My friend from MA(A Guy I actually met here on Gaia... Not in the guild, but on Gaia itself o-o ) is coming to meet me next Wednesday. o-o
I'm like "WHAT?!?!?" I thought he wasn't going to get the money, and that he was joking, but damn he really got it!
So, anybody else ever meet an internet friend?

So far everyone has been the same as they are online. Although there is one thing to mention.
If you know that someone is shy...whether they were at first online or just told you they are normally at the beginning...you WILL have to start over when you meet in person. I mean it might not take as long as normal...but the fact that they are shy and you are meeting in person for the first time means they need time to adjust and stuff.
Unfortunately, I couldn't stay long enough with a friend like that and by the time I was leaving everything felt comfortable. I feel like that pushed us apart and it is annoying. If I only could have stayed another day...*sighs*
Speaking of him...I wonder if I can contact him again...isn't he on my facebook now!? *ponders* haha
He's just been in shy mode ever since...kind of...blargh. The only course of action is to meet again I think. haha
Oh I also think that is what I have to do with another friend.
This time we planned to meet up but something weird happened and it didn't work out...BUT I took the time to go there so he feels bad about it. Everysince then its like things are weird. In fact, he barely talks to me and we were really close. And if I try to get him to talk about it or even give him a way to start over or opt out of the friendship...he like goes silent and ignores that particularly suggestion. I feel like he is afraid to do anything about the situation and is holding on by a thin thread. Like he is afraid that if we try to resolve it that we'd find out be dislike each other and never talk again even though we barely talk now. It is so annoying. I am attempted to just drive up there and be like "Im here! Lets hang out now!" pfft. I just hate this little weird back and forth going on.
Other than that...its been good. haha

I met my Husband online and have had two boyfriends that I met online but I have been meeting me online for YEARS. It is very true that when you meet someone for the first time in person, even though you may have been talking to them forever online. Its like meeting the person all over again. Just try not to be nervous and just be yourself. I have been meeting people online for like ever it seems! Where are you meeting him at?

I had a serious relationship with a guy online. I was meant to visit him in June this year but he turned out to be a 50ish-year-old pervert, among other things. Last year was not fun. Oh well. Better luck next time, right? (-:

Although being an oldie isn't bad persay...lying is though.
I have always known the people for many years before I meet them offline...so there is a less likely chance that they are weirdos. I guess...haha
I don't really date online(seriously) until after I meet the person once in person though. It just seems to make more sense that way for me. haha

It was more the creepy thing that got me. Unfortunately I didn't realise until deep into the relationship and by that time he'd guilt me every time I pulled back. Never again.
I did have one other relationship that went really well. A girl called Heather who's about my age. We used to talk about how I'd come over, we'd travel London and she'd show me these massive fairgrounds. *blushes and grins* So not everything has been bad.
I've never met anyone I met online though. Most people I talk to are in the US or UK.
