Tomorrow I'm going into my class on New Religious Movements with some questions for a guest speaker, Dr. Gus diZerega, who is the author of a book called "Pagans & Christians: The Personal Spiritual Experience" which was published by Llewellyn.
According to the back cover of his book, he "holds a Ph.D. in Political Theory. He is also a Third Degree Gardnerian Elder, and studied six years with Brazilian shaman Antonio Costa e Silva. His numerous articles have appeared in both scholarly and spiritual publications".
What I have read in the book so far [the first 50 pages, what I have to have read by then, basically] is an overview of the differences between the Pagan mode of spirituality and the Christian mode.
Anyway, I was curious to see what any of you would ask this person if you were offered the chance. I believe I'm going to be asking him questions related to his opinions on the publisher of his book, eclectic and/or commercialized neopaganism, and a specific question about one of his assertions about Pagan spirituality in his book related to pantheism/panentheism.

I might ask him about his Gardnerian lineage. I might also ask him what he thinks about hyping the Pagan/Christian dichotomy to form an "us vs. them" mentality. That seems to be an issue in Neo-paganism.
I might also ask him what he thinks of specific authors causing the entire publishing house to be looked down upon.

Do you think the power of thought? That if you believe your eternal soul is meant to go to a certain spiritual plane, you will in fact go there?
