pokemon had managed to tell the Musharna his answer, he had been abruptly brought to his senses by shouting voices and urgent commands. It seemed that while they had slept, some people had come and moved the boxes and other goods out and loaded them onto a cargo ship, taking the two stowaways with them. The 'abandoned' warehouse hadn't been as abandoned as it seemed. The cargo on the ship belonged to Team Rocket, and when both pokemon and boy were discovered among the shipment, they were immediately captured and imprisoned.

Shadow began to wonder if the Musharna's offer had simply been a dream. However, when he finally slept once more, this time in the custody of Team Rocket, he once again encountered the same dream being. Eagerly, he accepted the Mursharna's offer. When he woke again, he was in a new, tangible form and he felt very heavy. Some lower grunt Rockets were confused when they came across the new young man, but Shadow the trickster told them that he was a new recruit and asked for some clothes to match. After having explained his story and having the grunts help him document a file as a new member, he obtained said clothes, passing himself off as one of them - a Rocket. Shadow went around the building, learning the area before he finally find a way out and fled back to the mainland, away from Team Rocket's hideout using his Levitation.

Though he usually stayed out of human affairs, Team Rocket was pretty well-known by pokemon, and he knew enough about the organization to figure they needed a taste of their own medicine. If he was going to communicate with humans, he would want to start with them, but only once he managed to control his powers on his own. After all, he was pretty sure they wouldn't hesitate to capture a super-powered human like him if they could, and he didn't want to go after them while still ignorant of his new form. One day, he thought, he'd return, and they'd probably let him in if they still believed he was a Rocket.

Original History 2
Once he was caught in a Rocket pokeball by Team Rocket, however, he was both astonished and angry at the unexpected turn of events. What right did they have to capture him while he had just been trying to help the kid? Good intentions were harder to turn into actions than he'd thought. How had things come to this? If he had only been able to speak to them and tell them what had been going on, maybe they wouldn't have been so quick to capture him.

As if that wasn't enough, the Rockets rudely attempted to experiment on him while he was in his pokeball by trying to force him to evolve. There was some pain and a good deal of struggling, but the Haunter was determined to stay as he was. As a result, he partially evolved by gaining the crimson eyes and white teeth of a Gengar, but managed to retain the rest of his Haunter form. It was a while of thinking and boredom in the ball before the Haunter finally drifted off to sleep.

Please fallow the correct quest format. Also, please make sure your information is relevant to the shop and it's story.
I'm sorry, but this thread is still under construction and I was just dropping off information here from another quest thread so I could integrate it into the proper quest format for this shop eventually. Is that not allowed?

Also, may I ask if there was something in particular other than the extra, non-relevant shop information that caused a problem? I'm used to it being that as long as the quest thread contains the required quest information, other info may also be included. Is that not the case in this quest sub forum?

Hello!

There are a number of bits and pieces I feel could be addressed whenever you have the opportunity. The vast majority of these are designed to be constructive and give you room to shuffle them about, but they are also there to point out the little errors that need to be dealt with so that your concept makes sense to an outsider. Any queries, feel free to ask.

First, we'll handle the little niggles in the personality - his personality isn't bad, in fact, he sounds just like a hormonal teenager, but there are a few glitches in there:

Playful
The way this is described, it could be considered a neutral trait. While he means no harm by it personally, he may cause harm and receive a negative response based on his pranks.

Caring
Unfortunately, the Entra world consists of a lot of adult gijinka and as such, the "big brother" element would make no sense. If we had access to newborns and children (which aren't available at the moment), this would be logical, but at present it isn't.

Brooding
You're using the wrong definition at this point and it also contradicts the "caring" and "Playful" aspects of his personality. A brooding individual is menacing and unhappy, I'd hazard a guess that Shadow is more introspective in these moments of quiet contemplation. Consider it and then you might elect to change it, but I would encourage you to be careful as you are close to contradicting elements of his existing personality.

Envious
While I can understand where you're getting at with this point, I'd encourage you to me specific in relation to how his envy effects others. At present it all appears to be internal and there's no mention of how it impacts on others - does he become bitter, does he obssess over it, or is it really just a case of internal envy that he rarely voices?

STRENGTHS:
Good - but I'd like to know if he has any physical strengths as well.

WEAKNESSES:
Good - you even recognise that his pranks are an issue here! However, what are his physical weaknesses too?

HISTORY:
This is really well done, I was surprised when reading through it as I was interested in what backstory you were going to pursue. Shadows reasons for becoming human are admirable as well as logical.

FINAL CONCERN:
Now, while I have no immediate concerns about the personality, history, strengths or weakness in your concept I do have a very real concern for his age. In this shop, all of the Gijinka are over the age of 18 years, in fact, our youngest gijinka are 19. This is not only because the owners have chosen to make them this age, but also for legal reasons as the "Age of Consent" in many countries is 17+.

I have concerns that he may not be able to completely fit in with these older gijinka as he might have difficulty entering their social circles or relating to them. I don't like the idea of someone not being able to RP with others they may wish to if a limitation can be avoided and I feel this could be one of those that could hopefully be addressed without too many major concerns.

While I'm not saying you need to do it simply for romance/relationships (you may not want to pursue this), it's even common in real life for social circles to differ based on age. A 16 year old is highly unlikely to associate with a 21 year old unless they're related to them. Hopefully you see where I'm coming from despite my rambling!

Regardless, if you're adamant that he must be sixteen then I can't stop that, but I felt it was appropriate to discuss my concerns so that you could avoid any potential road blocks along the way. Otherwise, he's a good concept and with a little tweaking and work, he could be ready for approval shortly.

Epine de Rose
Hello, Epine. Thanks for taking the time to read and review/crit my quest. I really appreciate it. I also wanted to apologize for the inconsistencies and contradictions caused because this character was based on an existing character and I was having trouble adapting him to the setting of this shop.

Since my original pokemorph character was originally based on the pokephobic boy turning into a pokemorph/gijinka, the haunter's personality ended up being a lot like the human boy until I remembered he's going to first be a pokemon and obviously isn't going to have the same reasoning or logic in his actions. By the time I realized that, I was already half-way through the profile, so it was difficult to incorperate them properly without inconsistencies. Thanks a lot for helping me to identify them. biggrin

I can understand why the playful trait would probably be considered neutral. That's changed, but do I need to have to create another two positive traits and a negative trait to balance it out?

Hehe, the big-brother thing makes sense. That's been changed too. I read in the shop front that there are baby pokemon, though. Have those just not come up yet?

Yeah, sorry, couldn't think of the word. Contemplative is probably better. Mmm...or maybe I should just get rid of it. I kinda put the brooding trait in here on accident because the human-to-pokemorph Shadow was more angst and emo after he was changed whereas Haunter-to-gijinka Shadow is more like the original human version. Um, do the traits need to balance out? Is there a max or min on numbers of traits? (EDIT: Just discovered I need 2 positive, 2 negative, and 1 neutral. I hope you guys don't mind 2 neutral. I added another positive trait so there are now a total of 6.) I'm sorry, I have trouble breaking personalities down into just a handful of traits.

Whoops! Thanks for the tip on envious. I feel stupid for not thinking about that. >_>; I never know what to put in trait descriptions. Added.

Physical strengths and weaknesses have been added! I didn't think of those either, so thanks for the idea!

And thanks for the compliment about the history. XD I developed that some years ago and re-adapted it here before I fleshed out any other part of him. I was worried the adaption sounded stupid, so your review of it means a lot.

Question about gijinkas...other than their abilities and pokemon attacks, how much are they like their old pokemon selves? For example., Shuppets are supposed to feed on bad emotions. Do gijinka Shuppets do that, or do they eat normal food? Also, despite being gijinkas of ghost pokemon, do their new humaniod bodies require them to eat regularly and as much as humans eat now? Is it possible to determine how much of gijinka is cosmetic/part of a costume and how much is actually them? For example, are gijinka with horns actually having horns, or are they fake? Do gijinka ever change clothes? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just curious because each gijinka shop seems different.

Oooh...I didn't realize age would be a problem. 'Kay, guess I'll raise him to 19 in that case, since, like you said, he still pretty much acts like a hormonal teenager. I must have been thinking about the other Shadow again. x_x Thanks for bringing that up and being so considerate. Age and height have been changed.

1. Personality traits can be three neutral, two negative etc, so long as there's a suitable balance and realism to the character it's usually fine if there are more than the basic form requires. It's mostly to avoid someone being too "perfect" with no flaws for the most part.

2. Pokemon Gijinkas typically retain their powers and whatever their "natural" ability is e.g. a grass pokemon's might be "Regrowth". In relation to Haunter's, you've selected "Levitate", as such, he's likely to be able to levitate for a limited period of time. So in terms of Shadow, he'll be able to learn whatever moves a Haunter can learn, as well as make use of Levitate.

3. Gijinka need food to stay alive. Haunter might have been a 'ghost' as a pokemon but whenever he agrees to Musharnu's offer, he's given 'life'. In essence he's a living being and as such, is expected to eat/drink and so on as any living creature would. There are certain pokemon that require additional energy to sustain them e.g. Joltik requires electricity sometimes... But in a general sense, consider Shadow's requirements the same as any humans.

4. If a Gijinka has horns, these are real. Generally speaking if a gijinka has an unusual trait such as wings/tail/horns, these are all regarded as real things as Gijinka aren't completely human, they're a hybrid.

5. Gijinka can change clothes icly whenever they would like, however, their art will not change to reflect this. The only time clothes can be changed through art is upon evolution, so the next time you might see a clothing change for Shadow will be after he's evolved to Gengar.

No worries on asking so many questions, I actually prefer this as it means you can enter the setting with a full understanding of what you're getting into. If you have any further questions then you can feel free to ask them!

EDIT: I'm sorry, I just noticed Cruor had a certain past with Team Rocket and I wasn't aware that was possible. Since my old character had been part of TR rather unwillingly, I thought I'd try to incorperate a little bit of that into his past too, so it's been added on. Please let me know what you think.

I personally preferred Shadow without the Team Rocket past but you have to remember that this is your character. If you want him to have links to the organisation then you can.

-rolls in- I'll drop some feedback! But I'm not staff..Epine..Vamps..Vittles..Mootles..They're the decision makers, and ultimately Vittles and Mootles have final say on quest approval.

I do have a question about his history..Wha happened to the boy?! If they were both captured and discovered and..yanno..Wouldn't team rocket simply have disposed of the boy, recruited him, killed him, tossed him overboard? And if not then..did Shadow go back for his boy?

I don't mind the team rocket aspect, but it did read easier before it was added in. Also..if your going to have musharna offer the dream, maybe have him offer it only that once during his imprisonment? He can realize the boy is gone, take on the name shadow, have the whole dream, and it will make sense in the sequence of events. The rocket thing does open up a lot more questions..How was he captured being a ghost..did he then have a trainer? He could always later join up with team rocket as a human maybe..but because he seems to love humans and wants to befriend them that might not be logical for him.

Now you also mentioned joining for revenge! Buh revenge for wha, cause they're bad guys and he doesn't like bad guys?

I honestly do love your character, his personality, the rest of the history, it was really nice to read through and it made me adore him! Like, heres an honest lonely prank loving pokemon who wants to join human society to show them that he's not bad at all!

I noticed that you followed Epees crit. Love the new pyhsical strengths and weaknesses, etc.. Otherwise everything looks good to me and meshes well! YEY! Can't wait till your guy gets approved, it'll be awesome.

Hey, there. It's been a while. Sorry to bring this up just now, but I was re-reading everything and I did have a question.

Do these characters have to evolve? And, maybe as a separate but related question, do they have to age? I'd imagine the answer is yes, because though ghosts don't age, you said they are technically given a new life when the accept Musharna's offer, so they essentially go through all the things living creatures do. But are evolving and aging linked at all? As in...does he have to evolve to age? Because I was hoping to keep him a haunter forever. Albeit a partially-evolved one, if possible.

Hello there, Shinigamisgirl! I'm sorry I didn't reply to your response sooner. I don't know how I could have missed it. x_x Anyway, thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to read everything, let alone provide so much awesome feedback! Staff or not, it means a great deal. In fact, I'm even more grateful because it's not an obligation for you to drop by or provide feedback at all. ^_^; Really appreciate it.

Haha, right! The boy. Shawn. Well, according to different versions (and perhaps alternate dimensions/parallel universes) he usually ends up being forced to join Team Rocket one way or another. Y'know, because he doesn't want to die just for knowing about their secret base, and if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. XD In some versions, he's more compliant about it (like the one in my sig) because in that setting, Rockets had to be recruited and thus willing to join. It beats being homeless and alone on the streets of Goldenrod anyway, haha. Aaand, that was probably way more than you wanted to know.

In this setting, he probably ends up joining Team Rocket, and yes, Shadow the Haunter will go back for the boy (Shawn) if he can. I'm still not sure how Team Rocket really incorporates into this shop, so I can't say for sure. XD But that's how I figured it would go if possible.

Once during his imprisonment, huh? Mmm, that might be a better idea. Thanks, I'll see what I can do to revise it! It makes a lot more sense. XD

Oooh, I see what you mean about him being captured, though...I suppose I was thinking more 'captured' in the sense of a net or cage instead of a pokeball. Good point. Maybe they caught him in one of those Rocket pokeballs, just as a general claim of a Team Rocket pokemon. You know, like how they capture pokemon for the organization without specifically assigning it to a trainer. Maybe for future use in battle training or something. Does that make sense...?

Heh, revenge for randomly capturing him and putting him through the humiliation of being in a pokeball! XD Well, that and yeah, Team Rocket's neglectful treatment of the pokemon they obtain and the criminal ways in which they obtain them. Plus he has to go back to find that human kid. It was kind of his fault that the kid got captured by TR in the first place, after all.

Thanks so much, Shinigami! I'm really glad you like him. I really hope I get to roleplay with you sometime so I can learn more about your characters as well, especially through him. biggrin
